so I was building in Minecraft the other day and I got stuck because I needed to place blocks out of my reach and I thought “Huh I really wish there was a way to build further than usual in Minecraft.” And then it hit me we sacrificed that in favor of an armadillo plonkers the crab in the 2023 mob vote would have been added alongside the crab claw item now we didn’t really know how it would work but we were promised it would increase block range now if we had to load blocks into the claw to use the increased range then I’m glad we went with the armadillo cuz that would be useless but if you just held it in your offh hand and it increased your block placement by even two blocks that would have been amazing but we’ll never know because it never got added

If the crab gave u reach in pvp it would revolutinize pvp in a bad way pvp would change alot skilled pvpers wouldn't be skilled pvpers thats why Mojang updated the game every year so we can get used to the changes if they added the crab I don't think we would get used to it before the end of the year.

If the crab won the way you want it to work would happen because you can put I think everything in the offhand slot in Java but for bedrock it would be a melee weapon with a larger range or the extra range would just come from the crab claw being in the hotbar

You can tecnicly try It in vanilla Minecraft example: /give @p stick[attribute_modifiers=[{id:"block_interaction_range",type:"block_interaction_range",amount:3,operation:"add_value",slot:"offhand"}],max_stack_size=1] 1
If you keep It in offhand It Will give you +3 block interaction range, the distance you can Place/break/interact with blocks

That's one of the things that's better on bedrock, on bedrock reach is a few blocks higher (on phone I don't know how it is on pc, pc bedrock is shit but on phone it's really good)
