Beating Terraria Expert Mode using only Coin Gun | Terraria 1.4.4.9

In the recently concluded Invasion weapons only melee run, we started hardmode by getting our Goblin and Pirate weapons. But what if instead of the Cutlass or the Pirate Staff, we got a Coin Gun drop? Coin Gun is a very rare 1 in a 50 chance from a flying Dutchman, so it would take a very long time. However, even if we were to get it, how good would it be with regards to bosses? Can we take down Moon Lord using a handful of coins, or would we need to farm our lives out for this?
