  1. I play with rethinking voxels as my default shader (but tweaked to my necessities, had to skimp on a few settings for fps but made it beautiful with full path tracing) + distant horizons, a bunch of resource packs with the basis of Alacrity, making stuff more 3d and I got several mods that add new particle effects. All this running on a 4070, a i5 11400F and 32GB 3600MHz of RAM. Every now and then I lose some frames, especially with create mod stuff or when loading a lot of new chunks but otherwise it runs pretty well.

  2. Rethinking voxel shader is my favorite, it looks also very similar to minecraft trailer, and has dynamic shadows from any light source, including light you hold in your hand. It's crazy.
    Basically, ray tracing shaders.

  3. I would like it if somebody showed off a heavily modified world from a large mod pack to see what new cards can do instead of showing shaders (which are for the tasteless and garish by the way).

  4. The fact that you can push 20 chunk render distance in 16k and STILL be able to hold a steady 240fps is so unbelievable.

My 5090 was supposed to arrive almost 24 hours ago. Really should've chosen Fedex instead of USPS…

    Edit: BELOW 1MS FRAMETIMES??????
Edit 2: SIX TIMES MY FRAMES??? IN 4K?????

  5. Some fun facts about all these shaders (and a couple shader recommendations to maybe try out in other videos)

So everyone prolly knows that but Astralex is a modified ver of BSL and Voxels is modified Complementary.
Complementary, Voxels and Solas have all built in pbr material and depth maps for the vanilla textures of the game and in the settings you can toy with it and it has a couple different options and modes.
Rethinking voxels is a voxel based shader which has a similar effect with rtx and also has ray traced shadows. Newer technology so not optimised enough yet and obviously super demanding
And there are a few other quite popular shaders that have rtx gi in some/full capacity. Kappa PT and Molly vx. These appear paid but you can find them on minecraft planet for free (since paid mods are against tos) but they have a patreon if you want to donate to the creators.
ALSO!!! Seus e12 are outdated. Seus ptgi Hrr 3 exist and are way more up to date with light sources and have way better performance you should check them out

  6. Well, I think some textures that are made with RT in mind will tank performance, but they'll completely change the look of a game. Would be interesting to see, though. 🤪

  7. Have you heard of a game called Vintage Story? It's like Minecraft on steroids in every way (except the modding scene is smaller of course). One of those ways is optimization

I'd like to see how some of the most powerful cards you got will handle the game along with the rest of your PC and how far you can push the game
