Balloons stack with the slime mounts lol, I always use them combined no matter what (bundle of balloons and a slime mounts)

Summoner mainly use accessories so yeah nah
I'm genuinely begging you try out all of those balloons and frog leg accessories with the pogo stick. Toggle it on and off whenever you need to fall really quickly or ascend really quickly. Only minor problem is horizontal movement but that's why you only use it in bursts. That has taken me to Moon Lord multiple times and I'm pretty sure it only takes four jumps to reach space

Yessss, more people converted into the Balloon Cult. I honestly don't even bother with wings from early and mid HM at this point, because the instant momentum flip from the balloons is so good.
Hate frog legs and it's fusions though, auto-jump is awful. Just the bundle is good for me.
As someone who uses the amphibian boots and the bundle of ballons until I get the eol infinite fly, I am grateful of this video
Also dome of the jumps behave strangely with the panic necklaces buff. I know this because I was using a green balloon and panic necklace and it gave even more insane horizontal movement

One awesome thing balloons have over wings, especially the starter wings is a burst of upward movement, meaning instead of waiting a second for start going up due your wings fighting gravity… You just go up and up fast. Honestly in my own playthroughs I usually dont get wings until one of thr mech bosses dies and I can get the jetpack. Early wings suck and the mobility provided by the bundle of balloons is crazy and honestly better.

I ain't gonna lie, every time I do a calamity playthrough, I'm sticking with the bundle of balloons for as long as is possible. Don't end up swapping off them until after the first mech lmao

ive been using the bundle of horseshoe balloons as a substitute for wings in my current playthrough
7:50 no it doesn't. You have no defense with this build. Defense is the most important stat if you're doing harder difficulties, because you will get hit, and it's best to die in 5 hits than in 2 hits, or to die in 500 hits than in 20 hits.

I played 600 hours of terraria without wings. I tried the angel wings, didn’t like them, and never used wings again. I did so much without wings like getfixedboi legendary and challenge runs. The first thing that made me use wings was when I got a pc and played calamity. I killed every boss until calamitas clone in infernum without wings and the final phase was the thing that finally made me try wings
(I did use the boots upgrade that gives you wings in previous attempts tho but it can still be said that it was only boots

Actually you forgot about Lilith's necklace, it's a mount that has insane mobility both vertically and horizontally and it stacks with other jump bonuses, it creates an insane mobility build and you have the same size as a player unlike other mounts
Why are you using so many frog legs? Do you really need that much vertical movement? I like using the bundle of balloons to supplement early wings' terrible horizontal mobility but what's the point of using so many accessories on vertical movement? Ive found wings have more than enough of that and that if you put too much into vertical movement bosses will just camp below you and won't let you down.
Maybe im biased though since the only recent playthrough ive done is on a small getfixedboi world where too much vertical movement will get you killed by the sky barrier but I cant see much use for frog legs besides maybe the very first few bosses
The best part for me personally is that the yellow horseshoe balloon can beat Duke Fishron pre-mechs without wings, I see most people use wings when trying to beat the Duke pre-mechs in their YT videos

I'm 44 seconds in and considering my time playing the game, I'm already pretty opinionated about the subject, though I think I have a decent view of it.
The reason why most people prefer wings is because most of Terraria's history, the bundle of horseshoe balloons didn't exist. Even if you had to take up two spots for the BoHB, it is still better than fledgling wings, no doubt. What makes wings more desirable is that you are able to use accessory slots for other things. There is reasonable debate about what has greater utility, but that is the primary reason, in my eyes, why wings are usually much more preferred.
