I Forced Minecraft Duos to do a Valentines Escape Room

So today I decided to build another Escape Room In Minecraft and force some Youtubers to do it and see who could get out the quickest!

  1. Lizzie and Joel have now won both Valentines escape rooms (if I remember correctly) and I love that for them. Also, I nearly SCREAMED when I saw Aimsey and Guqqie in this. I know Aimsey was in the last one, but it still caught me so off guard but it made me so happy!

  2. the fact that joel and lizzie didn't even communicate that much just brute force it and doing it not the way it was intended(most of them doesn't either) but still got 1st place is funny (also i think using redstone torch is fair since scott didn't clarify HOW you suppose to light the lamp).

  3. I'm betting that Scott did not expect the amount of ways these pairs found ways to break this escape room, especially at the last room. I think next time there should be some kind of barrier preventing players from accessing their lamp, or giving them repeaters from the start.
Though maybe they could work together to light up their half of a heart made of lamps.
Some ideas for next year (or other escape room projects)

  4. Isn't Lizzie bi? Just cuz she is married to a guy doesn't exactly make them a straight couple. Just saying that it felt a lil like a bi erasure moment so I had to call it out.

  5. I love how Lizzie and Joel’s method of co op puzzles are, yes to communicate (kinda), but mainly by being very competitive with each other they improve one another and end up getting to the end faster just cause they want to beat each other. It kinda seems like they forget they’re competing against other peoples times, and it’s just based on who can figure out their thing the fastest. It brings an interesting factor to the table of the only person allowed to stab you in the back is me!

I love that Imp and Skizz hardly need to communicate in a sensible way, ie. Impulse knowing a lot more about Minecraft and with the ways in which the other duos get info to each other, you’d expect him to work best with his other being very accurate in wordage, but he and Skizz just get each other so well, that it doesn’t matter if they don’t make sense to anyone else. Very much giving “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” but with communication methods lol

Love that Oli and El have similar thought processes when heading into a challenge, and the way they communicate is very much a call and response type of song (maybe I’m just looking too deep into it just cause Oli does music lol), but it just kinda feels like they know where the other is headed when solving puzzles in a practiced and choreographed thinking pattern way. I guess I’m saying their communication feels like a dance.

Love how Aimee and Guqqie are just two dudes on opposite sides of a wall yelling at each other to get a point across. Their communication feels very much like “I’m gonna info dump at the same time you do and whatever information gets across hopefully benefits us” and somehow that works for them? Amazing.

And I love how Shelby and Katherine heard that this was a communication based escape room and promptly forgot after walking through the first door. Jk their communication style feels very much like putting a bunch of sticky notes everywhere to remind you and your roommate of all the different things to focus on in your shared living space, but a lot of them go unfinished when being written down so when the other person comes over to read it, they interpret it however they might based on their own differing perspective, potentially adding the solution needed to the mix, but the problem is that nothing is ever spoken outloud and it’s ALL written down on the sticky notes. So any solution discovered is like having written down a really important password to a computer or safe or smth on one of those sticky notes and it just being left along with the others to maybe get picked back up again.

Ok sorry for the rant and over analysis I just really enjoy looking WAY too into dynamics lmao
