I prefer Java, but my friends play Bedrock.
So I've been playing almost exclusively Bedrock for a few years.
There's a few things where I feel "man, i wish this was in Java."

In Bedrock edition, 23 bits are used to determine the position of a player. This practically means between every power of two (in terms of coordinates), there are 2²³ (approximately 8.3 million) valid positions.
However, while powers of twos are not far apart from each other near 0, the gaps quickly grows, meaning there are as many valid positions between x=0 and x=1 than between x=2²² (about 4.15M) and x=2²³ (about 8.3M)
As a result, when surpassing 16,777,216 blocks, the gap between two valid positions raises to two blocks. This causes only blocks whose x coords are even and not divisible by 4 to render, and to render twice as large, which creates the stripe lands.
Anecdotically, at half that distance (around 8.3M), the gap between two valid positions is already at one block, meaning all entities narrower than one block will fall right through the world into the void, which even includes players. The only way to stand on blocks past this point is to ride a horse, a boat, a minecart (only if oriented correctly) or to swim in water.
Also, you will also phase through the invisible layer in the void at these distances.
