How Final Fantasy Inspired Terraria
Did you know that Terraria was inspired
by Final Fantasy 4? For example one of the bosses is called Demon Wall. It moves
towards you and if you can’t beat it in time, it crushes you! but it’s not just that. The design
for Hallowed Armor is based on Cecil’s Paladin Armor and Shadow Armor was inspired by the Dark
Knight set. Rydia is a summoner who uses a whip, which is why whips were added for summoners
and her design was the inspiration for the Dryad. Adamantine is the strongest
ore in FF4 which was also the case during 1.1. Before a boss fight, Tellah
senses an evil presence just like before the Eye of Cthulhu, and the creator of
Terraria based his own set on Golbez.
In this YouTube Short, I’ll be sharing the connections between Final Fantasy 4 and Terraria so you can see how Final Fantasy inspired Terraria.

Not to mention that the original player sprites were nearly 1/1 ripoffs of the FF4 battle sprites.
