  1. Something important to note about Vampire Knives is that while you do need 480/400dps to cap out the lifesteal, VK by themselves have a dps of 565.5 (29 x 5 (60/16) 1.04) (Damage x Average Knives Thrown (FPS/Use Time) Crit Chance), surpassing the dps required to cap it, due to defense this seems like a problem… but VK gets access to 2 sources of AP for free, being Ichor Flasks and Sharpening Station, giving 27 AP for free (15+12), along with that most people will have a few damage buffs already on their player (Tier 3 Well Fed minimum) and Godly/Demonic on VK will massively surpass the damage needed to cap VK.

  2. vampire knives being a greater healing potion every 5 seconds is why its the strongest weapon in the game, it alone completely nullifies classic mode, and on expert/master while on its own not enough to facetank bosses its enough to give you a massive survivability increase to the point you rarely die unless you miss a lot or get chain hit a lot, or lets you facetank even master duke with high defense.

  3. I haven't played enough Terraria to know if this is practical in practice, but I think it's neat how lifesteal debt theoretically encourages you to switch to a different weapon with higher DPS until you can lifesteal again.

  4. 1:48 I imagine the reasoning behind the shield bubble not giving life steal is because the shield isn't really supposed to be its own enemy and its "HP" is more of a damage threshold before the actual enemy, the alien inside, starts taking damage (think Halo's overshields). Making it an "enemy" was just the easiest way to have that functionality, like with destructible projectiles.

The other three though make no sense, I have no idea why they'd be immune to life steal, and I can't even think of anything all three have in common.
