How Crops Grow – Stardew University #stardewvalley #stardew

How exactly do crops grow in stue Valley let’s dig in crops progress through phases as they are watered for example parms have four one-day growth phases so 4 days from plant to harvest starfruit have five phases 2 3 2 3 3 these modifiers reduce the time taken to grow

Crops by multiplying growth time by the combined discount examples let’s say we have a pass that we apply speed grow to 4 days multiplied by 0.1 gives us a 4 day reduction any partial days get rounded up so round up the4 to 1 remove one day from the growth cycle and the

Paret now grows in 3 days now say we have agriculturalist and we plant a star fruit with hypers speed grow multiplying the growth time of 13 days with the discount gives us 6 days to shave off so now it takes 7 days instead of 13 also crops don’t die if they’re not watered

They just won’t grow

Crops grow in phases. speed gro reduces the time spent in phases

Available discount days reduce phases evenly, starting from the first phase. The first phase cannot go below 1, but other phases can, and will be skipped

  1. Okay so this question has no practical use, but I noticed in the parsnip example that one of the stages got removed entirely due to the time reduction. How is it determined which stages the reduced days apply to?

  2. I have a question: coffee beans, with 10% extra growth speed, have a reduction in growth time from 10 days to 8 days, but this time should be 9 days instead of 8 days. What makes this happen?
