    Here is a fun fact, you can cheese red eye twin in second fase really easily, it just circles around you a shoots non block through passing projectiles, so just build a box around yourself

    This is such an impractical bug, I love it. I honestly see no reason why Re-Logic even should patch this when there are far more important ones to busy themselves with.

    So it is technically possible, but I really wouldn't want to try that while Duke is biting my ass without godmode
    Iron pickaxe on the other hand, mmm

    I've used this to save on expensive baits, didn't think of using it on fishron
    Also I used sorting, with favorited items instead of trashing it as it's easier to reset like this

    The Iron Pickaxes probably spawn because the truffle worm has no list of items to pull from, because it should always get overwritten by Duke Fishron anyways. The Iron Pickaxe is often the default item in odd situations(eg. 1.3 dupe frames sometimes gave iron pickaxes, in modded Terraria I've seen block drop iron pickaxes after being broken in weird ways), likely due to being item id 1, as you suggest.

    I have a theory on how this works:

    Terraria has 2 checks in fishing, one when you get a bite and a second when you pull in.

    When you get a bite, it checks fishing power and the item pool, and when you pull it checks bait.

    The reason the glitch works this way is because the Truffle Worm probably has special coding to override the normal pull, but also has its own catch pool.

    When you switch to the worm, it overrides the catch like it normally does, but when you switch from it, it’s taking from a pool with nothing, so it just defaults.

    Also, would blood moon enemies also have a similar effect if there was a bait that would pulled them more often/always?

    if you are pre mech you can shimmer the pickaxe into bars for the boss summons impractical but a weird way to get a material for a boss summon
