It's been a pretty crazy journey, it's amazing to see how far this feature has come! It's certainly not complete and will be 100% improved over the coming months but let's enjoy it finally together!!

The lights are genuinly so beautiful. This has been the first time in a while I have smiled to vanilla minecraft
Several people said the flashing in the end is deliberate
I kinda like it but it’s should slowly fade out and (preferably be purple just to be on theme since the current skybox turns purple anyways)
ecko, my fav mc bedrock youtuber❤
Ses normal que sur PS4 il a pas je vie. De regarder
What do i do if the vibrant visuals experiment isn't there and how do you get the preview version?
It's nothing like was advertised poggys is still better
Your fov makes the game look like its om a Square screen and stretched
The thing that i hate about this is the performance. They need to fix it before the full release of it. I can run many java shaders on my LAPTOP better than i can run VV on my ps5. Not to mention that i cna run the god of war games, spiderman games, fortnite all fine but not vv.
(I posted this before watching the video, not sure if I'll post-watch tweak it. This is a 3rd repost from a Wattle video with a few tweaks. It just seemed more fitting to put this here, does this count as spam?)
I know that Mojang is still working on it and it's gonna take a while but I have some things I want to point out with vibrant visuals, not necessarily problems just things that would help it be a more realistic shader (if that's what they're going for). Btw, some of my info is from watching xisumavoid's video from 4/2/2025. And disclaimer, I haven't been able to test this out in my own gameplay because I can't at the moment. I'm just making observations and suggestions.
At least to me, night looks okay-ish, I like how it's actually dark along with some moonlight. I hope all the bloom and sliders are fixed tho. I don't like the weird light adjusting thing, but I don't know why it's there. Of course the night vision issues should be fixed so that it can be used as intended, but I'm not sure how they could execute that and how it would look.
Also, as wattles pointed out the reflective grass is off putting, and I know Mojang said that there were like extra textures affecting how object react to the light but I wonder, I guess, how well or to what degree they are doing it like do dirt, wood, grass, etcetera absorb the light in a different way from say iron and give a more i dunno matte look. I think they should take into account how reflective each object is.
Ambient occlusion should be removed because it does not happen in real life, I believe it's only in place in vanilla so you can tell where the blocks are and to add "Shadows." Also, in vanilla blocks have pre-shaded sides so no matter where the sun is even if your on the back of a an object (here it's a cliff) as seen at 2:53 you can still see the individual sides of blocks and other objects, so if you ignore the ambient occlusion here, in real life if light isn't striking the back of an object you can still differentiate the back sides from each other (think of it as the light creeping around, at least I thinks that's what happens), it could just be the light reflecting from other objects.
Speaking of light reflecting, if you put white concrete next to wood and the light is able to reflect at the right angle you should see the white glow bouncing on the the woods surface. The light should reflect onto other objects.
Maybe this could be a setting so that it wouldn't ruin mob farms etcetera, but I think that where the actual shadows are is where mobs should spawn and the weird diagonal lighting (as seen in xisumavoid's video when he's in the end, around the end portal) should be removed and allows light to spread farther, so you can choose between the old lighting tech or the new one while still having the looks of vibrant visuals active. Although, I do think they said that vibrant visuals doesn't affect gameplay, but I do hope they do give us an option.
And yes, please Mojang add colored lighting like soul torches and lamps being blue and have the different colored lights (regular torches, soul torches, sea lanterns, redstone) react to the different colors of stained glass, like the colors mix.
This is just a personal wish, I hope we can see the third person model in first person as a toggle because we can see the third person shadow in first person.
Also, another thing with light reflections is that if say the light is hitting at a 45 degree angle on glass the reflection won't look as strong to you if you're looking at it at a 25 degree angle compared to a perfect 45, but this could be a toggle so you aren't always getting a glare in your face to the point where you see. so, if you look at the sun directly it will be pretty bright.
Another, cool thing is that shadows stack and dim, for example when two lights are casting shadows the overlapping area will be darker and the other areas will look normal, and if light hits part of the shadow the shadow doesn't disappear but it becomes less prominent the more light that's shining on it (obviously). And shadows should expand and enlarge based on how close you or and object is to a light source so you can make big or small shadows. This would also cause our shadows to stretch over large portions of land when the sun is at a shollower angle.
Also, I hope light comes from the actual light source like the flame at the top of a torch instead of it being a block of light.
Light can sort of stack too in real life. If you have one sea lantern it won't appear as bright as a wall of see lanterns would. Also, back to the light shining through cracks the more light you have in one room will make the light shining through the crack more intense and I think it would shine "farther" (like reach walls farther back). This one of my own observations from real life— once I was in a room and there were two different light bulbs and the shadows cast by them sort had a different color to them.
For anything that does reflect light great enough I hope they reflect as cubes (and other objects) would reflect light in real life, in their harsh, flat angles (so we can make stuff like mirror light reflection trails). (If you can even understand at what I'm trying to say here)
Oh, and the pixelated shadows are absolute perfection — chef's kiss! I do hope entities can can cast shadows onto themselves and other entities and other objects can cast shadows on to entities, some examples of this would be: the third person hand casting a shadow to your own leg, or you cast a shadow onto another entity like your shadows hits a mob, and even a block can cast a shadow onto entities, but they shold still align themselves to that objects pixels. And fire should not have a shadow at all. I wonder how easy it would be to implement shadow distancing (if it's not already in game), what I mean by this is depending on how far an object is from the ground the shadows edge gets blurred and the darkeness of the shadow itself becomes more and more faint the further the object is from a surface. Objects should have shadows on their underside ( maybe they do) but only if they can be seen like above glass, but if the object is say above dirt which is not transparent the shadow won't be rendered. I hope we, the player, have a reflection on glass and water etcetera as well. (Maybe we could make mirrors maybe with black concrete at the back an glass at the front). Also, torches and other light sources should cast shadows themselves (the only light source to cast shadows shouldn't only be the sun) and they should clash with other light sources (like more than one torch in the same area changing how the light works) and bounce off surfaces until the light dissipates. Also, I hope light comes from the actual light source like the flame at the top of a torch instead of it being a block of light. This would allow for more realistic lighting overall but would greatly improve indoor lighting so if there's light in a hallway adjacent room where a light is inside the light will reflect through the hallway until it dissipates, or if say there is a grand hall with many chandelier like lights they will all blend the light and shadows together. This would help create the muted shadows that appear indoors and from light coming through windows. Also, you could then create beams of light shooting through cracks in walls that would shine there light onto the other wall if far enough.
I wonder if they can or will make water (and its different shades), lava, fire, etctera change how the light works, for example: muddy water from the swamps or end island water changing idk something with how the light is reflected in "color," water could add a bit of depth obscuring based on the angle of the light and your position related to the objects under water this could also allow things to squash and stretch based on your viwing angle, and lava and other hot stuff like fire could add heat waves.
This probably wouldn't happen because this doesn't happen in minecraft but for example if the sky was overcast with clouds you would still be able to see a bright spot of where the sun rays are hitting on the clouds and a torch behind a banner could make the banner sort of light up. Basically, when bright enough light hits a thin enough surface the light can appear to pass through in the same way if you put a flashlight with enough power under your hand, your hand "lights up." However, if the light is not powerful enough, the light will not pierce the object. Oh, I hope god rays are added (sort of relating back to the sun and clouds thing), although I don't know how they would do it because there's no dust for the light to hit but maybe the rain could get hit by light, just with some sort of limit so you're not blinded with a screen of light reflection (maybe the rain doesn't reflect too bright or the rain gets calculated as a body of rain instead of individual pixels, would probably need the rain pixels to actually be clear though instead of being blue. Or, god rays don't need any of that and just appear, besides it would have to work that way for the "dust" anyway. I hope they add fog and other stuff too. (Weather update, Mojang? 👉👈)
And please, If I got anything wrong or I missed anything you know about light please tell me, I would really like to talk about it because light is such a complicated and fascinating thing. And sorry for this college assignment of a comment I just wanted to get my thoughts on vibrant visuals out there and how it could be its absolute best. And I apologize for re-use of words, typing errors, and (very) terrible explanations (I'm very sorry about them), but I hope you can make some sense of them. And just as a reminder I'm not saying vibrant visuals current state is terrible, just "helping" out here. 👍😊
Please try your your redmagic phone
Why is this not popping up for xbox
Android version looks a lot more "cheap" still looking nice but I wanted PC experience xD
If the waters fog could be a tiny bit faster to adjust, it might make it feel better gameplay wise, but i do like how it gets darker. The deeper you go, the more it makes sense to me
Rain and thunder weather also need the visuals updated, currently whenever it rains the sky actually does not change
10:10 i can't quite remember the technicalitys but I know that the bilinear is the lesser version of the TAAU. If you had a lower end device you'd use the bilinear. But most people should use the TAUU
Vibrant visuals does not work on Xbox. Like I can see the option. But it doesn’t let me toggle it. Even after enabling it on experiments. What am I doing wrong
I cannot find the option on my PS5
I feel like a dynamic light addon could help with the darkness.
When will this amazing experience release
Is the Beta version discontinued yet? I thought they were making MC Preview the main thing. I thought Beta was discontinued a few years ago, but they keep putting it in the changelog.
YEARN caaapeeeeee
the end looks like a nightmare
Imagine if your phone can run genshin impact with full graphics smoothly but cannot run vibrant visual😂😂
why does it not update for me
Have you seen the tinted glass with Fancy Graphics enabled? It's no longer tinted with it on. Only the borders are tinted. I like it!
Just I quick question what devices is supported?
I need to upgrade from an Xbox Series S to a Series X, FPS goes down to 14 FPS on the lowest setting lol
whatabout the renderdragon
"enchances" pfffft only if you have a gazillion dollar pc that can at least run lowest settings at 60 fps
what kind of computer u have I can play batim and fortnite but it lags when I use them😭
stop yelling in my ear
It works on my phone but it kinda lagging but cool 😎
It just doesn't loom right when the light is shimmering underwater but it's so dark. It kinda looks like magma blocks. I just don't like it
My Minecraft preview wont launch it keeps crashing on mojang logo ever since this preview came out on pc
I hope they really expand the visual options. I would like to have really dark darkness in my survival world. Looks more ominous.
sadly not applicable on mobile devices even the ray trace😢
Wow I still cry at this fact in a good way 😂
i dont like the black sky
dark blue sky is a minecraft classic
I love how RTX is still greyed out. Might as well remove it at this point.i
For those who are on the Xbox series S and do you wanna play vibrant visuals with 60 FPS and barely frame drops make sure the quality shadow is medium make sure you have the point light shadow quality off and as all half point light quality low and then have volume metric fog quality low And then have reflections on medium and then have bloom on 45 or 40% depending on you and have the upscaling mode on TAAU and the the resolution at 50% and I’ve been playing on Minecraft preview for an hour straight and the lowest it goes on FPS is 54 FPS and the only time the frame drops is whenever I am finishing downloading a game or whenever I receive notifications on my Xbox or when I screenshot or screen record that’s when the FPS drops to 10 FPS, but if you have your notifications off and you’re not downloading a game then your game will run smoothly. Have fun and enjoy.🤙🏻🔥🔥🔥
What about lighting behind stained glass?
can i have ur pc spec ?
Bro my ps5 is still on v1.21.71💀😭
Just wanna say, this looks absolutely amazing! Water and all! My only two suggestions are they add the ability for torches to light the surroundings in your hand and also to make certain ores like diamond, lapis, gold etc. To glow naturally in the dark. Add those and the the perfect update to Minecraft. Otherwise torch wise I'm gonna be running around with like 4 stacks of torches when exploring and that's not fun
My iPad runs an M1 chip, but I can’t find the vibrant visuals toggle on experiments
