  1. I think there's a pretty good chance we find out the release date as the update goes live. Red doesn't seem like the kind of guy to make us wait longer than necessary

  2. I personally think it'll launch in the summer, especially since they mentioned at the end of last year that they were just adding a few more small things.

  3. While I would rather the update come out sooner or later, I've personally never felt that the devs have overhyped it. Terraria is also already in my opinion complete, and 1.4.5 will be just some extra fun stuff added onto the already polished game.

  4. I’m glad they’re taking their time with this update, and as an avid summoner main I’m glad i have more options in my choice of weapons (and i can finally stop reforging everything to ruthless) This update looks huge with so many quality of life features, and with every new SOTG we keep getting more teasers. I’m so excited for this update!

  5. Palworld: Tides of Terraria collab is announced to relese this summer, so maybe 1.4.5 will come out at the same time?

  6. I love terraria. But i don’t really care about the update. They announced 3 years ago. When it comes I’ll play it. And I’ll still enjoy the game. But im not hyped for 1.4.5

  7. As an autistic person, this thumbnail with the lack of cliffs is too different, too abruptly. I have trouble adjusting to new things. I am disappointed, Hudson J.

  8. I even forgot about 1.4.5 being a thing !

Though the fact this update is taking this long means it will add MANY new content things and best of all: QOL FEATURES which is something I absolutely love, of course along with the new content addition things that will come too
There's some things that they showed us that made me surprised about the update and one of them was FISHING, they are going to make fishing DYNAMIC (visually atleast) in the update, you will be able to see fishes roaming around and everything and THIS will surely make me feel WAY less bored about fishing, I wonder if you will be able to see crates too and I also REALLY hope you see fishes normally without sonar potions, its one of the things I really got hyped around for this update at the time

  9. Honestly I'm fine with the update taking so long, it feels so much shorter compared to some other indie games

    skong

  10. I would rather a game get one big update every 1-4 years than itty-bitty updates every few months. One big update makes me want to start all over and sink more than 20 hours into a new playthrough. Itty-bitty updates may make me want to check out for 2 hours and drop it because there is nothing to sink my teeth into.

    I'm talking about Minecraft btw.

  11. god i cannot wait. its been a nice amount of time since ive done a terraria playthrough so any time around RIGHT NOW would be the perfect time.

  12. Suddenly out of nowhere they are gonna reveal something incredibly absurd, like a system of playable background/foreground layers to the world, which the world generates into too and which would allow you to jump between them like if the world was 3D

  13. I assume it will come out the same time as the Palworld: Tides of Terraria; Both games are having huge cross over events and I think some mechanics in the Palworld update will feature 1.4.5 content, so perhaps 1.4.5 will be before P:ToT

  14. I just wish people on the Steam State of the Game posts weren’t so overly negative about it, talking as if this isn’t a free update to a game over a decade old (that already is full in content by itself for years)

  15. It will be out when its ready. C`mon ppl you new here? There was a time when we wait for update 5 years and that was a dark times. Just bukle up and wait. When is ready be ready.

  16. I think it might be a bit overhyped, to be honest. It's cool that they're adding a bunch of new stuff to it and a bunch of new QoL features, but some of the new items seem like stuff nobody's gonna use (unless I'm forgetting anything). It may just be more bloat.
Not to sound ungrateful that they're still putting so much loving care and effort into Terraria after all these years, but I feel like after this update, any more items are going to make it bloated and any more QoL won't make the game better, due to the game's flaws falling under fundamental issues. But maybe I'm just being a "quit having fun" twitter user.

Could be huffing copium, but maybe the reason this update's taken so long is because they're secretly working on Terraria 2 in the background.
