nah i think the seasons update is just speculation. it would be a pretty big overhaul technologically speaking and i think it might mess up worlds when updating, which they don't want. there's also a lot of edge cases they need to consider like, "what if there is a chunk that was last loaded in mid-winter but now it's late summer?" that chunk would have snow in it even though it's summer
i think it's gonna be more similar to the cherry blossoms update, with some other features, but that's not to say a seasons update wouldn't be fun

It's the romance update, where you can give flowers to villagers and then go on a beach episode for a month.
One of the flowers is closed one is open. Clear similarity with eye blossoms. Sun and calensar could represent time of day which is what the state of eye blossoms depend on. So maybe something more to do with the pale garden and especially the eye blossom
Edit: As an addition the eye blossom seems slightly out of place, it has a few of its own cool mechanics but at least i feel like it isn't tied to anything that well
The 🌹 emoji equates to the wither rose because there is only one rose emoji when the rose bush is 2 blocks tall
That being said, the wither rose comes from the Wither, which is a boss. You know what else is a boss? Thats right. The ender dragon.
The 🌸 emoji corresponds to the chorus flower because it is purpleish. That flower is only obtained from the end.
The ☀ emoji relates to the day night cycle. This shows how the end may get one in the following update
The 🗓 emoji is refering to how long the end lore runs. The ancient builders evolved into endermen and that took many many many years. The emoji shows that concept and how it will be expanded on in the End Update.

As much as I love some of the updates, I wish Minecraft was as simple as it used to be. I still play Minecraft on my Xbox and I play Xbox 360 version, it’s so much more peaceful and more minecrafty, if u get what I’m saying. The modern Minecraft doesn’t really give off Minecraft vibes that much as it’s changed way too often.
If its a seasons update, they should tie some gameplay mechanics to it.
Although knowing mojang, it'll probably just be purely visual yet still somehow lack atmosphere.

While the flowers, the sun and the calendar may suggest that, that only could say about spring and summer, where are the emojis for fall and winter?. If it was a seasons update they would have put a flower, leaf, snowball and calendar or something like that to show all the seasons

I think seasons feel way to modded
what if they make certain areas in the world (spanning multiple biomes) locked in certain seasons (with the season being changeable with a new block or item)
I have said in the past that people who think that Minecraft is worse than it used to be are objectively wrong, because a game cannot get worse just due to new features being added. But if there is a seasons update, i am worried. Seasons can get quite obtrusive, and there are many ways they can mess it up.

i think the best exemple of seasons we can get in minecraft, are in the Better than adventure modpack, but i would think that something like in minecraft right now would lead to world corruption.

If they do end up adding seasons, I really hope they'll make it easily togglable. It would suck to have an established world with builds with aesthetics and atmosphere already in place, only for it to forcibly change in a way out of your control.

One flower is closed, the second one is next to the sun and opened… so maybe we're finally getting photosynthesis!
i think its a season thingy but not overhauling something, instead it can be flower – certain plant will only grow in = either spring which is the pink flower emoji, or summer which is the sun emoji, and the calendar basically just confirms its a certain time of year thing which will maybe prove what i said

I feel like, knowing that this is a teaser that may be in the early stages of an update, that we shouldnt think it would be a massive massive feature. They would want to ease into a bigger feature, rather than just drop the new big item/focus so early.
Given this, i like to imagine that there may be something in this update to do with a new flower type, or a new biome that relates to flowers, which many people say. But i think a bigger concept is that there will be a budding system for flowera, that closes and shuts like the eyeblooms or whatever from the pale garden. Something that changes with the days in a minecraft world, but not so drastic as to be a seasonal change? Idk
