You CAN Make Money With Minecraft Mods? #minecraft #minecrafteula
Can you make money with Minecraft mods? The answer, yes. While the ULA specifically states that you cannot make money under any circumstances, the more important documents known as the guidelines actually clears up the fact that there’s no restrictions on mods asking for money. I also spoken to Moing about this issue and they reiterated the fact that they don’t have an issue with paid mods as long as they still allow players who don’t have that mod installed to play together. This means serverside only mods are totally fine to be paid for. A good example would be Axium, where you pay a license to use it in multiplayer. But even if you don’t, you can still play Minecraft totally fine. Let me know if you have more questions below and I will see you

Before you comment, The EULA is a legal document that should be read in full, together with the Guidelines. The EULA states you cant make money of Modifications, however the Guidelines then clarify that they only go after mods that make it impossible to play together if either party has that mod installed.
The EULA are the general rules, The guidelines are specific cases they will and wont go after as they state at the end of the "Modifications" part.
M-m-m-money
While legal, the nature of Minecraft plugins and mods will pretty much always result in a free clone that is of similar or better quality.
Plus there is the acceptance aspect in the community. With paid mods being highly controversial.
So it's still technically a violation of your contract. While Minecraft's EULA is a nightmare for any lawyer, this part seems clear enough. You are not allowed to "try to make money from [Mods]", but as per this video, they will not pursue violations resulting from this, provided that the Mod does not cause paywalled access to a server.
I would have liked to be more specific with the Guidelines, but I can't find the part that Lunar is referencing
well now thats explain everything
hmm, so that means Add-ons aren't an exception, and when I say addons I mean the Marketplace Add-ons not the ones you can find for free on things like MCPEDL.
shouldnt it be client side only mods? because if you try to enter a server with a certain mod you have not installed in ypu client it wont work. But it works the other way around, you can play vanilla servers with client side mods installed, like minimaps or such.
