The size inconsistencies of Minecraft's insects are so goofy…bees are only like two to three times larger than fireflies and yet they're most likely going to be added with the size comparison of dogs to ants, also why are spiders as large as pigs, now that's the scariest version of Charlotte's web

I recommend watching IBXtoycats video because he said we're probably going to see more missing promised features come in the game. So likely fireflies and the birch forest upgrade (hence the flowers tease)

What if they added a new biome maybe called the meadow or something which could be the garden of the pillagers which would have the fireflies and maybe in that update they would add the seasons. This idea also explains the reason for them updating/tweaking tons of saplings and plant textures
We need more cave biomes or an End update. Though a Birch Forest update wouldn't be bad as well.

If Mojang adds fireflies, it would be a cool mechanic if fireflies could somehow be embedded in resin like how bugs can be encased in Amber. That resin could then be crafted into a new light block. Not realistic but would be cool.
