What If Minecraft Had Alternate Timelines?
Minecraft’s plot is pretty well-solved at this point, making projecting new stories onto it a little difficult. But what if we added something zany to encourage a new approach?

Alt. Timeline for end:
One where it was updated
Hmm
An Ending End-The End is actively falling apart, special decayed/desiccated endstone that acts like sand and that falls apart when you mine a block of it or one too close to it makes up large parts of now much more scarce and smaller End Islands. The Few remaining areas left Standing are either held aloft by the end cities and their ships or kept packed together by Chorus Plants. The Central End Island, the one with the Ender Dragon is special, as numerous Void Ships have seemingly fled here and a few fragile islands seem to have been towed here, mayhaps there is even an End City here, to make up for this there are MANY more Endermen that Spawn here as they have fled the crumbling realm.
The Begining (gotta workshop that name)-The End that has been colonized by Villagers and Pillagers. End Islands are stitched together with overworld wood, Chorus Trees are planted and Harvested, allowing the settlers to have wood. Special de-saturaters can sap the Chorus Fruits Teleporting Energy to make it safe to eat. Moats and Barriers of Ice and Water (or maybe a new teleport resistant block) are used on islands with Endermen to keep them out of settlements and Pillager camps have cages with Villagers inside them. Parts of the End have overworld grass and large light blocks that mimic the sun, allowing small patches of greyish grass to grow in the End and to allow farming. (This may be too hard to implement but some villages could even have offering tables left out for the Endermen, who will pick up the blocks left there and not touch the village)
Ending The (Over)World (can you tell i like the end)-Endermen have invaded the Overworld, scattered areas with Endermen in small alien settlements, the grass is being turned into something like the End, the grass and stone are turned into weird corrupted blocks and eventually fully into Endstone, Chorus hybridise with and eventually replace regular trees and a Semi-Freindly variant of Endermen that can be traded with like Piglins (or if you wanna be really radical, villagers) can be found in these small settlements and if you wear a pumpkin mask, can be traded with.
Fallen Sky-The Overworld's sky has fallen, or more accurately, its atmosphere. Because of this there are pockets of airless areas, filled with dead trees, baren soil and maybe frozen oceans spanning between still living areas. If you build an enclosed area connected to the breathable areas or with plants inside it becomes livable, but since plants cant grow in this baren area, you need to place the plant down directly, giving use to flowers and shears. Small domed villages can be found. Alternativly could combine this with floating islands to make the surface world unbreathable but the islands breathable, so bases on the ground are required to mine for rarer materials you cant find on the Islands.
Lazy one: Ender Sky, Floating islands but the islands are Ender Islands. Lazy as hell but it seems sick.
Aether Islands(Pretty blatantly taken from the mod but hey): The end but its, the Aether, a tamer experince, with bird and cloud themed enemies and cloudy, grassy islands with angelic/celestial villagers and Valkyrian or maybe just straight up sky viking pillagers, instead of the creatures all having teleporation so it makes sense why things dont constantly fall of and die, most everything can fly for a while. Winds can pick up and push you arround on the islands and if you fall, you fall into the overworld, but the distance traveled is much farther then in the Neather, and so if you die your stuff is just out there somewhere, waiting for you to come find it, encouraging a proper adventure to go try and find your loot (I forgored if you can look at cordinates if you die and im not boutta boot up vanilla to see so if that isnt how it is then maybe scratch that very last bit)
Finally: Cursed Earth, inspired by Dwarf fortess, anything that is killed, save for the undead, has a chance to come back as an undead. Kill a livestock animal? it comes back as a Skeleton (the meat still drops) or a Fresh Zombie version (meat doesn't drop) and unless you take care of that zombie it will eventually rot and if you kill it while its rotten, instead of getting your rightful meat, you get rotten flesh. Creepers blow up, come back and become a lightly threatening mob, doing a weak attack and mostly being an issue by blocking damage meant for other mobs; However there is a small chance that it can blow up again, and of course, you need to kill it for the gunpowder (maybe if it gets charged as a zombie it can blowup?). Villagers will always return as zombie or skeleton villagers and some villages are entirely made up of their undead counterparts. If the player dies there is a zombie or skeleton in their armor and with a name that will drop the players entire inventory (including the armor) when killed, rather then the inventory being dropped. Its not all doom and gloom too, if your dog, cat or parrot dies and it was tamed, it will come back as a friendly zombie (unless you directly killed it, cause it would be cool to see the contraptions made to kill their pets to make them zombies). Some more out there ideas, raw fish will sometimes spawn a mob called "Zombie fish" that will leave the chest or inventory to hop arround. Trees will sometimes become rotten and will break easy, but only give one plank per log. Pillagers will be much stronger and may even control zombies and have a necormancer mob and a skeletal labourer mob
I'm making alternate timeline with even a story in my modpack so :DDD It's basically a world filled with abandoned cities for 50 years and with various monsters which have entered the world thanks to Herobrine who came there through experimental portal made by scientists. At least, that's what I plan to implement 😅
My idea is simple for an alternative timeline:
What if the End was more like Aether.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING LEAKING THE 2025 APRIL FOOLS SNAPSHOT!?
Nuclear nether. Green and toxic stuff
Lifely end. Much more plant life. Shulkers out of their shells, half-built end cities, chorus flowers are significantly rarer and never have plant life around them
Dragon age end: the ender dragons are not endangered, the entire final boss is replaced with something different.
Piglin golden age nether. Bastions in their prime, piglin villages, and piglin hierarchies.
Industrial overworld. Villagers and Illagers both have much more prominent use of redstone.
After everything (all dimensions): villagers, illagers, piglins, sculk, endermen will never spawn anywhere. The end portal is already open, the dragon and shulkers are gone too. You’ve missed everything.
Noted
definitely would be a great idea for a mod. i could see an entire mod based around this but it probably would need a team to create it in of itself since it would take a crapton of planning, design etc.
The end becomes the aether
turn this into a mod please
Add-ons and datapacks are perfect for this. The community could band together to make projects like these.
Alternately, this could be a feature like Terraria's "Crimson vs Corruption"
I gotta admit, the "alternate timeline" world generation option is actually a really cool idea.
End before humans becomed endermans

I got an idea for the end
Lets say The dragons did not go extinct and there were many more soaring through the air
Like before the ancient builders came and Made them extinct
like terraria crimson and corruption and secret seeds
So its kind of like Minecraft's version of Terraria's Corruption and Crimson
So basically the binding of issac tainted floors
Purple and Magenta Fungal wart forests for the end that grow to extreme heights, and near the caps of these mushrooms there are floating islands, maybe even some small end themed villages for enderlings.
Nah dawg, we got Alternate History in Minecraft before GTA 6
Alternate Timeline idea:
The Overworld is green
The Nether is super hot
The End is empty
Game theory actually made a video on how the nether was originally frozen
Imagine if we got an infected Mushroom biome with Mobs being controlled by the more parasitic mushrooms that are given a look similar to cordyceps.
I think a world where pillagers rule world be cool
The nether used to be an icy wasteland. It’s a victim of climate change and global warming. The basalt columns confirm this.
I have two ideas for the zombie acopalipse:
A good idea would be to have an obelisk that for a certain area would spawn normal creatures and not zombies, or maybe cure them in certain level.
an improved version of the original mobs, as an example if you heal a villager he will give you trades that will not only facilitate the construction of the aforementioned obelisk but also a potion that will remove any effects caused by zombies.
one thing i have a problem with here is that i feel like it would make creating new worlds for seeds even worse. Not only you would have to re-make the world every single time you suddenly spawn on a tiny island, ugly biome, etc, but also players would now start resetting to get the alternate timeline they desire
I like the idea of timeless working like in terraria where you can choose which evil biome your world has, If corruption or crimson
imagine combining the ice nether and the burned overworld, that would be so cool

Awesome video!!! Also I subbed 🙂
Mojang hire this guy.
a sort of "prehistoric" nether could be really cool!! the "unwarped" version of the nether trees and nylium would be amazing. hoglins with giant tusks, a sort of "redone" version of the old zombie pigmen to satisfy the regular piglin req, etc. giant lakes of saltwater that could decrease hunger the longer you're in it or something
Nether froze over? I mean, Prelude Encore?
First one is if the nameless one had gotten the orb of dominance, second one is if the sculk didn't need darkness to propperly thrive, third one is real life in 50 years, fourth one is also real life in 50 years, fifth one is if the aether and the overworld were one, and the last one is potentially the nether before the piglins hit their industrial revolution.
ALT Timeline:
Zombie Apocalypse – RLCRAFT with Parasite mods
Moldy – Fungus Parasite mods
MOB Singularity – GregTech NH+
if mojang made this an update it would save the game. most interesting update by far
ngl This "Alternate Timelines" concept reminds me of Minecraft Indev's World Generation Options where you can set a theme for your worlds like the Normal theme, Hell theme, Paradise theme, and Woods theme. It also reminded me of the 20w14infinite snapshot with the Infinite Dimensions but instead of adding a billion randomized dimensions it randomizes the world and is more grounded.
Alt idea for The End:
The Aether.
You can eat rotten flesh to survive but okay
If this were to happen I would love to see where you already have a world and decide to copy it you can make an alternative timeline
Reminds me a lot of the secret seeds from Terraria, which is huge with maintaining that game's interest/variety on Youtube (for a while lol). Would definitely expand the variety of challenge runs people could do. There're endless possibilities with this
What about an alternate timeline where the progression is swapped? You start in the end needing to get to the center, where you then go to the nether and then the overworld where you need to locate a structure holding a new boss.
I also feel like it would be either in it's own tab or with the other world generation options.
Also here are some extra ideas:
1. Instead of the end being floating islands in the void, it is just the void with only man made structures: Man made island, sky ships or space stations
2. The design of the dimentions being swapped. The overworld would be cave-y or in the void, the nether being open or in the void and the end being open or cave-y
3. A random option for a random selection of options
4. One where in stead of zombies it was a vampire or parasite invasion.
5. Carcinisation.
new dimension idea. ancient city portal. takes to the Overdark.
a gigantic dimension of grey rock littered with sculk, and strange labs to ancients people who studied sculk and souls. bells are also common as ways to ward off wardens by overwhelming their sense of sound.
THATS MOJANG NOT MOYYYYYANG
Imagine an abandoned overworld, like there's literally nothing, villages are abandoned, woodland mansion are abandoned, the only thing that's left is fish and animals. Even in the nether there's no piglin and wither skeleton, only enderman and blazes. Even in the end theres no shulker
A Windstorm Overworld, because I like thinking about exoplanets with heavy winds and never-ending storms
,,You wanna go kill a cow so you can eat? "
Too bad they're already!
I have 2 ideas
Illager occupation: pretty much the entire world was been taken over by the illagers, there are new illagers bases/structures like castles & prisons and a lot more illagers outposts and almost all villages are abandoned or destroyed, leaving the villagers living in caves or renovated abandoned structures like mines. There would probably new illagers types or at the very least the illagers from dungeons are added like the royal guard and enchanter, oh and the iceologer would probably be added too
Nether invasion: pretty much widespread corruption like with the ruined nether portals. Various nether structures and biomes pop up in the overworld and various nether mobs roam the world including piglins and hoglins who longer turned zombiefeid when in the overworld
Okay, time to spitball some stuff:
-Moldy End: Mushrooms are spreading across the End with their mycelium bridges connecting clusters of islands and their spores having warped the Endermen. Either the dragon is switched to a mushroom boss or gets new moves at the cost of being distracted by the infected occasionally.
-WastelEnd: The End is more of a singular thin landmass with desert and badland vibes (with the occasional oasis and the weird flora that's needed). Fever endermen over all but you can encounter non-boss Enderdragons of various ages (eg. Hatchlings that divebomb to break the ground under you) and even their obsidian nests occasionally. Main dragon has very few crystals but will have support from the other dragons.
-Withering Away: Nether has way more Soulsand Valleys, the wastes are more brownish with the occasional gravity-effected soulsand or lake of soullava, the Crimson Forest of old replaced by a decayed greyish variant. Zombie Piglins are hostile and can infect you with withering, Zoglins and Wither Skeletons spawn all over the place now (the former now wont attack the latter). Piglins (now neutral by default) are only found in small hunting parties, with the bastion being taken over by Wither Skeleton (Withered Brute anyone?). Most mobs avoid the Warped forests, letting it act as a safehaven.
-Watery Grave: Flooded Nether. The ghasts have more squid-like motion and their charges work similarly to the Enderdragon's. Blaze spawners are swapped with the Magma cube spawners in the Bastion, the pocket of air being the only thing sparing them. There's patches of magma and soulsand creating bubbles and the old forests more greatly resemble giant coral
I always wondered if the nether is really, really hot and the overworld is cold (for this scenario), then wouldn't opening a nether portal basically combine those two worlds, causing hot air to gush out of the nether side and cold air to rush in from the overworld side until both worlds are at an equal temperature?
