Try getting your bottles and standing in water
Craft the water bottles and give them to the guide

Try to make the NPC-s happy and something will happen in their shop
Fill the bottle with watter and then see the recipes
Platforms count as doors for housing requirements, so if you want to instead of having doors on each level you can have platforms in the floor. The house does require at least 1 solid block that is at least 1 block away from the edge for the npc to stand on at night, so the entire floor can’t be platforms
You should check all your accessories and see what you can mix

fun fact, u can use platforms as well to satisfy the door requirement. It can be helpful in skyscrapers
If you want to craft potions you need to fill the bottle with water, if you show the bottle of water to the guide he'll give you the recipes.
you can combine shoe spikes and the other one idk what its called

If you're interested, theres a bunch of accessories sold from the travelling merchant which combine with some extra ones to create a strong building accessory. it pretty much enhances all aspects of building stats (speed, range, tile breaking speed etc). its worth the effort if you wanna take on a lot of construction projects, and the travelling merchant accessories are pretty cheap at only 10 gold apiece

You need WATER bottles to make potions btw
I'm not one to tell people how to play the game but you should probably sort your chests, it'll make the game a lot less painful in the long run
The houses in the hell have some furnaces, take them with a pickaxe
You can craft your walls back into blocks

Fun fact. NPCs dont like living close to each other and will charge you higher prices because of it

Most potions require water bottles and not empty bottles to be crafted, the crafting menu will let you make them if you’re near a water block.

Fun fact : mechanic ( 8:01 the npc That you gave smooch) is tinkerer's gf
Now that you have everything u can get u should definitely make the best sword in pre hardmode its called the nights edge and its made of four swords
To craft the nights edge make the blood butcherer crafted with crimtane ores
Secondly go to the skeletron dungeon farm for keys and open chests until u get the muramasa
Thirdly get 12 jungle spores found in the underground jungle it emits a green light and is very common 15 stingers from hornets and spiky slimes and lastly 3 vines from man eaters u can look at it's face in the bestiary
And last but not least get 20 hellstone bars and craft the volcano the second best sword
Now with all those swords in ur inventory go to a demon altar and craft the nights edge

Be careful with hellstone it drops lava when you mine it, i recommend breaking a ton of underworld pots as they can drop obsidian skin potions so you can basically go swimming safely in lava and mine so much hellstone
