Tier List of every Redstone Component in Minecraft

In this Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft redstone video, Mumbo ranks all of the Minecraft redstone components in the game. Ranging from redstone dust, through to pistons, observers and finally some oddity’s such as chickens and wall blocks.

  1. I feel like netherite block should be z tier. In creative mode contraptions, yes I agree with e tier, but applying this to survival builds, getting a netherite block, heck, multiple of them, it just makes it so expensive to use

  2. So much I disagree with here. Crafter and target block: S-Tier (target block doubly so on bedrock since stick pistons can't spit out blocks). Activator rail? C-tier, less useful than the ability to redirect regular rail. Target block: B tier. Weighted pressure plates: F-Tier (seriously, I've never seen a good way to use these). Glazed teracotta: C Tier. Cauldron and Composter and Armour Stands: Each one tier lower. Furnace: C-Tier. Buttons and levers: 1 tier lower again. Shulk sensors: Definitely above weighted pressure plates: B or C tier. Redstone ore block: FF tier on bedrock since it doesn't like to turn off once activated. Pot: E tier. Cobweb: C-Tier. Netherite block but no ancient debris for the same movable blast resistance? Noteblock and jukebox? A tier. They're cool, but not really all that used. The iron door belongs above the wood door because zombies can break the wooden doors. Water and lava should be on the list.

  3. Missing components:
    Water (easy s-tier)
    Lava
    Scaffolding
    Saplings (timers)
    Allays (sorting non-stackables)
    Pufferfish (bad player sensor)
    Dolphins (storage tech)
    Frost-walker boots
    Boats
    The Wither (block breaking)
    Amethyst cluster (minecart yeeter alignment)

    (…and I'm certain a ton more)

  4. I find it interesting that viper grates are above leaves. Leaves have the exact same water logging property! Also, copper grates Can’t turn concrete powder into concrete while leaves can

  5. About the only item of significance that I would slightly disagree on would be the furnace… I've found it and the blast furnace occasionally useful as variable branch-timers, automatically adjustable in real time. (by branch timer, I mean one timer to execute successive timed functions in order (a, b, c…) on one timer, each on linear branches)

  6. Buttons, regular pistons, chests, jukeboxes, and noteblocks are all wild things to put in S tier. None of them are that important to lots of contraptions, and I don't remember the last time I ever used a regular piston. Also sticky piston should be in a glow item frame.

  7. Mangrove Roots is the only survival-obtainable, waterloggable and conductive full block.
I used it for my beginner farm, to send a signal through it to a dispenser with water in the middle of a field, to harvest stuff in one button click.
Sure i could just use water bucket as it is, but it's more interesting this way and gives me another goal to accomplish in these random 2 week phases..

  8. Honestly leaves having the same use as copper grates as well as having the niche use they have on their own should earn them at least an equal ranking to the copper grate, imo…but I am not about to go to youtube commenter war for leaf blocks.

  9. You get two hoppers facing each other. You get comparators reading said hoppers. You out literally ANYTHING in hoppers to give readings. Does that mean everything is a redstone component?

Edit: At 2:48 , he tanks the block, not what the block could contain. Nvm.

Edit 2: But would it not still be a redstone component if it’s giving a redstone signal?

  10. I had a nightmare where mumbo jumbo used E and Z tier rather than D and F tier in his tier list of every Redstone Component in Minecraft video. I hope to never see something like that ever come to fruition

  11. I love powdered snow, it allows for compact randomizers, and aligns neatly items that are sput out of droppers so they all fall straight ! At least B tier, probably even B tier for me 🙂
