  1. Uh, yeah, at 6:00, the whole "Companies must adhere solely to the shareholder's whims and maximize profit," is NOT TRUE. That is widespread misinformation! They are not legally obligated to maximize profits. From the article, "Corporations Don’t Have to Maximize Profits," Lynn Stout writes," To quote the U.S. Supreme Court opinion in the recent Hobby Lobby case: “Modern corporate law does not require for-profit corporations to pursue profit at the expense of everything else, and many do not.”" So yeah, that's misinformation! Please stop spreading it because it legitimizes the scummy practices corporations do.

There's many more articles also debunking this if you don't like the specific article I chose.

  2. Fascinating take on this issue. I have a different approach, I think Mojang should just shut down the marketplace altogether and improve the Realms Subscription to actually be worth paying for.

  3. I really appreciated you breaking down why companies are incentivized to purely be about "profit-maxxing". Too often in these kinds of videos it's always about how the corporation is shit, everyone who works for a corporation is a greedy evil bastard, when people forget that corporations are made up of…. people. And people can be convinced, and systems can be reformed for the betterment of both customer and company.
    Wonderful video as usual!

  4. Nice vid so i personally think the best would be just allowing mods to be payed and maybe an editional official marked place website or somting where minecraft gets a cut and handels everything but also allow external sails because the argument "someone can just copy it" doesn't make that much sense because if you make an opensource free mod you can set a license that doesn't allow for Comercial forks etc but overall nice vid

  5. Well I am always one for 100% free mods but the thing you suggested at the end there if everyone is able to access and be able to pay no matter what country they are in then I support it. Though I would probably still send people a mod for free if they requested it.

  6. 8:16 – What if Java is that? Like from the point of view of a shareholder Minecraft Java and Bedrock aren’t different, it’s just Minecraft. So Bedrock is the solution to keeping the two visions of the game in tact and allowing creators to “flourish”. Bedrock gets crossplay, incentives for creators, and the bad marketing practises. Then Java keeps it’s community, it’s free modding space and essentially eyes off it to allow this smaller and more tightly- knit community. In an ideal world mod and map creators would have more ways to profit from there creation, but would could also get a much worse alternative.

  7. I feel like the only way Mojang could ever do a Java marketplace is if wasn't an in-game marketplace at all and was it's own website or something. Then again people might still riot about. Cool video btw, it's nice to see different perspectives on the Marketplace issue and not the same "Marketplace bad because microtransactions"

  8. "Microsoft’s Disgusting Plan to Monetize Minecraft"
Proceeds to shove sponsor down our throats

Look, I appreciate what you have to say, but it's a little hard to take you seriously if you are also trying to monetize your video…

  9. This contains some misinformation about Bedrock:
2:57: Addon files open directly in Minecraft, no need to manually put it in the folder
3:03: This modding was the reverse-engineering type, non-marketplace addons work fine
4:04: Sites like MCPEDL and Modbay offer free, high-quality addons, so NOT a monopoly
4:50: Map creators have stated that Java is "too limiting" for map-making

  10. Seriosuly man i will ban you for being so underrated????!???
Literally Everything is so perfect.. thumbnail, content , editing and explainayion is 100 level awesome
