We Competed to Create the Perfect Stardew Valley Farm (Chaos Ensued)

The time has come. Let’s be clear. Last time, an anomaly, a fluke, a statistical improbability that will never happen again. Melons, your reignous champion was brief. Please prepare yourself because I have returned. And this time, I’m not leaving without that trophy. Hi everyone, I’m Gunamobi and today I’m back with my friend Melons to once again go head-to-head in a competition to see who can create the best looking farm in a set amount of time. And if you saw our first attempt at this, don’t worry, we’ve made a few adjustments. Once again, we’ll be using the CJB mods to allow us to autobuild, have access to all items, and so on. But we are also adding a bit more time to the timer, an hour and 15 minutes, which spoiler did turn into an hour and a half. Each of us will have a small amount of planning time beforehand, and we will each be starting out with a set amount of buildings already built on our farms that we will be able to move into place once the timer starts as the first time around that became quite the time waster. So, with the spin of the wheel to decide our farm type is unfortunately the beach farm. Let’s get started. Oh, wait. We have a twist. Along with our randomized farm type, we will use another randomizer to choose between these design themes. And the winner is Dark and Spooky. Yikes. Looks like this may be a little harder than I thought. So, let’s get started. Okay. Three, two, one, go. Okay, good luck. Good luck to you. I’m nervous. Okay, it’s just us now. The idea of doing a beach farm and a spooky theme, those don’t really go together in my mind. I don’t want to see any comments about choosing the largest, second largest, however big farm for this challenge. Once again, it was randomized. Okay guys, I did see a comment or two like, “Why would you choose such a large farm?” That’s why. All that being said, we did do a little planning. And in full transparency, I feel like I got nowhere in terms of planning, but I did think of a few things. So, again, I’m going to move my house. So, these are all the buildings that we’re starting with as I mentioned in the intro, and I don’t really know if I’m going to even keep them all, but here are a few things I thought of. I want to move the buildings. Obviously, right now, they’re just in lines. I want to change the season to fall. I want to make some kind of graveyard cuz, you know, spook spooky. And I’m definitely going to add a slime hutch, but I overall I really didn’t um come up with much. Oh, she’s leaving. Okay. Well, rude. Oh gosh. Okay. Well, Mr. Key is kind of spooky. Maybe that’s good luck. My stomach is in knots, but hopefully it’s not as bad as last time. I mean, last time it was like my first time ever filming with anybody and all of that. Oh, and another thing I want to do is change the color of all the buildings. We’re only like five minutes in. Look at this. Already a better start than attempt one. Oh, and I do think I might want to try some ponds and then change the colors of those to be kind of spooky. I feel like with although the theme is hard with the addition of a beach farm, it definitely has some benefits to know the goal. Okay, I was thinking we put this down here. And again, I feel like I should be more prepared than I’m not. See? Okay, guys. From video one, I had this whole freak out, existential crisis, if you will. The fact that when I moved to the greenhouse, the grass went away. Why does it only do that on the standard farm? In a normal playthrough, like or a normal type of decor style, I feel like the greenhouse is a really pretty addition. For spooky, it’s not giving what it needs to give. Oh, I was I’m thinking I want to put this down here. And we’ll make it all spooky. So, we have these two barns and two coups like fully done. And I don’t know where to put them. I also feel like this looks bad here. Perhaps I move it and then maybe put these around it. But put the spookier ones up front. Those ones look a little spookier than the ones with water, I guess. How’s that look? Yeah. Yeah, we’ll do that. What buildings can I make? We could do a well, which is like kind of spooky, scary, right? Um Oh, yes. The mills are kind of creepy. So, I want to get a well and I want to get a couple mills and fish ponds. Oh, and then we need to choose which cabin for melons. This is kind of like you have to do it. Okay. I can’t spend. I need to reel it in, choose one, and then move forward. I think we’ll do this one. And I wanted to put it right here. I do think I’m going to check in with melons now, though, and see how everything’s going. Knock knock. I literally just said I was going to check in with you right now. We’re just telepathic. Must be it. How’s it going? It’s going good. I think I’m definitely moving at a better pace than last time. I I feel the same. I mean, we could only go up. Honestly, so true. Okay, let’s start building these things now cuz I did not do anything while I was talking to her. Okay, I could put this right here. Maybe we do it like here. I mean, I might move it. Let’s not get too attached. Okay, editing B checking in. No, nothing was particularly wrong with the audio, but while I was watching it back myself, I was kind of just mumbling away. So, I thought I’d give you all a bit of a less jumbled breakdown of how the next 10 or so minutes went to get this all moving along. Surrounding the shed, I spent way too long placing fish ponds in hopes that I would be able to change the water to be a nice spooky color to fit the theme. Then, I moved around the slime hutch. I told you not to get too attached. Placed a well down because, you know, spooky. And a bunch of windmills because, again, spooky. And after recoloring all of the different buildings, it was time to leave Robins and head back to the farm. So, I’ll leave you with less concise past be now. Okay, bye. Oh, I got a slime egg sleigh. Okay, trash. Now, let’s see. But let’s see if these are the right tree seeds. Yeah. See, those are creepy. They look creepy. It’s perfect. Now, look. Creepy trees. It’s perfect. Okay. Should we try for the pumpkins? Oh, maybe I should have set up like specific spots because I don’t just want them like randomly spewed everywhere. But maybe I do. I didn’t even realize we passed another 15minute mark. Have we? Oh, the beach farm has got to be like the biggest farm. Here’s the thing. I feel like it’s going to be the same thing as last time. I’m going to go to your place and it’s going to be full of stuff and I’m going to be like, “Oh, okay. Well, no. I don’t think so. I have like a few little pieces that I’m proud of, but then after that, I have no idea. So, I wouldn’t say I’m proud of anything at this point. Well, if all else fails, grass, you know, every time we talk, I feel like I lose track of what I was doing. Not that I have like very concrete plans anyways, but Oh, I was planting pumpkins. Uh, maybe it’s more creepy that they’re not symmetrical with one another. I think that’s pretty spooky. Definitely scares me. So, let’s see what it all looks like. For now, I’m just going to leave it because we don’t have enough time to be worrying about this type of thing. I thought I got better at time management and nope, here I am still struggling. I haven’t even put the fish in the ponds. Also, why did I just search fish? Okay, wait. Let’s do this and this. And we’ll put these ones in. This feels right. We’ll just put it over top. Oh, greenhouse. Okay. Oh my gosh. Wait. Why? I need to put it there. No. Is this going to be another 10-minute saga of me trying to put a path there and it’s not going to let me? I feel like this looks okay. And I don’t have time to think otherwise. So, and I’m not going to make the same mistake of not having enough grass this time cuz clearly that was part of the winning strategy. But a lot of it is going to be these creepy trees, too. Now we’re just getting to that point again where I’m putting random stuff down. 17 minutes. Okay. I don’t know how many it has to have in the population for it to actually show the color. I’m really hoping only one because I don’t have time. Why does it feel like the last time went by a lot faster than I expected? Wow. It’s like the first challenge all over again. I thought I would have a redemption arc and I don’t think I’m going to because I have no time. I keep placing things wrong. Let’s put some grass around. Oh, picked something up randomly. 13 minutes left and it looks incomplete. Fencing is taking forever to put up. This is supposed to be my cemetery, but oh my gosh, I keep putting this in the wrong spot. I’m going to lose it. I’m going to lose it. And I still need to Hello. Hi. I have been panicking. Okay. How did it It just all It all went away so fast. I’m panic placing. That is all I’m doing currently. It’s so bad. Good luck in the next 5 minutes. You too. Okay, now I don’t even care if they’re the wrong tree. We’ve just got to get these down. Okay, this looks like it’s not supposed to look like this, which in some ways it’s not, but this is truly just panic building. Constant Oh no. That’s not supposed to be that color. Ah. Oh man. We’ve got like a huge blank spot over here. More trees. Oh my gosh. What is happening? This is like the kind of energy I needed throughout the entire thing so that um I actually got the stuff done that I needed done. I need to move that thing. No, my timer just went off. I’m um I’m building you a cabin really quick. Um, you can say no. Can we do an extra 15 minutes if you want to? We can. Yeah. Thank you. Okay, I started it. You guys, I know this is kind of cheating, but what if we stopped now and I didn’t even get a move thing and this is just randomly placed there. Okay, I need 15 minutes to deal with my issues as you look around and just see chaos everywhere. This is video one all over again. But I think it looks worse. Let’s zoom out for a second. Oh, that’s all I can zoom out. Okay, let’s go to sleep and see if they change colors because if not, that’s a real big bummer. Oh my gosh, they didn’t change colors. No, that ruins everything. I don’t want to hear about whatever I’m doing right now. I’m in a very fragile state. Okay. Okay, that looks so much worse than I thought it was going to. Why was this the theme for the beach farm? It’s just a mess. Like it’s truly such a mess. When Melon’s put grass all over her farm last time, it looked good. And when I do it, it looks like deranged. Editing B again. Basically, at this point, everything was just descending into chaos. If that wasn’t already obvious, I tried to place down some lanterns and pathing, some gravestones, and so on for all of the extra details. But yeah, you can see how well that went. Okay, back to me. The trees, I think, kind of make some of it look worse. They’re there to make it look less like horrible. And I think they just make it look worse, unfortunately. What the? There’s a mushroom. This isn’t the vibe. It’s not spooky scary. Not that any of this is. I need torches. I don’t know what I’m doing. Do I just put these around? Like, what? What even is that? It’s all just It’s all bad. 30 seconds. Quickly. Quickly. Okay, now that’s real time. I guess that’s where it ends. Well, since we tore mine first last time, you’re first this time. No. Okay, that’s fine. Okay, I’m in. Ooh. Uh, so this Okay, so this is my house. Cute. I love the dark purple. Here’s my pumpkins. Love it. I was trying to get a a bunch of uh giant ones. Yes, I love it. I love it. What’s scarier than a symmetry, right? Get out of here. Then up here we have the greenhouse. And we have a little slime hutch, which I didn’t really do anything with. Wait, that’s so cute. I love that you put it on the island. Then we have our graveyard. Love. And I really wanted to do void chickens cuz I thought that that would be good. But I ran out of time. So, no void. No, no chickens at all. And then we have the barns. Oh, cute. Also, no animals. The fish ponds were supposed to be like dark purples. I see the vision. Thanks. It’s cute. I like it. I like it. Picasso, that’s what we’re working. That’s what you’re up against. It’s not a lot. Okay. Okay. Woo. We’re here. So, this is um your house. Nice. If you come over here, this is my greenhouse. This is one of the statue things I was looking for. And then if you come down here, these are my fish ponds. Lovely. What’s in them? A mutant carp. Can you even get in there? Uh, nope. Not allowed. This is my pumpkin patch. Nice. Okay, so we had the exact same idea there. This is my little corn may bale maze or whatever. Wait, this is so cute. I was like, it will take up the most space. And then this is why I laughed cuz we both made graveyards. Nice. Why does yours have a a bunch of worms? Um cuz the worms are coming out of the ground. I don’t know. I thought it would be creepier. Um this is the animals. The first one. Are we locked out of that, too? Yep. Some chests. And this um shed was supposed to look like a giant pumpkin, but And then this is my obelisk cuz my clock. And then all my mushroom logs. Nice. Oh, is this locked out, too? Yes. And then this is this is my house. I like the coloring. And that’s that’s all. So, with our tours out of the way, it was time to turn it over to the people. Would it be my randomly scattered trees and mess everywhere farm? Or would it be melons locked up don’t come here farm? Yes, I just thought of those names on the spot. And I know my creativity is just off the charts. Well, with about 75% of the vote, somehow my farm won. So, in the end, I did get my revenge. I don’t know. It’s hard to say this was really much of a win with a farm like this, but a win is a win and I’ll take it. Until next time.
