Dude what I love the pale gardens 😢
a mob that drops nothing, from a biome that does nothing, with no new materials or anything useful, doesn't introduce new materials from creatures that already drop nothing, with no new structures, with no new lore, with no new drops or loot, and with no uses for useless Minecraft features already implemented like candles, phantom membrane, clock, poisonous potato, dead bush, copper, amethyst, mundane or thick potions, and echo shards. this is just the Minecraft "grey decoration" update
I don't know why everyone is so mad, they are just doing what everyone suggested? I mean everyone said they should do smaller updates and not bother with the mob vote so they just are doing what they were told to do. But hey, maybe if they aren't so pushed to get TONS of new content out every year they will have time to fix more stuff like inventory management and game breaking (in a bad and not useful way) glitches that really need to be done before that much new content is added and it entirely breaks the game.
I just feel slightly betrayed that we have been promised upgrades to existing biomes for years and mojang says hey, heres a new one with little depth for the marketing of the scp style horror

if theres no0 mob vote dont do mc live. mob vote is fine as long as u add the others next year or smth. the hate towards it was cause u trash the other ideas, mc. do more and better, mc
they add stuff that doesn't add to the core gameplay, i could go the whole game without going to this forest, or going any place they added like the deep dark
We asked for smaller, quicker updates, and that's what we got… but I can't help but feel like there's no actual incentive to seek out this forest aside from if you happen to like the colour of the wood there. If they'd just added something cool or remotely useful for the Creaking to drop, they'd have gotten so much more value out of this update.
I'd hope they might revisit this one later to flesh this update out, but given their track record I think that is unlikely.
"everything online is animated" THE ONE TIME A COMMUNITY COLLECTIVELY DECIDES SOMETHING. Animated squares are slightly more interesting than not animated squares. Who'd of thunk.
I hoped the Pale Garden would be sort of like terraria evil biomes. You could possibly purify it into the not-pale Garden or smth.
If what we see is all we are getting there is so much missed potential and thats why I am not a huge fan.
I still do not miss the mob vote and even if they wanted to be different but they did in the worst way possible.
If the Minecraft live is prerecorded they should just call it Minecraft video

Big update gets split because it’s too big but eventually all comes out? Constant hate. (1.17-1.19)
Smaller updates that have all the content released at once? Constant hate. (1.20-1.21)
Confirmed smaller update between larger updates and the removal of the event that causes that most infighting within the community? Constant hate. (1.20.5 and the new bundles and pale garden)
Would y’all just be happier if they stopped supporting the game at all?
Like no shit you can burn down the forest, it’s a bloody sandbox game. God forbid they add a new biome that’s not tied to 1.22 (that you would then whine about being too small for a major update)

I do not get the hate for the creaking and the forest. I think that the mob is interesting, makes the game a little less boring while in the overworld. And though the mob itself doesn't drop anything, the only way to kill it is to break the block that is controlling it in the first place, there for, getting a drop.
The new wood type looks good for what it is in my opinion. "It's just another wood type." Ok and? People have been asking for more wood colors for years. Is adding white to the pallet of wood blocks so bad, along with a sorta sappy looking log block?
I like the creepy vibe of the new mob. I like the tone shift from the new biome. It adds more than people give it credit for imo. (Making custom maps, building, making challenges/challenge videos, traps, new particles to play with using commands.
I honestly think that it's shaping up to be a good update. (Assuming that I saw all of that on a Java version of MC. Bedrock still needs a lot more bug fixes before I even want to touch it again… Yes, I know that is a tall ask given how many things you can play the game on now.)

I really gotta stop interacting with this community, all they do is stomp on my excitement for every new update. Really its my fault cuz I already know they're gonna hate no matter what. I just want to interact with people that are excited like me, is that so much to ask? I think the Creaking is cool, I like the new wood type, I'm perfectly fine with small updates. Not every update needs to completely overhaul a portion of Minecraft, and even if every update did, you'd all still find SOMETHING to hate on. Nether update? "nooo I miss my objectively worse designed pigs!" Cave update? "I like the old ores more, f the color blind" Adding MORE to the cave update? "tHiS iS jUsT cAvE uPdAtE pArT 2" Only the Minecraft community is spoiled enough to complain about free updates to a timeless game.

All things aside, I think the Creaker is a cool monster. Certainly they'll enrich this expansion as time goes by.
I have a better name for the "minecraft live"… It'll be, the "minecraft shitshow".
At least it's clear what you're looking at. A long video where people talk to you like you're 3, with long heartfelt commentaries explaining what the hardcore mode is, another long commentary about a movie that is dead before it even released and delivering another underwhelming and honestly boring update. Istg, if that new biome was underground, it'd be like… a 1000 times better… it'd still be bad tho.

The pale forest is related to hollow knight, we know it's called the pale forest and there is the pale king and the white palace. They're obviously saying they'll release the next silksong trailer

I enjoy making menacing looking churches with graveyards. this update allow me to make them in the most perfect spots possible.

Bro the Minecraft live sucked! THEY ARE BRINGING OUT THE “MINECRAFT MOVIE” AND I HATE IT! They do have some good things though.
Highkey the main issue with this live was just the presentation. I really like the pale garden and the Creaking. But they didn't show anything to do with the biome other than the new blocks. Even if it wasn't ready simply just alluding to what you could do with the heart or what could be found in the pale garden, giving hints or a teaser. People are really blowing it out of proportion with the reactions but at the same time I can't blame them when really nothing was shown to make me actually care about the new stuff
I am getting so frustrated with the community. Like, coming from a perspective of an ACTUAL content drought in TF2 where the devs did jackshit for 7 years and let the game nearly totally collapse, Mojang is doing really well and listening to its community in comparison, and all we do is fricking bitch about it. People complain about the mob vote and how bad it is? Mojang removes the mob vote, now the community complains about that. People love the massive Nether update, Mojang does their best to follow up but stumble, community hates on that, Mojang promises to stop the big updates and come out with more frequent smaller ones? "Waaaah, why is this update so small?"
Sure, the pale forest biome looks kind of underwhelming at the moment, but is it necessarily finished? No! Are the pale oaks gonna be just the same as dark oaks? I hope not, I think it's a placeholder. But this community of an alive and thriving game, the most successful game in the world with devs who, for all their faults, actually listen to the community and release regular content, is one of the pissiest and most childish I've seen, and I think a lot of people will agree that it's damn tiring. I'm excited about a new scary mob with a pretty cool design coming out and a new wood colour, can we please stop expecting a masterpiece like the Nether or Village & Pillage Updates?
