Proving Firecracker Is Bad In Calamity (Terraria)
Well, “bad” is exaggerating a bit considering it’s viable in early Hardmode. However, when it’s constantly confidently claimed to be good if not overpowered in post-moon lord including against Terraria bosses like Yharon and Supreme Calamitas, it’s (finally) time I intervene.

I think cal giving so many free summon slots contribs to firecracker being worse than normal whips, since it'e hitrate will be lower than your minions (basically it wont benifit all the extra minions), while the "tag" multipliers applies to all the extra minions

Firecraker was already a lackluster post-plantera begin only usable with desert tiger and stardust dragon, not to mention it´s really short range in comparison to post-plant whips, tiki armor kinda saves it with it´s +30% whip range but thats about it. All this forgetting that desert tiger staff is much harder to obtain than other options and that by the time you get stardust dragon it is more than enough for Moonlord, both of these staff are the ones that benefit the most from firecraker post-plant and yet raven/deadly sphere staff with kaleidoscope is safer and has similar dps. And yet they nerf it…

I'm not a calamity player but it seems really stupid to me that someone would use a weapon that you get at the start of hardmode and still use it post moonlord
I stil don't understand whips that much but i find it funny that someone considered a weapon dropped by Wall of Flesh viable for Yharon

All I learned from this is I should use firecracker because I'm not a wuss
Firecracker is good if u have a minion that hits once and not multiple times an enemy , i guess sirius ( when u could use all the minion slots on it) would ve worked best. But seriously be honest here , kaleidoscope is Good up until endgame since it s large range and crit chance is usefull and safer than firecracker. And tbh u don t even need whip , the summoner is supposed to let his minions attack so the could dodge better , that s why is a glasscannon
