Notch promiised a LOT in the earlier days. Tons of game modes, tons of items. A lot of things, most of those promises were unmet and never addfessed by him. Breaking promises with him isnt anything new

@wattlesplaysI think maybe Notch is trying to make both Levers and Chests and the Minecraft inspired game but because he’s not sure what news he can give on each project he’s spilling information as he develops the titles more and more resulting in his majorly important posts being all over the place and really confusing. Also people often forget to mention the fact that 4j studios and other companies that previously were associated with Mojang directly are also developing Minecraft inspired games…. Maybe Notch doesn’t care about modern Minecraft updates because he had his own vision for the game and Microsoft are just sort of doing their own thing with the game.

I play on ps5 Minecraft and a mojang posted a realistic picture of a rock with a caption that says “tomorrow 🍃” WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
after only watching this video I had a concept in the back of my mind for a while, a starfox like game where you land on various planets. the starfox sections can be roguelight, but the planets are where the idea comes together, they need to be suitably planet-sized, so why not have them be minecraft worlds. you go through a starfox gummy-ship like rogue light dungeon to get to the new planet, each planet has unique resources.
so I had this idea, you crash land in an escape pod, scour a zombie infested city-world (like corusant from star wars, a city planet with nothing but buildings), and find a ship that can survive the next rogue-light dungeon crawl, each time you fail you go back to the city-world and locate another ship. eventually you'll be building ships that are better than the civilian ships you can just find, and make military grade upgrades to your custom ship, but you can still lose the ship in the next dungeon run, but the further out away you go, if you lose your ship and you aren't close to the city-world, you have to go through various types of primative world, perhaps with wooden structures, and look for specific areas, like a landing facility, to locate a ship, but this is harder the further away you get from city-world. this way you can have worlds covered in lava where lots of good minerals can be found but also things like cargo ships, but those are near mining facilities.
if you set the player goal to be to find a planet that is relatively tame and untouched, then the player will find it very difficult just to survive, as the further away you get from populated space, the harder ships and modules are to come by.
the starfox sections I mentioned, would have various different impediments to progress, such as requiring a submersible ship for flying through water sections, or a land tank for blasting holes through heavy armor doors. a walking ship for navigating platforms and tight turns. y'know. make it a game. but the world sections are all just minecraft with a mod pack, survive until you can leave on another ship.
Imagine Minecraft 2 succed and year later notch sold it to sony/playstation now both platforms are in blocky war

Notch is not really some great game developer. He stumbled upon something with his sloppy code to start Minecraft which has since been polished and improved upon by better game devs. I have very little faith that he will stumble upon something that good again. His name would probably be the only thing that would stand out against any other of the Minecraft clones.
Dont know why people getting so much excited to thing that probably wont exist😂. Of course Notch will simply not to jot down 'Minecraft 2 if he develop new game to avoid copyright or lawsuit. He maybe put different name with similar gameplay like Minecraft, who knew🤷♂️
