Trout Derby – Is it Worth Your While? Stardew Valley Update 1.6. KitaDollx Games

Hello friends my name is k doll and welcome to my channel ladies gentlemen and non-binary friends do you like fish do you like prizes do you like standing in front of a river with a bunch of strangers well it’s your lucky day today I’m going to take a look at the stardew valley Trout Derby a new event added in the 1.6 update I’ll try to give you an idea of what to expect during the event and whether it’s worth checking out so beware of some very minor spoilers if you find this video interesting please please like And subscribe for more like this in the future with that being said let’s get into it one of the many new additions to stardy Valley from the 1.6 update is the Trout Derby event it’s a mini Festival that happens over 2 days on the 20th and 21st day of summer don’t worry there will be a sign by the river south of marne’s ranch letting you know a few days before the Derby comes to town since it’s a mini Festival it won’t ruin your day if you had other plans but if you want to try it out just head down to the cind sa forest and look for a horde of unfamiliar fishermen that aren’t at all grossed out by you the goal is to catch rainbow trout and get golden tags which can be traded in for prizes I don’t know where the tags came from but I like to imagine that the fish are all just holding them between their little fins and they hand them to me after I reel them in each Trout catch has a 33% chance of dropping a golden tag but if you can catch more than one at a time the chance goes up by 33% per trout so what kind of prizes can you get from the the friendly angler at the prize Booth well if you try to ask without any golden tags he’ll only give you an explanation of the event he won’t tell you what the prizes are in store but I will once you get some golden tags they can be turned in one at a time the first prize will always be one tent kit after that the prizes will follow a sequential list of 10 items although where along the list it starts is random the items are a bucket hat a crab pot three mystery boxes one diamond a mounted trout 20 Deluxe bait three triple shots of espresso one quality sprinkler three Farm warp totems and three Omni geodes if you start somewhere in the middle of the list it’ll loop back around to the beginning and if you finish the list it will also keep looping in the same order these rewards really aren’t bad especially for your first year and rainbow trout aren’t too hard to catch either even if you just sold all of your prizes if you get one of each that’s around 2,400 golde sigot and the mystery boxes not to mention all the fish you caught if you’re looking for rainbow trout it’s also a great way to stock up whether it’s to stock up a fish pond make some trout soup or just sell outright it’s probably not going to make you tons of extra money so I understand if the hardcore players want to skip it but I would definitely recommend checking it out at least once all right so let’s say you want to get as many prizes as possible how can you get loads of golden tags and prizes I have a few suggestions that might help I started off using the sonar bobber and that worked pretty well since you can see which fish is on the line you can cancel the fishing miname right away whenever you don’t get a rainbow trout so you can quickly skip through any other fish that won’t give you golden tags if you have a bait maker you can use the rainbow trout that you catch to make targeted bait which will increase your chances at catching more rainbow trout if you’ve reached fishing Mastery challenge bait is another option to quickly get golden tags rainbow trout are pretty low difficulty catches and with a perfect catch challenge bait is all but guaranteed to get you a golden tag along with three rainbow trout caught at once otherwise whatever Bait and Tackle you can muster will probably be helpful the good news is even if you don’t get all of the rewards on the first day you can come back on the second day and pick up where you left off you can save golden tags even into the following years although you’ll have to store them somewhere if you don’t want your inventory to be crowded by unused tags I know this was kind of a short one today but I am really excited about all of the new events added to stardew Valley I know a lot of you might think that I only care about slimes fish ponds and mushroom logs but I really do like the social aspect of all of these new events as always I want to know what you guys think are you going to hit up the Trout Derby let me know in the comments if I missed something cool about Trout Derby or if you have any other tips on how to get more out of it if you made it to the end thank you so much for watching and if you enjoyed the video or learned anything new new please give it a like And subscribe or come say hello to me on Twitch until next time goodbye
