A+ Top-Down Terraria! – Tinkerlands

Hey everyone, Wanabot here and welcome to Tinkerlands or welcome back to it if you caught my previous coverage. It is a top-own survival sandbox game that is going to be out in a couple of days on May 23rd. Uh so I’ve got a little bit of early access. And ooh, who do we want to make our character? We don’t have a whole lot of options here. Uh it’s mostly just what kind of hair do we have. Let’s Oh, good. We can go back. Cool. game actually has beard. And I don’t know. Let’s Let’s go with teal hair for once. I don’t usually roll that. Wait, our character’s name is new character. That’s not okay. Oops. At least it remembers all of my all of my details. Perfect. All right. Wabo. Create new island. Our new island is Norway. Uh, what is our difficulty? Explore. No, definitely adventure. Cool. Let’s go from there. Look out, Norway. Here I come. This is a totally what Norway looks like, right? Look at those classic fjords. You’re awake. Where am I? How are you feeling? Can you move around? Okay. Think of anything left from the ship. All right, cool. So, if you haven’t seen this game before, it is Yeah, pretty much top top down Terraria. Like, if you’ve ever played any of those games, it’s going to look and feel kind of similar. Oops. Right click for those. All right. Looks like we’re stranded here and the captain’s missing. Can you please explore the island and find the find the captain? There we go. Yeah, I’ve been playing the demos for this for a while now, but it’s finally coming out in early access on the 23rd. Uh, so in about what is it 5 days is I think the 18th. I’ll have to I don’t know. My sense of time is all sorts of scuffed at the moment. I got to turn those sound effects down like a fair bit kind of. Can I? Um, what? Wait, really? Oh, okay. It works on my controller if I press the square button. Odd. Not sure why. All right. I guess it’s probably because this is somewhat built for controller controls and so we’re going to have a couple of oddities, but that’s okay. Uh, but yeah, I don’t know. It’s finally coming out in early access, which means I can probably invest some time into it at some point. I want to play this in multiplayer cuz I think this would be a lot of fun. I love Terraria. I’ve been playing well I I played Terraria back when it was like pre Wall of Flesh or at least when Wall of Flesh was like the final but Excuse me. Come back. Well, I was going to do other things, but instead I guess I’m going to chase down and merk this dude if I can. The problem is he’s faster than me. Come back. Wait. Yes. Aha. You cannot escape me with my friends. The rocks. Yeah, that probably was kind of unethical, but whatever. Can I eat this? What do these do? Permanently increases max MP by Yep. All right, we’re off to a good start. I found a goblin and I murdered him. Now, what are we going to do? What do we even Do we have a goal? Cuz I didn’t actually check. Codeex H. No, that’s enemies. I just want to make sure she didn’t have anything else to say to me. Uh, nice to know that I can just freely swim and chase after a goblin. We’ll have to go find some places to build up. Yeah, I don’t know. I played a played a whole bunch of Terraria back when I was in high high school. High school and then college and stuff. Really? Has it been that long? Maybe it was like early college. Not in high school yet. I’d have to check when Terraria first came out in early access. Uh, but yeah, played just like an obsessive amount of it because it is a freaking good game and uh it was like a really good kind of land partyish game. Get a group of people together and just run around doing goof things, fighting bosses, building up, searching and exploring. Um, and so I’ve always been like super partial to games like it and I’ve been looking for more games that can kind of match what Terraria offered back in the day. uh and still now. And unfortunately, I find a lot of them are just like Terraria again, but maybe not quite as much. And so, I’ve been finding myself especially drawn to the ones that are top down because it feels like there’s a little bit more of a um uh there’s a little bit more creativity there. And also, I hate fighting gravity when it comes to the get a something over there. I hate fighting gravity when it comes to like fighting stuff in Terraria. uh that I found it actually kind of agonizing uh trying to fight some of the later bosses where it’s just like you’re running along platforms and kind of flying and gliding and stuff, but it always felt just like a little awkward and wrong. Uh that the game didn’t quite mechanically fit the idea of being like a full boss rush game after a certain point. Like it went too hard. Okay, we’ll have to come back to this one. But we do want to check that out because I think this is good. cuz that’s how I get mana. There we go. Took some effort, but hey. So, since we’re getting a bunch of MP, I might want to look into more wizardy builds. Okay. And I think this is where I want to be. Yeah. So, the desert is the area where we get access to copper. I’m not going to be able to get too much of it because going into the desert is extremely dangerous and going to kill me. But at the very least, we can kind of hang out in the general vicinity of the desert. Excuse me, I’m not in the desert anymore. But I’m going to go along this until we find kind of an interesting place to stop. This is an interesting spot. Well, it’s not saying no. That’s a bunch of wood. We do want to stay away from that because that is going to kill me. These these new biomes are interesting or subbiome or whatever the heck this is. Probably put down a new crafting bench and actually, you know, make some better tools. Discovered the forgotten altar. Is it this? No idea. All right. Well, all things considered, how do I craft anything? Crafting. Okay. Recipes. Crafting table. Okay. So, we need probably a bunch of that. And I’m going to need rock. All right. We’re off to a swimming start. Well, on the plus side, we did find another cool thing up here. Something about this statue does worry me a little bit. Oh, no. It’s fine. Okay. Savage accessory. Slightly reduces enemy spawn. That’s kind of nice. Can I take it with me? Cuz some extra storage makes sense. Looks like there’s also a building up here. Yeah, cuz I might as well build somewhat of a base. And frankly, if it’s a house that comes pre-complete with a treasure chest, I might as well just live in here. At least until I can find a better base. Okay. Well, I did say I should mess around with magic. We’ve got a staff right off the bat. I don’t think I’m going to stick to it too for too long. Also really love the fact that we have tools for left and right click here. That feels really good to me. Purely from the perspective of like it just feels Oh, perfect. Excuse me, sir. You thought you could escape me, but then you lived in my house. Or is this your house? I have no idea. I probably I probably just evicted the guy from life. I’m a bad person. These games make me a bad person. Okay. So, let’s check. Let’s move some things around. So, we have these. Also have another life flower, so I can boost my health. Wonder what the upper limit on that is. Moving treasure chest. I have no idea. All right. So, I was going to build crafting crafting table. Okay. So, yeah. Don’t have enough for the furnace or the other things. We can do a slime voodoo doll sawmill. The rest of this Yeah. requires. Oh, there’s something here. That’s what’s going on. Yeah, there’s still there’s still uh leaves in this house. I was wondering why I couldn’t put a another torch down. Okay, so let’s go back to this body armor. Do not have enough for the boots or the helmet, but that’s okay. At least we have some basic things. Oh, that’s probably cosmetics, isn’t it? Yeah. All right, time to just merc some gabos. Do I have any others? I don’t know. We have slimes. Okay, so fun fact, mana doesn’t stick around for long. So, I can’t do that super consistently. That’s okay. What I need more than anything else? It’s probably stone cuz we really got to get those better tools. We are going to be hamstrung for a while. There we go. I’ll have to figure out a alternate a secondary weapon to roll with. I just don’t know what I want to use yet. Probably something melee without limits. H I should probably harvest all of these bones cuz there’s actually a number of things that require them. Another goblin. Come back creature. There we go. Yeah. So like magic comes back. Oh, it actually comes back extremely fast. But that might be out of combat. I’ll have to play around with it. Stay in combat with something for a little while and see if I can get my hands on um uh it not get my hands on anything. Uh just wait for it to respawn. See if it’s really slow or if it actually speeds up accordingly. Yeah, I could probably live here. It’s close enough to the desert that I’m not like super duper far away, but far far enough that I have room to expand and I won’t have to worry about random things showing up in my house. The desert enemies are pretty aggressive. Okay, I probably have enough to get the tools I need at the very least cuz we should get those better tools before I go too far cuz otherwise I’m just kind of wasting my time. Okay, so we can also do a bone helm, bone body armor, some other things. Okay, yeah, I should have started with those. That probably would have saved me some times. We also have a shovel and a hoe. We’ll leave those for later. Boomerang might not be a bad move. Let’s make a boot, but nah. Don’t have enough leather. Don’t have some other things. Okay. Anvil. So, we still need some more coal and rock and wood and things. Well, at least I got the better tools, so this should go faster. Oh, yeah. That’s so much better. I don’t know why I was toughing it out earlier cuz Yeah, we can we can chew through these in no time flat. And as a bonus, it doesn’t leave a stump anymore. Okay. Can I break these? Yes. Yeah. We got to figure out where I got the coal from. Oh. Well, there’s the answer cuz yeah, I’m going to need at least a little bit of it. Then maybe some more wood. I mean, we’re always going to need a lot of both. Oh, there’s some kind of Ah, there’s another mana flower over here. Oh yeah, I didn’t start with any mana, did I? Or did I start with 20 and I gained 10 per? I have no idea. But yeah, getting getting that early mana actually was kind of strike of stroke of luck, especially if I want to go for a mana build. Uh, and I mean, considering I’ve been giving the given the magic staff, it seems like a kind of no-brainer to keep with the trend. I think I might need a shovel if I want to get more of those. 80 mana now. That’s good stuff. Okay, so what do I do? Do we go back? I probably have enough materials that I can get the rest of the smithy down. I know we can get extra towns folk, but I don’t know if I can if I have to recruit them or if they just show up on their own. cuz I know the guide will show up because we’ve already unlocked them, but the rest I might have to find. Uh, we’ll see. Okay. Do we think this is good enough? At least for now. Back. I have less rocks than I did earlier. Just get stuck. Well, we found the snow biome at the very least. All right, we are good. Another mana flower and other things. Okay, should be good. Let’s take the anvil home. I really need something to boost my speed though cuz uh yesesh. All right, anvil down. And we wanted to get this as well. Okay, so I can now make some copper and we can make coal automatically. Perfect. I think that just happens instantly, which is nice. Get the boots. Even if the boots aren’t particularly good, it’s good enough. Okay, sawmill lets me make a bed. Okay, now we can respawn in here. We also have a mannequin, bookshelves, signs, big tables, bush walls. I think most of this stuff isn’t particularly useful. The only other thing I’d probably do is grab a boomerang. Okay, there’s also the bonerang. 10 range damage, nine range damage. Very fast. Very fast. No knock back. So, not really too much of a big difference here. So, other question is, oh, I should probably throw that in. Map chart. Don’t know. Uh, let’s see. Stacked nearby chest. Well, that’s nice. I think we just want to get rid of both of those. I could maybe sell them, but eh, map chart. Plenty of money. So, big question is, can I craft with things? Yes, there is area crafting. I don’t know how substantial it is. I don’t know how good it is, but we can. And now that I’m at least somewhat fully equipped or Really? This is a pickaxe job. Weird. At least now that I have some basic armor. It’s nothing fancy. It’s not that good, but it’s good enough for me to get through here and go into the desert. I say is this freaking hedge forest actually is pretty large. Okay. Yeah, I know. Being in the desert is is bad for me, but I don’t know. Okay, that actually does seem kind of bad. At least I can do like short forays in grab the useful bits and get out before it gets like too bad for me. Okay, the boomerang. Boomerang’s pretty good, too. Magic’s a little better, but only like marginally. Ow. Ooh, that hurt. I don’t know what happens when I die. Well, I get to keep all my stuff, so that’s good. Okay, so we need a different type of wood. Dead wood, probably. All right. Well, that’s tricky. Yeah. Codeex inventory community. There we go. The guide. Nine tiles, light source surrounded by walls in the surface. Furniture required. And you need to be physically in the house to actually put them in there. Okay, cool. Yeah, I can work on that. Let’s go see if there’s anything. Is there a consequence for death? Nope. I am immortal. I wonder if the desert is bad at night. if it’s one of those that you can sneak in. I want to say it’s like a minstrol character that we have to find that gives us the ability to withstand the desert. It’s uh doesn’t help too much. Unfortunately, what we’re looking for is kind of dead wood. At least we can take those guys out. Blind bandana. And yeah, I wonder I wonder if the desert is actually harmful to me beyond just like the enemies that are going to attack me here. It seems like it mostly just like cooks my vision and nothing more. Oh, well, there’s a smith. Okay, that’s an NPC that I can talk to. Okay. Ow. And part of the problem is I haven’t gotten a whole lot of health yet. So, taking hits like that are it’s not great for me. I I’m not even in the desert anymore. What are you doing? What is this thing? Oh, just a moss rock. The one unfortunate part can’t dual wield. You can have two weapons, but it doesn’t actually let you uh use them simultaneously. What’s the deal with you recipes? Do not know. Nice to have this like completely other area though. I appreciate it. It’s nice to have something else I can explore. Yeah, let’s figure out our way home. Unfortunately, yeah, it’s going to take some doing to get through this zone. Wooden wood wooden leather or yeah, wooden arrows. Leather. We definitely need a whole mess of leather for certain things. I want to get those boots. Wonder if there’s like goblin camps or other places I could be going. Cauldron requires more copper though. Might let me make a potion that I can deal with, though. Okay, do not have enough leather for more of those. Uh, cauldron. We’re going to make here. The answer is nothing. Well, yeah, it’s a bit tricky. Okay, move the cactus, mummy, bandage, fire, flower, string. Yeah, all that stuff can go away. And yeah, I might as well move my coins. Keep those stored as well. Sort that and move that. I don’t know how many of these are actually like useful, necessary, or anything of the sort. So, increases dodge, increases movement speed, and yeah, uh I mean, I guess the bone is better, like noticeably better. Okay, so that’s how we get the leaf gun. Oh, seven damage versus Okay, bone bow is better. I think I recognize some of these. Can also make a copper fishing rod. Yeah, it looks like a lot of this stuff is kind of worthless to me at the moment. Um, okay. Let’s community move the guide in. Who can we talk to them? Guide quest. Okay. New beginning working table. Done. Complete. New quest. Stone pickaxe. This is silly. Okay, there we go. Got it. Let’s see. Build a sawmill. Done. It’s what I get for jumping ahead. Okay. Music coming from the woods. Quest. Lost in the woods. Got an alter. So in the woods question mark. Yep. So there’s a bard somewhere in the woods. I guess we just have to go find him. Well, I guess I’m just going to wander aimlessly until we find any kind of housing. Presumably NPC. I need to kill goblins anyway for leather. I’m back. I need you for your bits. A bard here. Wonder if it’s one of those where you can actually hear the bard. And yeah, I might as well take the treasure chest with me. We’re always going to need more storage. Okay. I wonder if I can get in there at this point. Okay. Yep. I can smash my way in. It’s not like this place is too complicated. Or no, never mind. I can’t. I thought it was yelling at me at the wall, but yeah, it’s too too low. Okay. Unfortunately, yeah, I don’t think I’m seeing anything any bars here, but I guess we can snag all of the like extremely easy copper in the area. I also really like the fact that similar items stack up together. That is a good choice. Okay. But yeah, still no bard. I was hoping I get a bit of a a direction on this one, but I guess I’m just going to have to I’m just going to have to wander. Okay, survived it. And yeah, I can kind of vaguely see where things might be. Oh no, another treasure. Hopefully we get a homing spell at some point just because they can kind of vaguely see where things are. So, if like I really really wanted to, I could probably wander around in the desert. I don’t. It seems like a pain in the butt. What is this? Oh, travel to your house instantly. I mean, that’s nice. Was it reusable? Oh, no. It’s just usable. Hello. Yes, I would like to find the bod there. Anything? I was hoping there would at least be like a a music shift if you get near near to where he’s hiding, but alas, no dice so far. Ow. And that one left a stump for me. I guess maybe it’s just the bigger trees do. the smaller ones, not so much. So, yeah, I guess I’m just going to wander around. I guess I should have grabbed that. I should grab the chest. Whenever I pop a chest open, it would be It’s silly of me not to grab uh for me not to grab the chest cuz otherwise I’m going to go back into that place at a later date and be like, “Wo, another treasure chest.” Oops. Like I’ve done it before. I’ve done it so many times where I leave the the bonus treasure chest for myself or you know just forget to pick it up and whoopsie. I get excited. Nope. No. Did I hear something? I did. You’re not in the forest. Don’t the bard protect I can protect you from the desert. Build me a house. Yeah. Ooh, I need a golden desert key looking thing. Okay, so what I’m looking for is an alternative type of wood. This is not it. But I’m not going to say no to a series of houses with just random things in them. Yeah, it’s like dead wood. I don’t think it’s this. It could be. Nope. Yes. So, I can plant some palm trees if I really want to. We’re just going to snag each of these just in case we can find something cool out of it. That one had iron in it. H Yeah. So, the the desert is not dangerous. It is just murky as hell. Oh, there it is. I figure we have a decent amount of copper at this point. Yeah, wasteland wood. So, I might as well make a little bit of stuff while I’m here. I do see some mummies. I I’m sure this is the best watching experience, but on the flip side, it’s just convenient here. Okay, so far so good. Little bit of everything. That’s still just a blacksmith there. Another locked temple. Hopefully this counts for map progress, but I want to get next to this thing. Okay, let’s go back. So, if we go back here, we should have enough copper for at least a couple of things. And then I can make uh I can’t make a pickaxe. Where do I put the rest of my copper? Oh, we have a cactus sword, flippers, so faster movement, water, bomb, sand, other things, more treasure chests, which are going to be nice. We’re just going to get rid of that. I guess I could try and sell things. Okay, so we want to do, let me check, minimum nine tiles. So, a 3×3 light source, walls, surface, main island, and it’s going to need these two. Yeah. So, we might as well pick them both up. So, I’m going to need nine nine of these. And then I’m going to need so many more walls. So, let’s I guess go smack a billion trees. Where did I what did I use my other copper on? This is going to bug me. I have no idea. This wasn’t an accessory, was it? No. I don’t know. Maybe the gremlins came and took it and said, “No, you can’t have this.” Yeah. The problem is I need so much wood to make all of these housing bits that I’m going to have to chop down like half the trees in the area. It’s okay. We can always plant more. The other thing we can do is actually cannibalize the house. Wow, the bard is just here. went on a saga to look for him and he found me. It’s like, “Have you finished my house yet? I’ve been feeling particularly unhoused lately and I’d like that to change.” Yeah, it’s a pretty good sword. Okay. Max 19. That should be good enough, I say. But I need other things. At least they don’t need a bed. Okay, I’m going to swap these. Oh, wait. Did Did I have multiple recall scrolls? Must have. Either that or it’s reusable. At which point that’s awesome. Okay, those there. I’ll have to come back at a later date and actually clean these up, but it’s more important that I just have it work. At least for now. Once we have better tools, it’ll be so much easier for me to like chew through a house or a house worth of trees. Okay, I still need a door though, so we’ve got to go for that. Hopefully, maybe there’s easier ways. No, I’m probably just going to have to make a tree farm. I guess the other thing is I’m going for the smaller trees when I really should be going for the big suckers. Nope. Doesn’t seem like it made too much of a difference. Okay. Hey, do we just keep clearing this out? Oddly enough, the goblins don’t seem particularly aggressive towards me, which is a little goofy considering I’m uh bogged down with the uh loot that I’ve gained off of their many corpses. They run away pretty fast, too. Makes me feel like a bad person. I probably am. Okay, smack these down. What was I going Well, what am I going to do? Build a door for sure cuz I don’t think we need to do anything else. Hopefully, they don’t need beds. Oh, I guess I should figure out what the bard wants. He just wants a stool and a table. Okay, I’m going to keep taking these guys out, though. Oh, right. Light source. I don’t keep torches on me for some reason. Let’s fix that. Uh torches. Okay. Blacksmith. Move it in. We can shop here. So, she sells an iron pickaxe, but we don’t have enough money and coal. Wow, that’s not much. I feel like I’ve broken them. Actually might. No, I don’t. There’s no way I have enough gold. Okay. Cuz yeah, if I check this, how much how much money is I sitting on? Yeah, maybe money isn’t lost on death. It didn’t seem like it dropped when I died. Okay, sort. Nothing there. Nothing there. Uh, okay. I’m going to need nine more floors and as many walls as I can make, which is that is not enough cuz I should probably get the bard’s house down cuz then he just plays a song so I can go into the desert and then I’m clear. Who’s that? You look like a not goblin. Okay, so this is the merchant. Merchant sells number of things. Uh rusty equipment. Don’t care too deeply about it. We have the talisman frog leg, which we could use, but not at the moment. Flower pot. I think most of this stuff is not that helpful. This is low temperatures for a while. All right, but at least we’ve met them, so we can add them to the community. I just have to finish building all the other houses that I need to build. It’s going to be me, me and the guide in the impressive house, and then everybody else gets a little closet. Seems fair. Everybody else just sits there and waits for me to get things done. The guide tells me I need to go get things done. I am in fact their whipping boy. Okay. So, oh jeez, going to take a while. It’s why I wanted to try and blitz the um That’s why I wanted to try and blitz the better axe, cuz it would go a little faster. I guess I could go back out there and do it, but lazy. Okay, so we need one, two, three, four, four, and four. So, I need roughly 16 walls per door. That should be enough. And yeah, at some point I can come back and spruce this up, make it look nice. I guess we’re still going to also need Um, yeah, light source. I’m still going to need enough to get that stool. Let’s see. Cuz I’m going to need a stool and I’m going to need the table. Get those and we can at least get everything else. Okay, where are these? cuz I should probably plant. Oh, am I going to I’m going to need to actually look into farming for that one. All right. Uh question. Can I make this boot? Yes, leather boot increases max run speed. That’ll be nice. Guess the other thing I considered is actually making houses out of stone. Okay, this this will give me the bar. All right, and this should be the bard. Perfect. Protection from desert lasts for 10 minutes. Should be good enough. Let’s get out there and actually um find some useful resources. I just I need so much copper. Man, I thought we had a lot, but I guess I’m wrong. Ow. At least I heal like reasonably quickly out of combat. I thought I thought I did anyway. There it goes. It just takes a while. Let’s see. Yeah, we’ll probably need some more wood at some point, too. But I’m not going to rush for it. I think I think we just want to grab as many of these big copper deposits as we possibly can. I’m going to check out that town, too. That’s not a town. That’s like half a building. That’s not useful to me. That mostly worked. Being able to outrange my enemies is nice. And yeah, we’re back up to full health. I’ll have to figure out how to get the health fruits. cuz I actually get the distinct feeling those are going to be extremely valuable to me. Okay, get one more. Hopefully this is enough. Should be. I’ll take some of the small deposits as we go by. I do really wish they’d pick up. Unfortunately, I have to wait for the entire drop animation to go before you hoover them. or at least there’s a little bit of a grace period that’s kind of awkward to work with. Okay. Yeah. Anything else to really go with? I don’t think so. I think we just kind of work work our way back. Guess if I if I bank that much more copper, we could also make armor. cuz I was mostly thinking of getting the tools, but I’m getting like shrubs just based on like anything that hits me, I take a bunch of damage. So, yeah, let’s just be obsessive here. Prickly pears. We can turn those into seeds. That’s nice. Actually, I’m just going to I’m just going to cut kind of a slow swath back home. We should probably actually get that hoe down. Uh or the hoe done so we can actually um farm some of these cuz I’ve got like half a half a dozen seeds. Well, probably a lot more than that. Is that another merchant or is this the traveling merchant? Okay, so they have the heaven heavenly amulet increases range damage. Uh, the rosary. Max HP and MP. Cactus sword. Frozen arrow. HP potion. Some bread. Oh, bread increases your max HP by a bunch. Now, here’s the question. Okay. Traveling merchant cannot be given a house. He just do what he do. So yeah, doesn’t look look like I can do anything about that. At least for now. Oh, right. Smith’s in here. I guess what I should probably do, well, just give her a chest. Okay, that should be good enough. Don’t have enough for those. Don’t have enough for that. So, definitely want the pickaxe. Definitely want the axe. And I think that’s all of my resources. Guess I’ll pull that out. I can find the merchant again. Yeah, I’m going to need a lot more. Oh, we can actually sell things to her. So, those those actually sell for an amount. Not a huge amount, but they do sell. Um, anything else? Yeah, mummy material. Not not that valuable. Think I’m going to start putting this down. One, two, three, cuz I might as well get the merchant as well. Give myself a little bit of space. I think eventually Well, I mean, all things considered, the guide has been evicted. Wow, they just wink out of existence. That’s main logic. mostly boils down to I just don’t need the front space. Oh, is that the merchant right there? What’s the merchant need? A chest. Well, that’s easy. Yeah, it looks like the mer merchant. Nine and a door. Yeah, I think I’m going to start making these out of stone, though, considering we’re getting oodles of bonus stone. Okay. Flower pot. Oh, from the flooring. Got it. All right. And merchant. Okay. So, do they sell anything extra? The answer is largely no. Portable candle, though. Now, I admit just a little bit of light. Not a huge amount, but it’s there. Okay, what else do we have? Tinker’s table. Fair enough. Doesn’t look like I have anything else. Okay, let’s let’s get that down because that lets me start combining accessories together. This game wears its uh inspirations on its sleeve. Did I just explode a butterfly? I think I did. Did I ever make another bed? I didn’t. I’m going to immediately evict the guide or no. Interesting. I’m going to put that there. Okay, back to this tinker’s table. Wasteland wood. Okay, guess we’re going back out to the desert. Oh, at least I have uh I have some light radius that I can rely on, so it’s not too bad. And yeah, we’ve got the better axes that actually don’t chop that much faster. Excuse me. Sir, come back. I need your precious flowers. Thank you. Get that max mana eventually. What I really need though is the uh the heart flowers, but those seem to be a little rare. Oh, I guess we I suppose I can eat bread. 15 minutes. Yeah, it’s good. Let’s go back and talk to the bard, too, in retrospect. I wish if the bard was present, you’d have like a little bit of like some extra music in the area. I wish more games did that where like, you know, the game has a background soundtrack, but if you have like it changes a little bit depending on your your scenery and stuff. Uh I guess I recognize that that’s a lot of extra work. But still, we should probably also get a shovel down. At least I’m in a very good spot for fighting things. And because we have the Savage Talisman, there aren’t as many things out to kill me. Still a number, just not as many. Okay. Uh jeez. How much copper do I need? In retrospect, I think it’s like roughly eight eight copper bars for the helmet, eight for the legs, eight for the uh 12 for the chest, something like that. So, that’s what Let’s go with 30. I need 120 copper ore before I head back home. Plus wasteland wood plus who knows what else. Okay, that’s actually not an insane amount. Each of the big deposits gives me about 10. So, I just have to find 12 of those and we’re good. Small ones pay out considerably worse. I do have my recall scroll. Yeah, hopefully that that’s reusable. I I love the magic mirror in Terraria purely as a convenience thing of just like let me go home when I want to. Still wish some of these games would have like the torch light dog or the town portals from um Diablo. I I mean truly like I do feel like uh Crossing Terraria with Diablo could be an incredible game. Yeah, for some reason I don’t think I can think of any that have actually pulled it off. Well, some kind of get there. Starbound did some interesting things and then that was kind of it. It was I don’t know. Starbound’s weird. It’s one of those where like I really enjoyed it. It had some really good ideas and the modding scene made it so much better, but some parts of it, man, just confused the heck out of me. Makes me want a second one. I was actually really excited for Terraria Otherworld, but it looks like that’s been wrapped. I think now it might be just back full steam ahead on like a Terraria 2, though. So, I think they’re still updating. Uh I think they’re still updating the first one. Like they keep saying, “No, we’re done. No, we’re done.” You know, never again. We’ll never be back. We’re working on other things now. And then they just a little bit later. Oops. Never mind. Here’s more. Okay. Loot all, including a shield accessory. Immunity to knock back. That’s good stuff. There we go. Explode him. That’s a pretty good place for resources. Decent amount of copper rocks. A lot of big ones. And yeah, enough wasteland wood that I’ll be able to build kind of whatever I need. Yeah. Hopefully, this is enough for me to build the suit of armor. And I don’t know if there’s any weapons I want to grab cuz we have the cactus sword and like the magic staff is good at the moment, but it’s probably going to dip off in terms of usefulness. The main thing with this is I have enough magic to just blast out a couple of hits and not have to worry about being anywhere close to anything. I think I need to kill him. Or he’s going to kill me. We will see. Please give me the goods. Heart of stone. It’s a material. Okay. Actually looks like it’s a totally regular enemy. I wasn’t sure if it was like a kind of special dude mid boss or something of the like. And the answer is nope. Let’s see. Wasteland. What am I sitting on? A little over 100. Let’s get these last two big copper rocks kind of in this area and every wasteland tree in between. And then I think we just head back, go from there. Feels like every time I play this game, I don’t make a whole lot of progress. I get through the desert, maybe can get to the ice zone and that’s about it, unless I want to play that much more or cut ahead. I don’t actually hate that though. It’s a pretty decent clip. Does make me wonder like where this game goes past the ice zone cuz I’ve never gotten there. I’ll probably do a video on it. I think the big one for me is this is definitely the kind of thing I want to bring my friends in for. Uh we really enjoyed Coreke Keeper. Uh I guess it was last year at this point. Did we Did we finish it up this year? No, I think I think we finished it up last year. I know my sense of time is terrible. Already 5 and 1/2 months into this year. What the hell? It’s equal parts going like a mile a minute and extremely slowly. I think so much of it boils down to going on vacation for a whole month really does kind of mess with your sense of time. Okay. Anything else? I mean, there’s so much more I could grab, but I think this is enough. And then some. No, I can just keep using that. That’s so good. Devs, don’t nerf, please. Okay, let’s make the tinky tinky table. Put it down. I’m sure that’s probably used for an NPC. Okay. Protection from the cold. I need to move these things so they’re not in the same room as the guide. Okay. So, if I had the flippers and the boot, we can do the craft. We now have merman boot. And the rest of this stuff I’m going to have to work on, but later. Uh, let’s see. Okay, back here. I’m just going to need a lot of coal. Okay, now I don’t need any more coal. What can I make that only that’s 40 bars? I mean, hopefully it’s enough. Not enough for a tool beans. Okay. Increases maximum HP and MP by 20. Yeah, it’s pretty good. Unfortunately, I don’t think we got anything else that like really is that good. Don’t have enough money for that. Getting there, but not enough bottles. I guess I can sell the wooden sword. We don’t. We surely don’t need that. I’m shiny now. Okay, put those away. Pop this open. Oh yeah, we are full on a lot of stuff. Oops. Why does money sometimes not go into my inventory correctly? I have no idea. put the forest floor away. Everything else is looking kind of dandy. Um, well, I guess if I wanted to, I could go here. Teleport potion. Travel your house instantly. But I have this recall scroll. Oh, cells for two golds. Did we just get absurdly lucky with that then? I suppose so. Get like two more. Okay, let’s go talk to them. Way to sustain the lower temperatures. Oh, okay. Entrance the caves in the snow. So, at this point, we I guess we can head to the snow biome. We kind of know where it is. There’s still a lot of things that I haven’t messed around with. Oh, wait. No, never mind. Is this just this snow biome right here? Holy smokes. I picked a good spot for my house. Going to take me a little bit to get through all this stuff, but yeah, we’re just here now. Obviously, I’m not in a safe spot. Uh I’m not strong at all. Oh, at least we have the tundra trees. And yeah, that hot cocoa only lasts for a little while, which is not great. Okay, I can kill them. It just takes some real doing. I’m just going to back off for a smidge. Let’s go over here. Just calmly mine some stone. and mind our business. Mind ice. Okay. Igloo wall, ice torch, some other things. I’m just going to wait for my health to come back. Like he’s looking at me like he’s ready. He’s cruising for that bruising. Okay, so the tree blocks my shots. It doesn’t block his. Rude. Yeah, we definitely need a better staff than the one I’m hucking around. Like it was so fortuitous early and then that was it. That was all of our fortuitousness and everything else has been pretty basic sense, but that’s okay. Can’t get obscenely lucky all the time. Anyway, I think this is a good enough stopping point at least for now. I have not necessarily made it any further than any of my other foray into this game. There is a chest there. Hold up. Okay, you dead. Please have a good kind of expensive. Bit of a pain. Not sure if not not sure of good. I like how the music is just a little Christmy. Old jingle bell is nice. Okay, we have that. Welcome traveling merchant. What do you sell? Increase melee damage. The rest of this I mean Oh, it’s a mining arrow. Iron staff. Everything is expensive. Oh boy. What else do we have in the area? Cuz I mean I guess I can try and kill the wolf. Okay. Oh, get a wolf tooth. I can try and find iron. Oh, it’s a snowman, which is now dead. Snow wall and nothing more. Oh. Either way, this is charming. I really like this game and I’m looking forward to like really sinking my teeth into it as it develops. I usually wait until I’m like a game is full done before I actually put that much time in just because uh I really want to be able to fully enjoy the process. There is a portal there. Why is there a portal there? I have no idea. I think I’m going to need to investigate this. It’s a waypoint. In fact, they do 46 damage to me. That hurts. Cool. So, I can now warp between locations. Although, that would help if I had other locations to warp between, but I actually really like the uh idea and existence of checkpoints. Checkpoints, warp points that I can just use. Speaking of, let’s go home. Anyway, I guess with all this said, uh it’s a pretty good stopping point. Uh so, I might as well repeat once again that uh Tinkerlands is coming out on Steam in a matter of days. It’s going to be out on the 23rd.
