Terraria: Modded Madness — The Championship

It is time for the ultimate battle that will determine the winner of Modded Madness. Mutant vs. Nihilus. Who comes out on top?

In Modded Madness, I have set up a tournament where I have selected a pool of 68 bosses from a large assortment of mods, and put them in a bracket to determined out of participants which one emerges on top.

  1. What a great finale to this series. Glad it happened. I hope more people in the future do things like this with terraria mods. Maybe I'll try, when school aint a problem. Good on ya.

  2. Nihilus' second phase did 5 times the damage it was supposed to do, which explains why it killed mutant so fast. My mutant lost around 25% health when clashing phase 2s as I didn't nerf Nihilus but buffed mutant's attack by 5x and set the multiplier to 5x instead of nerfing Nihilus to 0.2x attack, effectively giving the whole fight a 25x multiplier for the whole fight.
Same glitch happened to SCal by the way, Nihilus doing 5x the amount of damage he's supposed to do in his second phase.
This is because the Nihilus 1st phase and Nihilus 2nd phase are registered as different entities in the code, and both share the damage glitch against NPCs, so it's easy to make the mistake of not nerfing Nihilus' second form.
When I bumped Nihilus' base damage of his second form to 5x and kept the first form as normal, I got results similar to that of the video, down to even the same damage numbers, but due to a few glitches involving despawning mutant skipped one of the platform attacks which made him exhaust all the invincibility phases and kill Nihilus with the final deathray. Without the despawn ruining everything and forcing me to warp them, mutant would've lost that fight, similar to what would happen in the video.
Since the plot has already been written, Nihilus can take this W, and it makes for a better story. However, I think you should give S. Cal and Mutant a rematch against Nihilus with their stats properly equalized.

tl;dr smash mod is funny and glitched Nihilus' damage to be skyhigh against other bosses, referee caught wind of that and patched his first phase but not his second.

  3. this truly was the modded madness of all time
interesting to see another interpretation of girus, cant wait for 2025 when their project comes into battle… Omega Janitor 🐈

  4. That was EPIC, easily the best modded tournament out there. Seeing Nihilus won was unpredictable and i love how you already have plans for a second part, who knows, maybe KS will return as an overlord… But that's just a theory. And Girus is similar to the redemption album concept, thing that i like very much. See you next year Spectra!

  5. Yup like i said before, to defeat mutant u just need more invulnerable state, like desperation phase or where the boss cant be damaged until something has been done or the attack finished. That aside. I wonder what will happen if Nameless joining this battle? Probably going into 2 ot 3 place

  6. incredible… the mutant (in eternity, to be fair, this is still not the maximum of his strength) was really defeated! I even expected something like the last words of a mutant or deviant, to be honest… an incredible ending! I'll wait for the next videos.

in the meantime… relax… you deserve it (get into the coffin, doom guy :D)
