  1. The real "minecraft player goes to Terraria" experience seems to be ignoring the existence and concept of platforms and building stairs with raw blocks to traverse the world…

  2. Seeing you start digging diagonally made me remember just how much people have Minecraft in mind when they first start this game when in reality that mindset will often slow you down or not lead you to do things you normally would

  3. Big difference between Minecraft and Terraria.

Minecraft is designed to be a relaxing game.
Terraria is designed to make you want to commit toaster bath.

My first reaction when I first played Terraria was "Holy shit, I have a sword, pickaxe, AND axe ALREADY? I'm already a God the devs are stupid for giving me these!"
Yeah my 7 year old brain didn't know that being given tools upon creating your world just means the game is going to be absolute Hell.

By the way, little pro-tip, your health will regenerate faster when sitting in a chair.

  4. So, i've been playing terraria since the alpha and let me tell you, I have completely forgotten what it is like to experience terraria for the first time. Your video was really good and I LOVED watching it! I would love to see you continue this blind playthrough. Try to avoid spoilers at all costs unless you get really really stuck!
Consider me subscribed because I really want to see where this goes!

  5. Tip: there are classes in terraria, you must choose a class (the classes are: melee, range, mage, and summoner.) Before hardmode because in hardmode there is Armour sets dedicated to certain classes. You can tell what class the weapon is by opening inventory and clicking the weapon, if it says "range damage: ___" it's a range and so on. (Another tip: when you defeat the wall of flesh you automatically enter hardmode)

  6. Please do a series and also talk to the guide a lot he gives you tips and also how to craft stuff (very important)
also the way you see if a house is suitable is through the house button on the far right of your screen in the inventory (important to know)
Your house isn't suitable because it's missing a chair on the bottom level and there's a hole in the floor on the top level

  7. I saw this last night recommended to me and it has 800+ views and i was like "oh just another small youtuber trying out a new game" it has 7.6k views now in just a few hours

  8. yeah, the initial blind first map, i remember dropping the game after failing miserably after 2 days XD it gets way more interesting once you get some accessories, i have abt 2000 hours in it now lol

  9. no one is to spoil a dam thing for this one I have already seen people get put off by others constantly pushing knowledge on newbies, let them learn there own way please and thank you, let them enjoy the not knowing till they figure it out and if they want to spoil it they can do so there self at the wiki ✌, hope you have an awesome time with the game there is a lot to explore

  10. As a pro of both Minecraft and Terraria, Minecraft is great because it holds a lot of nostalgia, especially in its music, and Terraria is great because of great bosses, equally great music to Minecraft's music, more items than you know what to do with, events and event bosses, structures that actually have a purpose beyond looting, a better game developer company in Re-Logic and better people developing the game who actually listen to their fanbase and produce quality updates that are actually fun and useful. I think the biggest thing that, in my opinion, makes Terraria a superior experience to Minecraft is the fact that you always want the most recent version of the game because it makes all older versions seem less fun and less full. With Minecraft however, the best version of the game to play of all time was released 9 years ago as of writing this comment, version 1.8.9.

  11. You know, I don't remember interface being explained anywhere, and most players don't bother explaining it, so – Interface time!

First things first, inventory button. It's Esc by default which annoys everyone, you and me included. Personally advice to swap bindings with Tab which is occupied by Toggle Map Style (more on that later) although feel free to choose any other button or keep it as is!
Now, things get drastically different when you open inventory, so let's start without it:
    – The main element of UI at that point is the hotbar. Scroll with the mouse wheel or use numbers to quickly select your most needed items. Try to fill it with useful items to prevent, let's say dirt, from entering it, as the hotbar slots are the first to be filled. Also try not to put counterproductive items next to each other – panic scrolling to teleport is always a thing, after all! Note that using items from hotbar with LMB and RMB sometimes has different effects, depending on the item held!
-Underneath it are your buffs, debuffs, pets and more! Always keep track of your status effects if you don't want to die from unexpected poison or wondering why you can't place blocks (if you're even doing that event lol).
    – To the right is your minimap, health and mana. Equally as important as your hotbar, it requires close attention! Not much to say about Hp and mana in terms of UI, other than that their style could be changed in settings or the pause menu (more on that later). Same applies for minimap, although you can also: shrink and increase it, return to default, but most importantly – toggle between modes. Remember earlier I told you about Toggle Map Modes? Yeah, this button quickly cycles between disabled minimap (doesn't occupy screen space), enabled minimap (useful for caving and travelling) and full screen transparent minimap (this one has a very niche, but immaculate use).
Now we are done with the regular UI, which is… oh god we just began

Opening inventory changes a myriad of things, let's get em covered:
    – First things first, the inventory proper. It appears below your hotbar, and allows all sorts of management. For example, hovering on item with your mouse allows to see it's description – stats, possible actions, whenever it's a material or not, and more. Items rarely have hidden properties that aren't mentioned in the description, so make sure to study your items. Additionally, you can select each item im inventory with LMB, and specifically interact with it with RMB (like quickly equipping armor or accessories or opening presents and more) DO NOTE, clicking on items is different than clicking with items. Items that you hold from left clicking could be used as normal outside of inventory space using LMB and dropped entirely with RMB. Phew, thats a lotta words One other thing to note is favorite items. By holding a special button you can favorite items to prevent them being deleted, sold, sorted and more. Consider it anchoring items in your inventory!
    – To the left of the inventory is special toggles. Those are mostly useless for non-builders, so you can ignore them completely. Although you can always see what they do, it's your playthrough after all!
    – Below inventory's last slot is the trash slot. Whatever you dislike or don't need you can toss inside. To quickly delete many items hold trash key and chain your LMBs. Alternatively, if you need just one more slot, you can use it like that, although if you die, exit the game or delete something else – say goodbye to whatever was inside…
    – Directly right if the hotbar is "next achievement". It can act as a sort of progression guide, although it doesn't always work like that. Check it when you're unsure what to do.
    – Below achievement, to the right of inventory are your coins and ammo. Part of your coins is always dropped on death, so you may want to keep it somewhere safe (or as blocks, nothing could take them like that!) As for ammo, anything that is "ammo" in description can be put there – quite useful for any character, not just ranged one!
    – Below coins and ammo are two useful buttons – Quick Stack to Nearby Chests and Sort Inventory. This does exactly as stated to non favorite items. It's that simple!
    – Below them are final two buttons of inventory section – Bestiary and Emotes. Emotes are a fun feature, mostly for RP-ing, multiplayer, nice photos and more. Beatiary, on the other hand in very important – it's like a portable wiki! You can read about enemies and their stats, NPCs and their happiness factors (no, I'm not explaining it, it's already too much). Also, filling the Bestiary out expands shop of one… uuuhhhhhh…. charming NPC. You'll understand when you see her… shop.
-To the left and below is crafting interface. Scroll through it with a mouse wheel or use a Crafting Window to "quickly" select the recipe, and craft the item. Has the same look as guide's crafting advices, and that similarity leads to a very funny glitch that's currently used in the top speedruns (although I prefer Philosophical Stone glitch)
    – Below your minimap (or just right if it's disabled) is your character menu. It has three slots for armor and five (by default, may vary) slots for accessories. Directly to the left of those slots are visual slots – items there only contribute to your look. Even more left is paint slot, that affect the items to the right of it.
    – Near your character slots is your armor count. Without going into details, it decreases damage received, down to 1. You or enemies cannot receive less than one damage, although mods (cough cough calamity cough cough) can change that. Also, effectiveness of armor depends on difficulty.
On top of character slots, there are three buttons that don't look like buttons – circly chain thingy (Equipment), a house (Housing) and a camera (Camera Mode).
    — Equipment has special slots for various things. Technically, most of those can be used from the inventory, so equipping them in special slots is really just a QoL. Also, paints also work here!
    — Housing is the most important of three. You can check whenever a house is suitable for an NPC and assign them to a certain house, which ties in with the happiness system (still won't explain), and see what NPCs are present in the world.
    — Camera mode should be self-explanatory

    – To the left of minimap there are buttons that do the same thing as Toggle Map Mode and also open World Map (also has a keybind). Really not a popular set of buttons all things considered.
    – Slightly right of your character slots are your loadouts – for when you want to have several alts that do different things (fighter, fisher builder, miner etc) without having to either keep all things in an inventory or ina chest somewhere. Can be quickly swapped with F1-F3. Really good for slot scumming (just ONE more slot)

Finally, there's Settings button to the bottom right. That's the pause menu (in singleplayer at least), and has some settings you can alter. Most important one to mention is auto pause – it makes everything stop when inventory is open (very useful when you want to organize your inventory without dealing with three quadrillion zombies)

And that's pretty much it. There are still things like Smart Cursor, but honestly, this already took WAAAAYYYY tooo long to type out. But this is the most important thing to tell: have fun! Play any way you want, hoard all the items you can and see what the game has to offer! Don't forget that Terraria fans are not only attracted to new players, they are also very pushy (hell, look above – there's somewhere about 1000 words of recommendations!), so the fans may act in poor taste. Don't take it too personally, for they are not malicious, but curious. Take care!

  12. Funny how i never beaten minecraft despite creating like 100 diffrent world and then giving up after obtaining iron and sometime diamond

Where as in terraria i went ahead and played till the end and even did some exploration to to check out diffrent stuff on same single world

  13. Hello, happy to see a new Terraria player !
Let me give you a few spoiler free tips :
    – This is the most important tip : use the Guide NPC, by speaking it with "Help", he will tell you one thing you can do in order to progress, if you don't know what to do. And in crafting, he can tell you anything you can craft with an item you have, so you can easily check what you can do.
    – Above your armor, there is a house icon, it's here that you can manage housing. It's also here that the game tell you what is needed for a house.
    – When you open a chest, there is a button to take all.
    – Once a chest is empty, break it, it's a free chest that you can reuse.
    – Craft platforms (they cost one wood), they are very cheap and much easier to use than any block for platformings.
    – Break pots.
    – Try to click the rail 🙂 (don't break it).
    – And yes, you did get killed by a boulder trap, there was a pressure plate barelly visible.

  14. you did super well man, im a minecraft and terraria veteran , it took me hours to figure out crafting, this game takes time and patience to get into but its rewarding, dont give up ,try to experience things go in blind, use wiki for crafting recipes because yes you will need it a lot until you memorize it. all the best

  15. cant wait for you to finish the game to break your brain on the mods after xD everytime you think it cant get better and more crazy, it just does it in the blink of an eye

  16. Bro PLEASE press ctrl🙏
It enables "smart cursor" which makes mining, placing walls and placing other certain things a lot easier, although i would recommend disabling it while building houses

  17. So here a bit of a personal advice on how to check if the house is suitable for NPC, there is a small house Icon near armor and accessory slots its NPC housing menu and clicking on on question mark then on room lets you check if its suitable, suitable rooms need: any chair, table, light source, have walls and spot for npc to stand on, hope this is helpful and have fun in this large sandbox
