I think it’s safe to say that over the two years I’ve been releasing Terraria content that some of my earlier opinions have completely changed with time which is why today I thought we’d revisit something from way back in April of 22 concerning the one and only bogun from
My top five useless items video yeah I know this is looking like a bit of a 180 but hear me out for the longest of time I completely disregarded the potential hard mode use for this weapon with it suddenly being available to drastically more powerful ammunition so the question

Makes this weapon so interesting is just how early it can actually be obtained very simply just requiring you to head to your jungle at any time that could be minutes after creating your world for instance once you’re there we need to find the Beehive and defeat the queen be
Doesn’t matter how you do it as long as she dies and let me tell you out of all the preh hared bosses I absolutely suck at this one so please don’t take anything you see here as any form of advice either way though one she is down
As long as you’ve got vacant housing in your wild the witch shock to NPC should now move in almost immediately and then all you need to do is talk to the fellow and purchase the fabled blow gun from him for five gold right this was quite an easy one however before we go
Straight into Tes in it’s worth mentioning that in prehard mode the only thing this can fire up seeds not your normal seeds but seeds which act as ammunition have a chance of dropping from flowers and grass right it’s about time we looked at why I changed my mind
About this weapon in preh hard mode at least my point kind of still stands it’s God awful with an incredibly slow rate of fire and low projectile damage and to be honest compared to its worst version the blowpipe it only seems to be dealing about 80% more damage which is a lot but
Let’s be real should be expected and compared to other prehard mode range weapons like like the mini shark things aren’t looking very good however if we were to pull out the hard mode upgrade for the blow gun the dart rifle something interesting happens yeah its DPS doesn’t even break 100 which is
Crippling for where it’s placed in progression so I guess this only means one thing it must be the ammo botton attacking all variants of blow based weapons so this is where things suddenly become kind of insane with any of the free hard mode Dart significantly transforming its damage potential into
The stratosphere and Beyond with Cur darts being the best for groups iore darts being the best for tanky single targets and Crystal darts being the best for piercing and as you can see on the right crowd this preh hared weapon I previously deemed as useless is dealing
Well over a th000 DPS on this line of dummies and I think what really goes to show just how much the ammo is carrying this weapon is when we compare it to the D rifle again there isn’t much difference and even with the blow pipe just how crazy is to see a weapon
Designed for the first few minutes of your game dealing over a th000 DPS thanks the hard mode ammo okay then with this in mind let’s see how it FS against the real thing and well starting off with preh hard mode only it is kind of still a disappointment but who really
Cares when you can just kind of hang on to it and wipe out groups of mummies like this no problem later and once again due to how much damage the darts themselves add there really isn’t that much difference to that of the dart rifle the only limitation you may have
With this thing is against anything with high defense and health as at the end of the day it’s got that preh hard mod based damage so it hardly and chips this bio mimic but I mean with what I’m going to show you next that won’t even matter
Anymore of course a destroyer cheese now it is worth saying that you won’t be getting any star cannon time to kill with this thing but for it being obtainable post Queen B that is some pretty impressive numbers and is totally a viable weapon for this entire fight
Also if you want to hang on to the blow gun that little bit longer I found its iorn Crystal darts to work quite nicely against the queen slime and yeah there were obviously way better options out out there but the fact this is viable at all blows my mind to be brutally honest
Though this is about all she wrote as again the make bosses you’ll be there for hours so I definitely think at this point it’s worth upgrading to something else either way though even if you just hang on to this thing as a secondary you’ll already have a great weapon at

I was so wrong about this Terraria weapon… The Blowgun. Way back in 2022 during the early days of the channel, I made a top 5 video where I claimed the Blowgun to be a completely useless item. However, times have changed and after discovering a handful of Hardmode compatible darts, I think its safe to say that this thing has made quite the comeback, with it now been able to take down Hardmode foes despite been obtained in early pre-Hardmode! Day what 182 of asking for a pirate staff review personally for a weapon to only be good because of an ammo type kinda makes it less than on the scale of good or bad (yes the combo might be good in certain situations cough cough datalous storm bow and holy arrows) but it doesn’t automatically make the weapon good
blow gun is really good when you first start the ranged playthrough makeing it a amazeing ranged weapon when u start out

This is the best video you've ever made. Good job. Glad to see it being given the recognition it deserves for its hardmode performance. Most people would just never use it in hardmode, despite it being pretty decent with ichor darts and a great weapon to use while grinding for your next one.

When i did a Specialist Ranger playthrough and yeah, its basically the musket but with poison. the best part about it isnt even the dps, its the knockback. Makes exploring a breeze. Sure, there are way better options even in pre-boss like the musket and the minishark, but it is still quite a solid weapon. Darts overall are really op, shame that there are only 4 weapons that use them.
I just use it as a secondary, load it up with ichor darts and take out high defense enemies with a primary weapon like the nights edge

Still the worst weapon in terraria though.
At this point, i think you can make an hour long compilation of the weapon reviews that have a section explaining how they cheese the destroyer, poor worm guy.
The blowgun with ichor darts is a great auxiliary weapon against bosses well into hardmode, especially if you don't want to grind biome mimics for the dart guns

I wouldn’t use it as a primary weapon, but using the dart rifle as a constant ichor debuff is a hell of a way to get extra damage off. It splits into five darts (if memory serves right it’s been a while since I’ve played) can affect multiple enemies, and the darts themselves deal about 200 damage per debuff cycle. It’s insane for how versatile and quick it is to get
Seems to me as if most Terraria players are bad at Queen Bee.

I think a good upgrade/addition buff that could help this weapon is Hellstone darts. Less damage than hard mode darts but also inflicts OnFire!

Honestly, given what we've seen here, adding another blowgun ammo to late prehardmode could be all thats needed to put them back in the spotlight

ichor darts ignore a lot of defense, thats why in many speedruns they use blowgun to kill twins.

Finally a video that doesn't say that the blow gun and pip are crap. for awhile now I have advocated for the two weapons.
Dark weapons fall into the weird timing category. When you get them you either don’t need them at all, or you can get it but there’s better options.
It depends on how early you do queen bee. I usually never do queen until after skele, so it’s usually useless then. But the high base damage and poison makes it good for single targets if you do queen before skele and deer.
darts are easily the most op ammo type the only reason they are "bad" is they fall of quickly and every weapon that uses them would kinda suck without them
