  1. im getting so tiered of the semantic difference between "Update" and "Drop". Runescape has updated every wednesday for 20+ years. Some are huge bosses and some are tiny adjustments. ITS STILL AN UPDATE!

  2. I can see them adding variants for cow and chicken, but for sheep all I see s making the wool they have that doesnt get dyed on java to match with bedrock and also change color. Maybe sheep also get certian colors that spawn more in certian biomes.

  3. it makes sense for strafing to not be the fastest movement. I'm guessing that arises from a mathematical error when combining the two movement directions

  4. i think they should make changes in the game to make it run better, allow for longer draw distance and focus on bugs that makes the game worse, and not trying to change the movement mechanic that is good for more than a decade, they added many things that are great over the years and now they just add a block and make some old and good mechanich worse

  5. Y'know I already barely cared about updates because nothing of substance has actually been added to this game for years. I'd just update for the sake of modding. But seems like that time has finally come to an end with these horrendous movement changes. I've put up with plenty of BS changes over the years but I genuinely don't see myself playing any future version of the game no matter what they add, because, let's be honest, even if its something actually decent, which it probably won't be, and even if it is, it'll be half baked at best, it's probably already been done better 10 years ago by a modder. This is just blatantly showing once again that they literally do not care. They will literally do anything except what people actually want. All the cool actually fun stuff? Stick it in the april fools update as a cruel sick joke. What do we get in the main game? Two biomes o plenty features from 13 years ago and the game feeling worse to move in for literally no reason. Real smooth. Folks, just mod.

  6. With the live plants it makes sense that they need something to live in, but the leaves are dead, it's like if you needed to place carpet on wool or something, crazy.

  7. The worst movement changes are unintentional — they're a bug, MC-279208, that will be fixed in the next snapshot. When it's fixed, note that it's not "community outrage" that fixed it but that it's just… a bug. lol

  8. The extra textures thing was always possible with custom model data, but that system is really unintuitive and poorly documented. This naming for textures thing could be really helpful depending on how it's implemented. Almost all of the other changes in this are pretty aggravating though. It's like they're just changing stuff just to change it without stopping to think if it should be changed in the first place.

  9. i kinda just stopped caring about Minecraft updates since the 1.19 update (The Wild Update) I think it was in large part due to a lack or direction or intent in these updates that to me do not feel like they're trying to improve the game but rather stretch out its longevity, all the while remaining complacent on making big changes that would fix or improve fundamental parts of the game. I don't mean to put down Mojang and the multi billion dollar company aside it, but i wish they could just do better

  10. I think I hear the screams of professional parkour players everywhere, learning that all the tech they've spent years practicing thinking 'they'll never change this' is now obsolete…

  11. Dear Mojang Team, just because you can normalize a vector, doesn't mean you should. You aren't making a precision robot arm. You're making a game. It just needs to be fun. Quirks are fun. Faster movement is fun. I understand there is pressure coming from above about parity, so when you're deciding which implementation of a feature to use just ask yourselves, "Which implementation makes the game more fun?"

  12. I am going to assume that, since the movement changes were unannounced, it is almost certainly unintended. Either they're working on something that will require updates to the movement code, or someone noticed that Java applied delta time weirdly and thought it was a bug.

  13. So many people think Mojang was intentional with not announcing the movement change but, as a software dev, I'm sure it was completely accidental. I can imagine someone scrolling through the code, seeing the vector not normalized, fixing it in one word, and continuing. It probably was even bundled into a single commit with other changes.

  14. dude minecraft is a great game but one of mojangs biggest flaws is it feels like they almost never listen to what we want they just add stuff for no reason at this point like the movement nerf no one asked for it all it does is make the game more tedious and slow if it isnt broken dont fix it.

  15. I am very sorry but changing the movement system like this and making it worse after 15 years of it being perfectly fine is just absolutely ridiculous and stupid. This has to be the most idiotic idea every pushed for.
