we got purple crystal that does nothing and blue stone that isnt even transparent and is used in dye and somehow its what you use for imbuing your weapons with magic like setting things on fire and summon an airburst when u hit someone
Have one wand that fires Cristal darts, then maybe various other items like the snowball and fire charge, make them throwable and give them burning and freezing effects respectively.
My friends, I have the answer: Hex casting, a spellcasting mod based on programming, that is fueled by amethyst. It's a huge injection if magic for all your needs.

The creaking is kinda magical, a monster that emerges from the forest, but its more a woodlands massion magic them actual magic alike the enchanting table
Low-key, I feel like they could have used amethyst crystals for magical barriers and instant heal crystals. Something like using crystal ruin blocks to build a perimeter to erect a forcefield that disables mob spawns inside would have been nice. The healing crystals could have just been a substitute to potions, creating empty crystal vessels to fill them with potions that can be stacked.
I feel like the deep dark definitely feels magical but they didn't give us any cool magical items with it. They gave us echo shards which are a very interesting item but the just make a recovery compass. I think there's so much missed potential there

Tbh i would be fine with spellcasting but it really depends on how they do it and it has to be in such way that normal use of weapons is still viable
