I’d imagine it spawns in the crimson desert after use of an item that can be found right after you defeat the wall of flesh. It would spawn a bunch of worms called “nerves” which would be it’s main form of defense along with a bite attack and a breath attack, I’d also imagine that it can switch locations by going back into the ground and popping up somewhere else almost like a worm that can become stationary when an amount of it is above ground , at half health it’s eye falls off acting like a smaller the eye of cathulu and the spine part becomes more aggro with its bit attack becoming spastic and it’s breath attack doubling in length and knocking the player back a lot
The premise I’m trying to go for is a stationary boss who tries to zone the player as much as possible, no that I think of it it would probably make sense to give it a moderate resistance to projectiles (ranged weapons, magic weapons, summons, sword beams) and a huge weakness to any forms of melee but only in the first phase where the knock back and eye should cover the resistance, in a further attempt to balance this abomination in the second phase it should get a shield if the player is to far away
I have no idea how this works in practice I’m just externalizing my internal monologue to add to the modge podge of ideas but hey maybe this is actually anything that a good boss should be I wouldn’t know

I have 2 concepts: A new biome for hardmode, and a new boss (including the vertebrae) New Biome: Soul Ocean (Corruption Hell Biome) and the Blood Sea (Crimson Hell Biome). They alternate to give the player access to Corruption only after pre hardmode, so we get the Soul Ocean if we have Crimson, and Blood Sea if Corruption. Critters in the biome(s): None Enemies: Ghosts, Wraiths, and Corruption mobs/Crimson mobs Bosses: The Vertebrae and Watchman (Crimson) / Rotten Leviathan and Ferryman (Corruption)
Soul Ocean stuff: Ectowood (Can make Summoner equipment, like a new whip and Armor) The Styx, a new whip that if used summons a temporary river ghost to help you (uses 150 Ectowood) Ecto Armor, summoner armor that is the opposite of Spider Armor, rather than more summons, it's more damage for whips
Soul Ocean enemies: River Divers. A worm enemy that deals the venom debuff, drops cursed flames, usually around 5-8 Soul. A ghost enemy similar to the Flying Gross (or whatever its called again) and the Wraith, it has ranged attacks that deal a new debuff called Soul Flame. Drops a mage weapon called Soul Spark, throws 3 orbs of Soul Flame that home in after a 3 seconds of flying.
Soul Ocean Bosses: The Ferraman. Spawns with an item called Cursed Coin, craftes from 10 gold bars, 5 platinum bars, 15 souls of night, and crafted at a Bewitching Table (yes, i gave those a purpose aside from more summons). Once spawned at a new location that is found in the Soul Ocean, Sunken Ship, you will be given infinite water breathing for the entire fight. The Ferryman can inflict Soul Flame, Shadow Flame, and Cursed Flame. During it's second phase, it can deal all of those at the same time. It has 40k hp and if it dies it drops a new bar called Cursed Silver, usually drops 19-24. (Used to make mage armor)
The Rotten Leviathan. Summoned with a Cursed Amulet made from 10 Cursed Silver, 10 souls of night, 4 string. Has 100k hp and preferably fought post Plantera. It drops something for summoners, a new summon, Ecto Serpent. Acts similar to how the Stardust dragon, deals Soul Flame.
Tell how many MiniBosses in terraria. For me its slime king, all The Elder's Army bosses, frost invasion bosses, frost moon and pumpkin moon bosses, Paladin from dungeon, torch god, deerclops, and celestial pillars. THAT ALL MINIBOSSES I THINK THAT IN GAME
