Welcome to the fourth episiode in my Ultimate Stardew Valley Beginners Guide. In this video we will be tackling Winter, our main goal in our first winter is to complete the community center. Soon after completing the community center we will unlock Ginger island. Hopefully this video helps out quite abit.

I'm never in a hurry to get to Ginger Island, I'm too busy getting my farm set up just how I want it and leave going until the second winter. Instead I work on the winter seeds. I have usually got most of them before winter starts from the travelling cart and can plant 30 seeds on day 1 or 2. I use the better speed grow on them and they mature in 5 days. That usually gives me around 70 seeds and so on. By the end of winter I have around 300 planted and my foraging is at 10 so I get a healthy amount of money. Not as much as going to Ginger Island but I prefer this approach, as i want to go to Ginger Island without feeling rushed.
Pro tip: you can plant fibre seeds on winter and use them to hold the hoed ground until spring comes

I always did love winter season the most. Maybe it's cause I'm from a tropical island, so I want what I'll never have. Ginger Island means I don't have an excuse to slack off in winter hahaha
I’m assuming she’s using a mod, because the grass doesn’t grow in the winter. Or have I been doing it wrong??
You can also buy all the seeds pierre sells from the Shady dealer in the night market. Every night he sells a different season mon-spring tue-summer wed-fall and its Pierre's prices too.

As a beginner, I would have found it useful to see what there is to do in winter if you don't have access to ginger Island yet; as making it to ginger Island year one is a lot to expect out of a beginner. Maybe info about the night market or the Christmas thing, I don't know.
