I Ranked EVERY Craftable Item in Stardew Valley
The craftable items encompass everything from bait to bombs, and the usefulness of each item is just as varied! Plenty of items got buffs and nerfs in the last major update, so let’s take a look at them to see where they stand among the rest!
As stated in the video, the rankings are base both on the crafting recipe, and the crafted item itself if there’s other ways to obtain it, important for items like staircases and farm warp totems.
Sections:
0:00 – Intro
0:46 – The Bottom Five
3:59 – Almost Never Useful
7:38 – Okay but Outclassed
13:44 – Good but Niche
17:15 – Might as Well Use It
23:13 – Important for Any Playthrough
30:37 – Must-haves
34:46 – One of the Greats
37:20 – The Top 5

I feel like geode crusher has to go up a bit because a) the fact that it works 24/7, b) the convenience (you can just put a couple geode crushers by your base and throw what you get in there instead of having to head to clint), and c) the fact that it's used in perfection speedruns
One nice thing about the deluxe scarecrow is that it can cover a full Junimo hut plot by itself, vs. having to put two normal scarecrows on the sides.
I don't know if anyone's covered it, but the 1.6 or later change to randomization and how it effects old guides would be a nice small video. Some of your content I'm curious if everything still applies as legacy randomization technically had a huge impact on old ways of doing stuff.
Should not have been as excited as I was to see this. Needed some new Sal, just on time!
Dehydrator with blueberries or other "mass" fruits.
Something that I'm surprised concerned ape hasn't nerfed is that you should basically never put any fruit into wine barrels once you unlock the desert. You can buy honey on Friday for less than the base sell price of mead. A single keg can make 2 mead a day. You can skyrocket your money and essentially always have something to stick in your kegs with no farm land being devoted to the task.
With fairy dust on the list of things the raccoons can give you, I had enough to take my last batch of starfruit wine from gold to iridium all at once and finish my perfection save like a month faster than I would have otherwise and gosh I am forever grateful
22:37 Was that a bee pun?
This is a fun video.
I'm ready for my monthly reminder of why worm bin is garbage.
I get why theyâre in the middle for vanilla, but dehydrators and salal berries in stardew valley expanded are honestly a match made in heaven
Ok am I going crazy or did you miss the Seed Maker
For the algorithm, more thanks for providing great background for my workday. Can't wait for episode 23 of the SVE playthrough!
the geode crusher is (largely) useless, UNLESS you're playing with automate, in which case it becomes amazing
I whould put the tent kit way higher. Usually I use it for long skull cavern runs or something. Just go the day before, sleep at the entrance and go at it. Its pretty good early to mid game, when you dont have a billion totems or obelisks. It really saves some time… The tent kit is also a great item to stay longer in the mines or do stuff a little bit longer.
Yeah its maybe a bit expensive, but you are not using it every night. Its overall a pretty good item to have around…
(I dont like passing out at night. I try to always avoid it. I know the penalty is pretty minor and its whatever. But I just dont like to pass out in the mines or something. I rather take the extra effort to bring a tent kit hahaha)
I play with a friend and we can just all use 1 tent. So its also pretty good for multiple people…
crystalarium at the top… YES
for me the paths are just perfection
The mini forge lets you get away with only ever going to level 1 of the volcano. You really only have to find one dragon tooth because you can make a stingray fish pond to get more. With the volcano also being the only dungeon where staircases are useless thats a pretty big advantage for the combat averse.
I would have delayed this video so it comes out when 1.6 is released on mobile and console for more views and so on
Or do you have a video for then?
I think i only ever used the farming computer to check when the kegs in my shed was ready, before i realised i can just put a keg outside the shed to keep track on the kegs inside
The Sonar bober is better in multiplayer because the time is not stopped when you are fishing.
I agree with a great amount on this list except for maybe the heavy tapper as of 1.6. I use heavy tapper on mystic trees and the syrup comes so fast in comparison to the normal tappers on other trees. I use the mystic syrup to trade for fairy dust from the raccoons.
I think it is great for end game when you kinda quickly want some things done.
Intro was too good. Stop being so funny sal I have a wife and kids
I wouldâve counted âeasy to purchaseâ as a negative rather than positive – as in because you can acquire them elsewhere easily, they are less important to craft.
Damn, I realized how much I offset the cons of most of these items using mods
Thank you SMAPI and stardew modding community
i somehow ended up with both the mushroom cave and sooo many mushroom logs, so I have so many dehydrators, theyre perfect in the right set up!
i was gonna try to defend some of the low placements like the geode crusher, before remembering that i play with automate- which makes me realise a lot of these craftables would recieve a major buff by proxy if literally just the hopper got the ability to pull items in vanilla.
Iâve filled whole Ginger island with Deluxe Retaining Soil and ancient seeds. Itâs so awesome! Thatâs why itâs in my top 30 or even higher
Oh and the diy greenhouses are awesome
if sprinkler isnt 1 then the entire list needs to be rewritten
The beach totem has one very specific niche use: festival days. If there's a festival in town, it's the only way to access the beach, and it also puts you fairly close to the town entrance if you're cutting the time short.
i think the sonar bobber might be good for coop where your fishing time might be valuable since it doesn't pause time. i was contemplating using it while playing with my friend because catfish already take me a hot second to catch
My main use of challenge bait is for aquatic overpopulation quests that aren't for a specific kind of fish. Challenge bait + cork bobber + barbed hook knocks them out in like 8 casts, assuming you cast your line near the shore so you get lower level fish
Agree with almost all except beach totem. That is way more useful than alot of these
