Hardmode is the second half of the game, initiated in a world when the Wall of Flesh is defeated for the first time. New, more powerful enemies spawn with new loot, increasing the power level of both enemies and the player dramatically, and the Corruption/Crimson begin to spread and infect nearby blocks. Once started, Hardmode cannot be turned off.

The beginning of Hardmode is very dangerous due to the new threats, and can easily catch newer players off guard. This guide focuses on helping new players recognize and deal with the threats posed in early Hardmode. Therefore, it is hoped that this video can guide you to determine the things you need to do before entering hardmode. Hopefully useful and thanks for reading this 🙂

    Here's everything I noted myself to do before going to the hardmode (I didn't watch the video yet btw);

    – Make a plant farm (if you didn't already, personally I did not at that point)
    – Jungle farm (put some mud with 2 block spaces in between so jungle grass for baits and lifefruits can grow)
    – Find every npc underground (Stylist, Goblin Thinkerer)
    – Get all pylons you can for traveling
    – Dig 3×3 holes at sides of the corruption biomes (you can also use rope afterwards to prevent vines from going to other side)
    – Fishing place for every biome (or an universal one)
    – A big arena
    – Make an surface mushroom biome for Truffle
    – Grind statue items (since hardmode enemies will have more health)
    – Mob farm (make sure it's not under where the V will shape at once you pass to the hardmode)

    Also if you are a collector, you might want to get every pre-hardmode item Traveling Merchant sells beforehand.

    I know some modes will change what's necessary for a hellbridge – higher difficulties make molten slimes drop lava on death, so it's a good idea to have drainage holes in your hellbridge for instance.

    Hello, 3k hours summoner enjoyer here.
    Here are few more things to consider:

    – Gnome farm (You can find it in one of their previous videos): If you add 1 more layer of blocks under the farm, and have a deactivated blocks connected to switch, you can farm gnomes without having to mine them one by one. You'd just need to click on the switch 2 times to make blocks deactivated > activated.

    – Your Ocean pylon should be on dungeon's side. For the jungle side ocean, you should prepare a well built arena. You can use the arena for blood moon bosses, mech bosses and duke fishron, pirates etc.

    – Consider building things like Bundle of bloons, Terraspark boots before hardmode as they give many mobilty and regular hardmode wings are heavily nerfed (bottle + frog leg is better than early hardmode wings for boss fights)

    – If you have an issue with mining hardmode ores, you can solve this problem by fishing. Make sure to prepare a fishing pool. I prefer to have one right under my mob farm, you can get bottomless lava bucket by fishing in underworld, then use it to create your own lava fishing pool, fishing in lava is the fastest way ot farm hardmode crates.

    – Think of a path before entering hardmode. For an example: I play summoner so: I'll beat wall of flesh > I'll farm the spider armor in the nest i made preperation BEFORE hardmode (so i can easily farm) > i'll prepare an underground hallow crystal shard farm for queen slime > i'll get the blade staff by defeating queen slime > i'll stack whips and kill duke fishron > i'll kill mech bosses.
    Think of hardmode as a ticking bomb, you need to think what you'll do untill you beat mech bosses, because your evil biomes are constantly growing so you need steampunker to stop the evil when you need to. Afterwards, you can chill untill you plan your next move.

    – Use teleport: Mechanic now sells teleporters before hardmode, you can have your way to your mob farm from your house thanks to teleporters, you can teleport to dungeon, you can teleport to your gnome farm etc.

    – Use shimmer wisely, i'd say everyone should check shimmer's wiki page at least once. Too many cheeses you can do.
    For an example, gold worm seems hard to get. but it's actually not! you can get all the can of worms and herb bags from your surface chests, then transform herb bags to can of worms, then throw a platinum to shimmer (you can farm platinum easily with gnome farm) as it boosts your luck like insane, and put a gnome/aether torch and have a pearl. You'll definitely get worm.

    Another tips with shimmer:

    -If you are willing to craft ankh shield, you can transform few pre-hardmode accesories to hardmode accesories (for a example, beezoar turns into a hardmode accesory when thrown in the shimmer, same with nazar)

    -Make sure you kill travelling merchant once. You can trap him in a tight box and fill the box with few water buckets. after he dies, throw his hat to shimmer for permanent buff.

    -You can transform any angler accesory to it's variation.

    Additional items you should consider getting:

    -Axe of regrowth: Allows you to easily farm wood, and have a proper place for your trees. Also allows you to farm plants when they are not fully grown, you need to place them on blocks tho.

    -Void Bag: additional piggy bank, i love using my piggy bank for potions, safe for wires and void bag for additional inventory space.

    -Make sure to have proper inventory before entering hardmode. your toolbar should always have same items (for an example, 1 for weapon1 2 for pickaxe 3 for torch 4 for platform 5 for block 6 for piggy bank 7 for weapon2 etc.
