The Calamity Mod is a large content mod for Terraria which adds many hours of endgame content and dozens of enemies and bosses dispersed throughout the vanilla game’s progression. The Calamity Mod also features several harder difficulty modes, such as Death mode and revengeance mode five new biomes and new structures, a new class, a new leveling mechanic, more than thirty new songs, over fifty recipes for previously uncraftable vanilla items and other assorted changes to vanilla gameplay.

The effects and battle gimmicks are very probably the BEST in the entire terraria community and workshop, it's just absolutely nonsensical how these Wrath of the Gods guys pull up these absurdly well done(and as far as I know, very well optimized for how stupidly insane they look, another miracle)…

    In my opinion the problem is, the lore is just very mediocre and is just stealing Calamity's lore for no reason. Well, I mean, not "for no reason", Calamity is a great base of content to work on outside of lore or anything, it has a huge amount of cool weapons to pair with cool bosses and insane post-vanilla-endgame content, but like, that's just the reason.

    I think these guys are trying to slowly differentiate them from Calamity itself and trying to slowly separate from the mod(or something like that?) and just make their own story, because tbh right now their lore sucks IF PAIRED WITH Calamity's lore, it doesn't make much sense, and the interactions with characters from Calamity itself feel forced, uninteresting and cliche(like, "Look, bro, Draedon just… made another robot… probably in two weeks or something… for no reason… hehehe… he…", like, there is no build-up or anything, just… "here, take the content, with a bit of improvised lore to not make it so obvious"), Solyn's lore actually sounds cool, because it's their OWN lore, instead of trying to work on other's people work and lore. Solyn's interactions feel freshed out and with their own charisma, not trying to poorly replicate Calamity's charisma who already works well on its own. And also in my opinion the whole thing just ruins Xeroc's and Noxus' lore, whereas Goozma's mod is very Calamity-accurate instead

    Don't get me wrong, Nameless Deity and Avatar of Emptiness are NUTS, they look amazing(I don't like Nameless Deity design and Avatar of Emptiness' face tho but that's subjective, it's just a "me" thing) and their fights look even better, truly a work of art, but they just don't fit Calamity, they should be a mod on their own, to make the people that enjoys them be a whole community on their own and slowly grow further and better, because right now I feel like they confuse a lot of people with the whole Xeroc and Noxus stuff when they are NOT EVEN CLOSE to being Xeroc and Noxus, I would be so dissappointed if Calamity changed their whole own style and charisma to actually make something as different as that.

    I feel good knowing they changed "Noxus" to "Avatar of Emptiness", it feels like they are taking an step in the right direction, a bit closer to making their own thing 🤙

  2. So the exo mechs get stronger when they go from greek dieties to a roman diety noted(on a serious note its amazing to see submods using ideas from calamity and putting a ton of time into their own versions of them that the regular mod can't afford to create such amazing fights)
