Fun fact: minecraft dolphins are a bit broken and when you are far enough they freeze in place. Too bad they need air to survive so they end up drowning 🤦
I can't believe you missed the opportunity to name one of the squids, Squidward. Or the Octopus, considering Squidward is an octopus. Though Poseidon is also a sick name. Greek mythology is always a good choice when you're scratching your head for names.

What about name tags
You should start building containment chambers. I have chickens in a castle, but I didn't want them getting loose. So I made a two chamber containment area for them. There is the initial entry room, then an isolation room, then finally, the actual chicken coop. The furthest out they have made it was to the entry room. If you use the same concept for your villagers that might help, or you know, maybe use a metal door with a button/lever combo for access

Just a tip frogs in minecraft are mostly out of water so the octopus might cause their death bc they can climb on it then climb out😅

Pretty sure your dolphins will be dying faster than your squids, sadly – as their AI is really, really bad.. They literally drown themselves as they do need air like in real life, but completely stop moving when the player gets out of a certain range. So you cannot keep them alive other than in a bubble tank.
Tootsie! You should make windmill to go in the wheat field in front of your base!! Maybe you could store the villagers in there!

Just a thought (cuz I’d love to swim there sometimes just to see it underwater) – how about some lily pads at the surface (just a few, away from any edges because frogs) so you can get out of the water and fly when you want to head out? Plus the turtles and frogs will have a place to chill in the sun/moonlight.
