  1. theres actually a ukrainian dish similar to pierogi, called varenik(plural vareniki) :3 pretty much the same tho its usually fruit and berry stuff inside, meat is less common

  2. hello, brazilian here, allow me to explain some references and, as the mod author put, "give context"

15:28 the statue is christ the redeemer, the “big jesus” located in Rio de Janeiro

15:46 i have no clue what’s the “magic bow” thing is

15:49 the “French Bread with Fried Egg” and other variations of the “french bread” are well, that, “french bread” with some sort of filling, being it steak, egg, even hot dogs some times, they’re not the same as white bread, they ressemble more baked good

16:33 the Curupira is, as you said on the video, a folk lore character, he’s a guy with fire-like hair and backwards feet to confuse illegal pouchers, he’s the guardian of the forests

19:47 the “golden coxinha” is a reference to “coxinha” a VERY popular food here in brazil, it’s deep fried doug. The most commum flavor of coxinha is chicken and chicken & catupiry (a type of cream cheese)

19:51 “Wind pastels” is a traditional pastry, most communly sold with garapa (sugar cane “juice”)

20:35 i’m assuming by the name, the portal thing is a reference to the term “tekoá” or “tekoha”, wich means “village” on tupi guarani (one of many native lenguages of brazil) but I have no clue what it’s ment to be

20:47 the Caatinga is one of the many biomes of brazil, it’s mostly localized on the northeastern part of brazil, it’s similar to a desert

21:29 I’m 99% sure the pots were just a bug, cuz I’ve never seen anything like that on brazil lol

21:37 The biome you’re in is a reference to the serra das capivaras national park, wich literally means “capybara hills”. The national park is notable due to it’s vast collection of artifacts and cave paintings

22:15 The biome is a reference to the “lençóis maranhenses”. The national park is a desert of sorts, but insted of the normal 10 in of rain by year, it has around 47 in

22:19 caipirinhas are a pretty commum drink here, it’s a cocktail made from pinga/cahcaça (brazilian rum) and some other fruit, the most comum is lemon

22:20 Açaí is a fruit that’s normaly eaten in for of a ice cream like texture, normaly with a lot of other things like molten chocolate, paçoca, grape, banana etc

22:25 the flotie I also have no clue what’s it’s referencing

22:25 The glasses are a reference to the popular “juliet glasses”, a commum accessory in any funkeiro wardrobe

22:56 The ceramic Copacabana floor is a floor that is very commum in brazil, specially around the state of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro

22:57 The structure is most likly a bar

23:36 The biome is a Ypê forest, the ypê are some of the most cool trees we have here in brazil, i would recomend googling it

23:38 i’m assuming the jungle biome is either the amazon rainforest or the Mata Atlântica, a almost extinct biome in brazil localised on the shore lines

27:27 Now you’ll need a bit of context for this one, the “Extraterrestre de varginha” is referencing a old-ish thing that happened here around the 80-90s. A citty by the name of Varginha had become a popular city due to it’s suposed UFOs sightings, and when the internet came along, all the alien thing became a meme, and it’s the only thing the city in known for

    28:40 Paçocas are pronunced “paˈsɔka”

28:53 The Pau Brasil is a VERY important tree for the brazilian history, it’s what named the country (pau menos wood and brasil means a reddish/amber-like color). The portuguese raided the country in find of riches, and one of them was the wood, due to it’s pigment used for dyes

29:35 Oooookayyy, now time to give context, as the achievment said, those garden chairs are a staple on brazilian houses, the most commum one is the white one, wich is more “residential”, the yellow one has a “skol” brand logo attatched to it, “skol” is a very popular beer brand in brazil, almost every bar has those yellow chairs

30:12 the “gas seller” was a commum meme here, followed by a earr4p3 of a stupid music, in brazil most ovens use a combination of butane and propane gas to run, the gas canisters, normaly sold by someone on a truck with a blue outfit (yes, the’re most comunly sold on a fricking truck) are a pretty huge part of brazil due to it’s being a basic thing everydoy uses on theyr day-to-day lives

30:12 Pamonha is a boiled paste made from sweet corn whisked in coconut milk, typically served wrapped in corn husks.

32:05 The good ol’ “voting machine”. Here in brazil we have those eletronic poles thingy, we don’t use paper, and the sound that it does wen you right click it is the actual sound those make when you finish voting

32:25 the “coin managing machince” i have no clue what’s rferencing

33:24 the “giving context” is a meme here in brazil, a lot of ppl when they get exposed/cancelled will say things like “there’s context” and things as such (i think that’s what’s its refering to, or maybe the fact that those chairs are like, 90% of brazil’s identity)

33:33 the “Filtro de barro” (mud filter) is another thing that’s found here that’s pretty commum, the filter uses packed mud to filter sink water

sorry for the long text and bad english,

  3. The watermelon strip is a kind of avatar for people(mostly used by women) to say something without showing their face and mix it with AI dubbing. (the storys they tell are usually silly)
Prawn Head Man is used to describe some male who make people feel disappointed and ruined the atmosphere (often mentioned is those watermelon strip videos)

  4. I would also add that pierogi can be filled with mushrooms and cabbage(most popular for Christmas here), with meat, with cheese or they can be made out of cheese like “Leniwe”(it’s like sweet and little bit different than regular pierogi but like the same category haha). It’s popular to have pierogi with strawberry with yoghurt on top of it(most common during summer when we have season for strawberries). Other type is pierogi with berries(it leaves you with blue tongue haha). And you can’t forget about “kopytka” it’s like leniwe but with meat sauce instead sugar.

Also to be clear Mariusz “Pudzian” Pudzianowski is a strongman, you can find his performances on YouTube. He is like on of the most popular athlete from Poland around 2000s. Polish people love him very much to this day – he has a lot of respect here and is like pretty cool guy.

And last but not least- Robert Makłowicz is like Kratzy said culinary critic, he travel around Poland and try our regional dishes, cook many of them, he has(or had I’m not sure) his own program on tv. He is pretty cool guy too, and has not funny but very specific way of talking like smoothing but expressive(you can find short videos of him on YouTube too and check it yourself[tbh I recommend it haha]). By his way of talking and popularity he now talks in tramways in one of the bigger cities(krakòw maybe wrocław, but I’m not sure either) what people here love.

Bursztyn is like mineral, most of polish people love to collect it on early mornings on the beach here, it’s fun activity to do. Bursztyn is used to do jewellery, statues, paintings, “nalewka” for your health, for some furniture, well you can use it wherever you want but most of the times it’s pretty expensive – a lot of tourists buy it as a souvenir.

As a Polish person, I didn’t expect Poland here but it’s fun thing to see😇

  6. 2:51 that’s because it was heavily inspired by Nico Nico Douga, which was a Japanese video-sharing website that was popular in Japan back during the 2000s. YouTube didn’t really become big in Japan until the mid-to-late 2010s.
