  1. i was surprised to see that terraria only has an 80 somethintg on metacritic, even though I think it's the best indie game I've ever played. Now sure, critic opinions don't matter anyway, but there's a good reason why the reviews were valid back then. Terraria was simply worse back then.

  2. This video encapsulates why the game is so great at the same time though. I know you already said it in your video, but one thing this game does great is every update makes the game just better. Which is really nice to see when so many games have such garbage updates, but every single major update made me realize just how much better the game can and will get everytime. Either way great vid and I was happy to see someone touch up on this subject more in depthly than what I had seen others say!

  3. I know you said this but your complaining too much about not have expert mode it wasn’t a feature at the time just because you played in more modern version with expert mode classic is going to be easy even if you play classic in 1.4 it still easy so it not fair to complain about it and if you were a new player durning 1.2 the game is still hard. Also you don’t need to use drills there bad even in 1.4. Also one thing is that 1.2 added a lot and I me a lot of stuff I would argue that it’s one if not the most important updates to the game not in terms of qol but content wise.

  4. 1.2 on pc may be trash, but 1.2 on mobile/console was peak. Stunlocking the dungeon guardian with heart arrows, or getting absolutely destroyed by lepus were key moments for me.

  5. part of me feels like 1.2.4 was when terraria became actually good… and by actually good i mean best game and not something you could just call your favorite. 1.2 on other hand… yeah that one sucked

  6. I was stuck on this version for 3 years as a mobile player lol. When i finally got a PC Terraria was the first game i bought on steam.

  7. 1.2 is fine it's just bad when compareing it to the new versions. Unlike other games terraria's updates have only ever really improved the game or added stuff. I don't think they have ever even reworked anything that wasn't already disliked so going back to an older version other than going oh look old textures isn't going to be a breat experiance because we know all the things that we could be playing with. Back in the day we had no idea what was coming in 1.3. They gave way less spoilers than they do now for their updates. I remember a few things but really not much. I remember 1.2 spoilers being dyeing clothing, rope and the crimson but I don't really remember 1.3 spoilers.

  8. expert mode is easily the way to go, playing in classic mode multiplayer means bosses don’t scale and there’s no client sided loot bag so you all fight over the already minuscule loot

  9. 1.2 is still when I feel like Terraria became "good"

1.0 and 1.1 were alright, but there's just so many little missing things and unbalanced bosses there to really feel fun nowadays

1.2 isn't too bad on it's own, it just falls apart some when comparing it to newer versions

  10. I don't really get the "guys I visited olf Terrraria…and it was bad!" videos. Of course it's going to be bad, whatever bug there was, whatever complaint have been made is fixed in the newer versions because you guessed it, it was bad. I guess the "nostalgic" feel we get from old versions is just "we struggle more".
