Yep, this is real.

  1. I like the more circular design because then I HOPE the glass panes don't blend in so much with the inventory tiles. I don't like how thick the new hotbar looks, nor how bright it is. But I like the color coding – still think they need to add a way to rename chests/shulkers/etc, like Terraria did.

  2. Theres one mod that adds different gui styles for different stuff.
LIke a furance gui style, ender chests etc.
Would be a reall nice addition to the game imo

  3. Whose Idea was this???
Who actively chose to lower their own intelligence and accept this as good.
Not great, not amazing, not bad… Who decided to suddenly have a positive opinion of such a change?
Who decided this was a good Idea?

If you like it, please don't force your opinion onto others.
Just download or make such a resource pack/mod that aligns with your ideals and use that.
Not everyone enjoys such a sight, most prefer the ability to see.
Please don't force me back into using bright mode.

  4. Nobody I know plays Bedrock or vanilla anyway, everyone is on modded java. They're slowly making it look like more and more of a mobile game. These "minecoins", and the "add-on" shop I've heard about really crack us up. Just wild what Microsoft is doing, slowly destroying it.

  5. i realy dont get the hate this is getting in the comments i love the change however if it comes to java modders are gona be upset especially owners of large tech mods because they would need to remake every single ui but thats the only real downside i see

  6. I personally think that making the ui more like he menus is much better for consistency although the menu is normaly very sharp instead of rounded so i would like if they kept that sharp feel for the in-game ui

  7. Bedrock is always the source of so many update secrets and previews, it's so easy to just go in the files and live your heart out, this is probably why it's much easier to create addons for it.

  8. I have some mixed feelings about this
One the one hand, it follows the re-texturing of all the other blocks and items making it fit more
But on the other hand, the roundness doesn't seem really necessary…it think

But hey, they're still working on it, so we will see what happens :]

  9. I don't have an issue with the container being horizontal as most monitors have more width than height. Edit: I do see how it ruins the muscle memory we developed however.
I don't like the hotbar tho. It's too opaque, the borders are too thick and the numbers are too small.

  10. Not opposed to the inventory rework and color coding but if this goes to java edition I WILL be using a resource pack to make it look less like a terrible mobile game (hotbar especially)

  11. If it will be ONLY in the bedrock version, then why not, since it will be much more convenient on a wide but small phone screen, which will allow you to move things faster

  12. I dont like the idea of a UI update but I dont think this is it. The coloured UI is actually cool! I'm not a fan of the strangely shaped item slots nor the font/style for the number of items.

I hate the side-by-side orientation however. I see no reason for it, and its inconvenient because of how the UI is already wider than tall

  13. I like the unique colours for different containers and stuff though if this does end up in Java mostly as is, I think the colourful containers resource pack is better. Some comments have said that there should be a toggle for a dark mode and I agree. That white gui is really bright and in your face. I just hope that they finally give us more inventory space if they’re going through the trouble of updating the gui.

  14. I don't like the look of the new UI, but it also seems like a very frivolous change to me. The UI we already have is fine, I've never heard anyone complain about it. The inventories appearing side-by-side instead of stacked also feels very much like a thing they're just doing for mobile players, which is like fine, we just don't need (or want) it on other platforms.

  15. I have a feeling that if this is implemented in bedrock, it won't come to Java right away. But I'm almost certain that given a few years, they'll switch java to the same design for "parity reasons."
