These aren’t the only changes, there’s a bunch of balance changes as well, check out the patch notes here: https://www.stardewvalley.net/stardew-valley-1-6-9-changelog/

I swear tiktok just automatically swapped the font on those captions lol, just consider it some late Halloween spirit.

  1. There’s now a secret multiplayer feature in mobile👀you have to press the leaves on the title screen in a certain order, then the “?” button

  2. It’s been ages but I’m finally going to pick up Stardew again and boy do I need a cozy game where I sleep in a barn and hang out with my legendary fish friends!

  3. i think Legendary Fish Ponds should get a in depth video post nerf 1.6.13 vs lava eels for most gold per day and set up time like how starfruit wine sell for more but ancient fruit wine is easy to set up in the late game

  4. The new bed placement abilities is weirdly making me sooooooo happy. That plus the tents I no longer have any excuses to pass out!!! (But watch me still do it anyway)

  5. HONEST SPOILER ALERT

PC players hyped up the 1.6 update so badly, but in reality, it's very empty with nothing to do and it's full of bugs and glitches. My favorite part of the update is putting a hat on your cat, and the game crashes! Or how using fireworks or bombs on splitscreen crashes the game! Or how the raccoon shop doesn't actually expand after completing their time-consuming requests! Oh, or maybe it's how the petals that float across the screen throughout the seasons decide to bug out and clump up in a vertical line that slowly drags across the screen. Nah, it's actually how every Volcano Dungeon floor turns into the ground floor entrance for the splitscreen player if they choose to enter without their player 1 host! The entire raccoon "storyline" is completely useless since you can find the crops they sell in special worm spots. And they have no personality whatsoever. Just shopkeeper NPCs who happen to be animals. Pepper Rex still obliterates the frame rate with his fire blast attack. Only a small amount of the Books of Power do anything worthwhile. The Statue of Blessing is another waste of time and resources as there are only 2 blessings that are worthwhile. Completing the Mastery Cave gives you nothing but a pat on the back from Gramps. There are no new areas except the Mastery Cave, which is just a tiny room. Moss is the primary resource of the entire update. Everything except moss has basically only one purpose, and that's to move you along to something else. The new festivals are boring, and they reuse ideas that are already in the game. There is absolutely nothing to do in this update that can't be achieved in a single weekend.

The only two unique parts about this update that I found interesting were the new Trinkets and the Green Rain weather event. Unfortunately, the Trinkets aren't as in-depth as the Forge was from 1.5. Once you complete the thrilling rush to collect mossy seeds and as much moss as possible during the Green Rain event, you really have no reason to play it again the next year. Two unique ideas were swept under the table for one big cutesy "quality of life" update. The raccoons should've been Trinket merchants as raccoons dig through trash to collect things they find useful. With the massive tree crashing down, it should've opened up a larger portion of the Secret Woods where the Bear lives. Trinkets should've been primarily summoning creatures that leveled up as you defeat enemies with them equipped rather than skipping that process with the Anvil. The Green Rain should've attracted new types of fish as well as Slimejacks.

The Mutant Bug Lair is still useless. The Spa is extremely useless and still has no swimming summer event. The train station could be removed, and most of the players wouldn't even bat an eye because it serves the smallest purpose. Why not have a project for Robin to open a tunnel between the Dwarf shop and the Quarry Mine after reaching specific requirements? The amount of EXP you get from the bookseller is less than you'd get from just grinding in the mines for a day. There's no storyline in this update whatsoever. Leo's story in 1.5 tops everything this update brought to the table, which is my game crashing every 3-5 in-game days of local splitscreen co-op from extreme lag and massive frame rate drop. The 8 months of waiting was supposed to ensure it would be ready for console/mobile players. "You can now play with 8 players!" ConcernedApe, I can't even sit on my couch to play the game with my wife. And they had one of the best Terraria melee weapons added only to be a joke of a weapon that can't even shoot out a NYAN cat beam.

  6. Lmao, I definitely had a super-rare, near-impossible artifact drop (prismatic shard, maybe?) land directly into the lake near the start of my last playthrough. Pretty sure I just closed the game and didn't look at it for a week.

  7. Omg, I didn't know about the new shop!!! I lost my Stardew Hero Trophy due to a bomb I accidentally put down, and didn't realise until many many days later…I was devastated but pressed on.. But now, I can finally get my trophy back!!! 😭💖

  8. Items floating on water for a sec would have been helpful a few weeks ago when i tried giving my friend all the fish i had to donate to the aquarium bundle only for them to plummet back to the sea save for 1
