Terraria, But Damaging Enemies UPGRADE My Reworked Spell Books…

In this video, I tried beating Terraria using spell books only. However, these aren’t just your typical spell books. I installed a mod that completely reworks them, changing how they attack. But that’s not all, because this mod also adds a couple of new ones as well. Oh, and one more thing. Damaging enemies grants my spell books experience that goes towards leveling them up, increasing their damage, critical strike chance, size, and best of all, the number of projectiles. What level will I be able to get my spell books to? And just how crazy will things become? Stay tuned because you’re about to find out. All right, let’s go grab my first spell book, the water bolt. And right away, some of you guys are probably thinking that it isn’t possible to get it anymore without defeating Skeletron. Well, that’s true. But because I think that starting off with a spell book is better than playing the game normally until I defeat Skeletron to get it, I installed a mod that allows the water bolt to spawn closer to the surface. Where exactly? I’m not really sure, and it’s not 100% that it spawns close on the surface. So, let’s head over to the dungeon to find that out. I also accidentally aggroed a bunch of acorn spirits. So, not sure if I’m going to make it. Okay, maybe right here once I get past this living witchery. Go, go, go. Block myself off and we’re good. Ooh, egg gllets. I’ll take that. Two more chests down here. Radar wand of sparking. Can’t use that. There should be one more chest down here. There it is. Looks like the dungeon is on the left side. Now, let’s pray that the water bolt is there. Let’s see. Oh, there it is. Wow, that is very close up on the surface. Give me that. Got keen on it. And now I can start killing some enemies. I do want to head back down the living witchery because I found two life crystals. Let’s grab those and then start gearing up. That’s one. Oh, wow. That is a lot of sapphire. Is it enough for the sapphire hook? Oh, no. Oh, wait. No, there’s one over there. Actually, I think that’s two over there. Never mind. Plenty more. That is enough for the sapphire hook. Let’s get this now. 140 health. And then I’m going to put down a workbench. Let’s make an anvil. And then make the sapphire hook as well as a better pickaxe to speed up mining. The tungsten pickaxe. All right, time to test out the water bolt. There we go. So, it’s a hold down. Okay. Wait, does it bounce off enemies as well? It’s kind of hard to test out cuz I don’t have much mana. Let’s try again. Yeah, it does. Wait, this is so much better compared to the original. Also, if you guys haven’t noticed, there’s this bar on top, and pretty much whenever it fills up, I gain two health. I tried finding ways to disable it, but it just wasn’t possible. So, yeah, there’s another life crystal and a gold chest. Let’s check it out. Oh, yes, Hermes boots. I got that so early on in the game. That’s going to save me a lot of time. Oh, and let’s not forget to check out the amount of experience I gain per hit with the water bolt. So, it already has 195, so I’m guessing it’s five per hit. Let’s see. I’m dead. Okay, you guys saw nothing. Anyways, I think that was one hit. So, yeah, 200 points of experience. It is night time right now. a good time to grab as many fallen stars as possible to raise up my max mana. And now that I have Hermes boots, I can probably max it out within just one night. Okay, and that is the end of the night. So, I managed to find 33 fallen stars, which I think is not enough. Let’s see. Made six. So, I need three more mana crystals. But that is okay because now I can consistently attack. My inventory is full. So before I do anything else, let’s store them away. Oh, nice. Got the natural acorns. Increases mana by 40. Okay, inventory has been cleaned out. Let’s now build some NPC houses. Five should be good. And what I’m going to do now is head into the jungle to find some more life crystals and accessories. Also to farm some materials there to craft the jungle armor. Found the band of regeneration. Oh, nice. Found a gravitation potion. That’s 200 health. Okay, found another one. I think my water bolt has leveled up by now. So, let’s see. Oh yeah, level one. So, I think it gained two magic damage from 30 to 32. And now it has 9% critical strike chance from 7%. Attack-wise, I don’t think anything I stand corrected. Never mind. Oh, there’s a chance to shoot out two water bolts now. What’s in here? Anklet of the wind. Beautiful. That means I’ll be able to make lightning boots later. Holy crap, that is a lot of diamonds. 14 again. Same with the sapphire. I did not mean to do that. No, blueberry, what were you going to show me? God damn it. Well, back down I go. And we’re back. Okay, I think the blue fairy ended here. Oh, okay. It was going to show me a gold chest with the magic mirror. Found the suspicious looking eye. Oh, and just what I was looking for, the nature’s gift. And some more diamonds. Let’s go. I’m going to upgrade to the diamond hook whenever I can. Ooh, found the shimmer pool. Haven’t seen one of these in a long time. Not sure if I’ll be using it though. I just need a few more jungle spores before I head back up. Okay, that should be enough. Let me just go grab this nature’s gift. See if this has a better modifier. Jagged. Oh, same thing. Never mind. Oh, one sec. This pink fairy is showing me some treasure. What do we have in here? Another magic mirror. There’s an anvil right here, so I might as well make the diamond hook. Oh, and I can make my armor here, too. Let’s see. Jungle hat, shirt, and pants. Beautiful. 260 mana with 19 defense. Now, my water bolt has 37 damage. Oh, it’s also at level two and only uses seven mana from nine. It’s almost at level three. So, let’s just attack a few more monsters. That should do it. Level three. Let’s take a look at the attacks now. Oh yeah, it looks way more consistent at shooting out two projectiles at the same time now. Okay, time to head back up. Inventory has been sorted out once again. Now, let’s build an arena because night is coming and I will be taking on the eye of Cthulhu. That should be good. Let’s purchase some lesser mana potions in case I run out of mana. And I should be good to go. Let’s start it up. Here it comes. Start firing away. Oh my god. Oh my. 1,000 damage per second. That thing didn’t even get a chance to attack me in second phase. Let’s take a look at the water bolt now. Surely that gained a bunch of experience. Oo, level five with 44 damage and 29 critical strike chance. Now the attacks look like this. Ooh, okay. Is that shooting four? It might be three. Let’s take a look again. Okay, that’s two. That was three. Yeah, it is consistently shooting out two. Rarely shoots out one, and sometimes shoots out three. Let’s go collect the remaining fallen stars to max out my mana. Okay, that should be enough fallen stars. There we go. I now have 320 mana. I’m now going to drink a gravitation potion to find Sky Islands for some more accessories. There’s the lucky horseshoe and the shiny red balloon. Next up, let’s go take on the brain of Cthulhu. Let’s build an arena first. A two-layered platform should be good enough. And now, let’s go break the Crimson Hearts. This boss fight is probably not going to take very long because of how enclosed it is. My projectiles can just bounce off the walls and deal extra damage. Okay, last one. Here we go. Get up. Thumb to me. Oh yeah. Look at that. Already second phase and dead. The water bolt is now at level six. With a bunch of crimine bars and tissue samples, I’m going to make the deathbringer pickaxe and then head over to the dungeon to take on Skeltron. All right, arena has been completed. Let’s talk to the old man to summon the boss. 3 2 1 Here we go. Hands first, of course. Ow. Big damage. Okay, I’m out of mana. Ooh, close, close, close. Too close. Oh no. Okay, I have to jump out. Get back up. Heal. Full on mana again. One hand down. That’s two. And just ahead. That hit me. Okay, recharge and kill it. And there we go. Got my next spell book, the book of skulls. Honestly, I don’t think it’ll be better than the water bolts, but I’ll use it for a bit. So, it shoots out skulls that dashes and homes in onto enemies. Also inflicts the onfire debuff. Okay, now that I have access into the dungeon, let’s go find myself the cobalt shield and shadow key. Okay, first chest, Mammasa. Don’t need that. Second one, shadow key. Third one. Another shadow key. And there’s the cobalt shield. Let’s head back. All right, it is almost time to take on the wall of flesh, but not quite yet. I’m going to go to the right side of the world to farm some goblin scouts for tatterloth so that I can summon the goblin army. After I defeat the army, then I’m going to go search for the goblin tinkerer, combine my accessories together, and then I will be ready. All right, this should be the last one. There we go. Got enough tighter cloths. Now, let’s make the sawmill and then the loom. And finally, let’s summon the goblin army. Let’s keep track of the amount of experience gained for the book of skulls. So, right now it’s at level one with 265. We’ll see what it becomes by the end of it. Oh my. What is that? Shadow of Flame Book. Hold up. 23 magic damage, 16% critical strike chance. Let’s test this out. Oh, what? Another one. It feels okay to use. It’s not very strong. It does home in though. Okay, goblin army has been defeated. And I’m dead. Yeah, I don’t know how I feel about this. I guess I’ll hold on to it for now. But let’s check out the book of skulls. So from level one to level two. Almost level three. Anything change? Yeah. Shoots out two skulls at a time now. although it’s very inconsistent. Well, now that the goblin army has been defeated, let’s mine down towards hell and also look for the goblin tinkerer. Actually, before I do that, I want to level up the book of skulls some more and also the shadowflame book. So, I’m going to summon the eye of Cthulhu. Let’s level up the shadow flame book first. It does use very little mana, so that’s why I kind of want to upgrade it so I can keep on spamming without worrying of running out of [Music] mana. Okay, starting to shoot out two at a time now. All done. Okay, so just from one eye of Cthulhu, the shadow flame book is now at Oh, wow. Level four. I did not expect it to gain so many. What the heck? Okay. Let’s see the attacks now. Whoa, it can shoot out three to four projectiles now. Wait, this is going to be a crazy weapon if I level it up somewhere. Let’s level up the Book of Skulls now. There we go. It is now at level four as well. So, it can now shoot out two at a time. Oh, was that three? Oh, yeah. There we go. Three. I think if I don’t want to worry about running out of mana, then I’m going to use the shadow flame book cuz it only uses two. While the book of skulls does more damage, but it uses 13 mana. I think the shadow flame book is the winner here to be honest. Okay, now let’s continue to mine down to hell and find ow the goblin tinkerer. Okay, that is max health. Finally made it down to hell. I have yet to find the goblin tinkerer. But before I do that, let’s go mine some hell stone. I’ll only need enough for the molten pickaxe. All right, I am good on hell stone. I do need some obsidian though. So, let’s mine that. There we go. Good on obsidian. And now I can make the molten pickaxe. Okay, back to finding the goblin tinkerer. And slime is falling from the sky. Another interruption. Okay, well, I think I’m going to go take care of that first since that’s going to give me quite a bit of experience. Oh, here comes the king slime. Time to take it down. Here we go. Okay, all done. Let’s clear out the rest. Okay, let’s check out the level on my Shadow Flame book. So, it was level four. Now it is level six. So the attacks look like this. That’s a lot of projectiles. Okay. And once again, back to trying to find the goblin tinkerer. Come on. Oh my god, there he is. Finally. Okay, I can now buy rocket boots and the workshop. I’m also going to reforge this book. Let’s try to get mythical on. It doesn’t cost too much. Okay, I’m beginning to think that maybe it’s not possible. Oh god. Okay, you know what? I’m taking godly. Screw it. Let’s start combining some of my accessories together now. So, first up, lightning boots, the obsidian shield, and then let’s make a mana potion for the mana flower. Now, for this mod, there are actually two new bosses I can take on right now. The lifeguardian and the star guardian. So, let’s make them both. And let’s do the star guardian first. Should be pretty quick. Yeah, it’s only got 1,000 health. And just like that, all done. Now, I believe that was just like the trial run. So, if I summon it again, it will be the real thing. Yeah, now it has 2,000 health. Here we go. All done. Easy peasy. I believe I can keep on taking it on and it’ll keep getting stronger. So, you know what? Let’s keep doing that. Ooh, 3,600 health now. Still shouldn’t be a problem. It’s already dead. And now I get the loot. Beautiful. Menacing Star Guardians blessing. Every once in a while, a magic circle will be generated to protect you. Meta cap increased by 40. Well, that’s the star guardian done. Now it’s time for the life [Music] guardian. And once again, it’s same thing. Trial run first. [Music] Okay, second one. And the third [Music] one. Ooh, there’s the magic shield. There we go. And there’s the treasure bag. Lifeguardians blessing summons life servants to protect you. Moderately increases life regen after being hit and increases max life by 25. I guess I can use this instead of the mana flower for now cuz this only uses two mana. And now it is finally time to take on the wall of flesh. Oh, also let’s check out the shadowflame book. Holy crap. Level 9 with 46 magic damage and 43% critical strike chance. All right, made it to the end of the world. Ooh, and those must be the life servants. Okay, let’s drop in the voodoo doll to summon the wall of flesh. 3 2 1 Here we go. This has a lot of health, too. So, my shadow flame book, I’m going to guess, is going to become level 12 by the end of this. We’re dealing a solid 500 damage per second. Oh, never mind. What am I talking about? 1,000. Oh my god. There we go. I am now in hard mode. Let’s see if my predictions were right. Is it level 12? Okay, close. Level 11. It now has 59 damage and 47% critical strike chance. Let’s see if I can get the sorcerer’s emblem from this treasure bag. No, I cannot. But that is fine because I found the shimmer pool. So, I can just throw this in to get it. Actually, you know what? I probably don’t need it at the moment. I’m already dealing so much damage, so I’d rather just use the maniflower. Let’s go break some crimson altars now to spawn in the hard modes. We’ve got palladium, mithril, and adabantites. That’s enough palladium onto the Myithil. That’s enough Myithil. And lastly, let’s go mine the adamantite. And that is enough adamment. With the adamantite bars, I’m going to make the adamantite armor set. There we go. Now, it is time to get my hands on the next spell book, which is going to be the golden shower. So, I’m going to need a spell tomb, 20 Ire, and 15 souls of night. Oh, found the bound wizard. Let’s purchase the crystal ball, a couple of spell tombs, and some greater mana potions. Okay, got enough souls of knights and let’s go grab a bookcase in hell. Okay, got one. And now I can make the golden shower. Let’s see what has changed first. Okay. Oh, wait. It just stays there. And then when I use it again, it disappears. Let’s take a better look by using this dummy. There we go. Let’s start firing away. And then let go. Oh. Oh. Okay. So, it hovers over enemies and then it just shoots out homing golden showers. Okay, the next spell book that I want to check out is the Crystal Storm. So, let’s head back underground to farm for some Crystal Shards and Souls of Light. Ooh, let’s grab this gelatin crystal so that I can take on the Queen Slime. Got enough crystal shards. And that is enough Souls of Light. Crystal Storm made. Let’s get this thing reforged first. Okay, masterful. Let’s check out what has changed with this spell book. Oh. Ooh, so it shoots out larger crystal shards that travel way further. Oh, damn. Okay. It doesn’t have a lot of magic damage, but that’s to be expected because of its fast fire rate. To level up this crystal storm, I’m going to head to the hollowed biome to take on the queen slime. Actually, that’s a bad idea. I don’t have wings just yet. So, let’s get those first. Okay, that should be enough souls of flight. There we go. Oh my god, what the heck is happening to my screen? That’s a lot of crystals. Okay, got enough souls of knight and now I can make demon wings. Okay, let’s go take on the queen slime now. Here we go. 3 2 [Music] 1 on the left. Oh, that’s some big that’s some big damage. 2k DPS second phase. Oh, okay. All done. Oh my god. Wait, what level is this thing? Level 11. What? I mean, I guess that would make sense because of how fast it attacks. This thing gained like six, seven levels. Nice. Got the gelatinous pillion. And now I’m all set to take on the mechanical bosses. So, let’s wait until nighttime to do that. All right, the next night has arrived. However, I’m not going to take on the mechanical bosses just yet. I found out that I can get my hands on another spell book by using the starhe heart stone which requires the suspicious looking mana stone and the suspicious looking life along with 25 souls of light and knight. So let’s do that first. Here we go. Mana guardian and lifeguardian has awoken. Let’s see what happens. Let me guess. Are they going to merge together? All right, here we go. Nope, they did not merge [Music] together. Oh, wow. They surprisingly have a lot of [Music] health. Okay, I think I attacked the lifeguardian now. Yep. Holy crap. What was that damage? Okay. What was this? Okay. Now they can both be [Music] hit. All right. Now what? Oh, is that it? Here we go. Give me the loot. There we go. Now, hopefully I’ll be able to get the spell book in this treasure bag. Oh my god, there it is. Mythical the sky original. 87 damage. Let’s see what it looks like. Okay, that’s pretty sick. Let’s use it against this dummy. Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no. Once I get this thing upgraded, it’s over. Okay, there’s still a bit of time left in the night, so I will be taking on the twins first. Here we go. Let’s use the sky original. Oh, I love how it just homes in. Doesn’t really use up a lot of mana, too, which is good. Okay, both second phase and done. So just from the twins. This is now at level eight. Holy crap. Okay, next up the destroyer. Go, go, go. Okay, sorry NPCs. Kind of killed you all there. 15,000 damage per second. And dead. That boss had a lot of health, which means it probably gave me the most experience. So, oh, level 9. Never mind. But wow, this thing already has 111 magic damage, 55% crit chance. All right, let’s speed run Skeleletron Prime. Here we go. God damn. All done. level 12 with some hollowed bars. I’m going to craft the pickaxe as well as the hollowed armor set. Let’s make our way into the jungle now to search for the planter bulb. Oh, there’s the planter bulb right there. That didn’t take too long to find. So, let’s start building the arena. I think I’ll just use this granite area over here for the arena. That way, I don’t have to start from scratch. Okay. Honestly, this should be good enough. I think for this boss fight, I’m going to use the golden shower. I know it’s not good at the moment, but potentially it could be if I just level it up some more. If things do go south, then I’ll just switch back to the sky original. Here we go. Coming from the top. Okay, Planterus pedals has changed a little bit. Looks like they’re now able to curve. That shouldn’t cause any problems, though. Okay, what happens if I just let go? That might be a little better. And then I can just focus on flying around in circles, dodging the attacks. Okay, it wore off again. Okay, shooting out three golden showers now. Let go. Wait, what? Where’d it go? Let go. Huh? Okay. I’m not sure where it went. Second phase now. Oh, shoot. Heal up. This should be strong enough to take it down. Yep. Few more hits and done. Yeah, it’s not bad once it’s been leveled up. Level 11. Now, let’s use the temple key to enter the temple to take on Golem. All right, made it into the boss room. Let’s clear out the traps first. Okay, that should be everything now. Let’s start it up. Let’s use the golden shower for a bit. Okay, switch it up to the sky original. Yo, that damage is crazy. Okay, let’s try out the crystal storm against it. Oh, summon it. Huh? 40,000 damage per second. Level 18. Look at that. Oh, I’m literally lagging. 55,000. Yeah, my frames are dropping. And then lastly, let’s take it down one more time with the shadow flame. It definitely will not be as fast as any of the other three books, but hey, it has its own beauty. All done. Level 15. Now I am now going to go catch myself some truffle worms to be able to summon Duke Fishron. The only weapon that I’m looking for from that boss is the Razer Blade Typhoon. Looks like pirates are invading. So another great opportunity for some more experience. Okay, got Oh no. Come back. Wait, what? Oh, I think I killed it. Okay, anyways, got one. Let’s go take care of the pirates first and then I will take on Duke Visron. Yeah, this crystal storm is just insane. These pirates can’t even touch me. Down goes the Flying Dutchman. And again. And again. There we go. Pirates have been defeated. So, the Crystal Storm is now at level 20. Let’s head to the ocean now to summon Duke Fishron. I’m going to make a prediction that this fight will only take less than 20 seconds starting now. Yeah, for sure. Oh, all done. Give me that treasure bag and Razor Blade Typhoon. Yes. Base damage, 111 magic damage, 29% critical strike chance. Let’s see what this does first. Oh, first shot summons out five. Yeah, looks like five Razor Blade Typhoons. And then afterwards, it just shoots out one. Also summons out these bubbles. Not sure if they do anything. Oh, they do. Never mind. They home in onto enemies and deal damage. Okay, to level this bad boy up, I’m going to take on the lifeguardian and mana guardian again. There we go. Ooh, big damage. Okay, it’s ready. Shooting out multiple projectiles and shoot again. Oh my god. Wait. New personal best. Level 10 already. Let’s check it out now. What the How many razor blade typhoons was that? Let’s get this weapon reforged. Okay, first one mythical. God damn. With this, let’s go take on the lunatic cultist. Okay, let’s start it up. 3 2 1 Huh. Not as much damage as I thought it would do, but still fast regardless. It’s now time to destroy the four celestial pillars. Down goes the nebula. There goes the solar. Stardust pillar has been destroyed. One more to go. And down goes the last pillar. Time for Moon Lord. So, from all those four pillars, level 17 for the Razer Blade Typhoon and 23 for the Crystal Storm. Here we go. Razor Blade Typhoon first. Okay, both hands are down. Solid 9,000 damage per second. There goes the forehead. And oh, heal up. Was not watching my health. And the core is done. Let’s see if I can get the Lunar Flare spell book. Not this time. That’s okay. Let’s take on Moon Lord again. [Music] This time I’ll be using the Crystal Storm. There we go. This is just way better. Okay, hands down. That one too. There goes the forehead eye. And We’re done. Yeah, Crystal Storm is definitely way stronger. Perhaps Lunar Flare this time. Uh, no. Well, looks like we’re doing it again, but for this time, I’ll be using the Sky original. Here we go. Oh. Wait, this is really strong. Stronger than the Crystal Storm. Yeah, that was way faster. Holy crap. And no lunar flare again. Very unfortunate. Let’s keep on going until I get it. Jesus, I literally just stood still and not this time again. What is going on? Looks like I’ll be able to summon it one more time. [Music] If I don’t get it this time, I’m going to have to do the entire thing again. Okay. Please, please, please, please, please. Yes. There we go. Let’s check this spell book out. I think it’s the same. functions the same. Let’s get it reforged. There we go. Mythical. And you know what? I’m going to do the entire thing again so I can take on Moon Lord one more time with this spell book. Here we go. Oh my. Oh my. I stand corrected. This is not the same. Oh, I’m dead. These projectiles actually home in. It’s only at level six, too. Okay. Stardust down. Vortex down. Nebula down. Before I destroy the last pillar, I’m going to craft myself the full set of Nebula armor. All right, I am now juiced up and ready to go. And down goes the last pillar. Luna Flare is at level 9 with 189 magic damage and 52% crit chance. Here we go. And attack. Holy crap. Oh, it’s so laggy. My frames are dropping. Oh, everything’s slow motion. I literally saw 67,000 damage per second. You know what? Let’s go again. Now I got to use this thing when it’s at level 16. Oh my. It spawned. It died. All right, that’s going to be it, guys.
