Which Terraria Class Is Actually The Best? #terraria

terraria has four main classes: melee ranged mage and summoner but which one is actually the best in terms of viability here’s my ranking at fourth place I have mage while this is my favorite class in the game I can’t lie and say that it’s the most useful it’s very weak at the start of the game and there isn’t a single point where it’s the best not bad but not great either next up we’ve got summoner people need to adapt to the times this is not the worst class anymore it might be the hardest to use effectively however you can deal insane damage if you use summoner the right way it also pairs with every other class very well then we’ve got ranged sort of boring but also consistent it’s good from the beginning to the end never overpowered but never underpowered and then of course the best class in the game is melee amazing options at every stage of the game for weapons and the best defensive armor in the game it’s like playing the game on easy

Which Terraria class is actually the best? Here’s my ranking.

  1. Coming from someone who just beat zenith master mode after a year (legendary), mage has some of the best crowd control and dps, as well as the most versatile kit. Yeah it may not be the most optimal at times, but there are so many unique weapons it definitely becomes the least repetitive and most enjoyable class in my opinion. It definitely has some of the strongest kit in the game and the varied play styles for the class mean any boss can have an effective way to beat it. Limiting the weapons you use harshly punishes this class which may be why some people don’t like it, but pairing weapons together is what makes this class so strong.

  2. Mage sucks early game – agreed
It's the worst class because of that and the fact that it isn't the best at any point – yeah sure
It's bad – no. While it may be the least good on average, Spectre Armor is insanely op.

  3. techno mage is the best in the beginning of hardmode.

    Here is the strat:

Make a auto duke farm and get razor. Proceed to kill everything with razor while being completely unskilled at the game. I call this technomage because we use teleporters for afk duke farm

  4. from my experience mage is amazing havent played since 1.4 came out though but i do see in singleplayer when someone isnt taking aggro where mage stuggles mages are squishy but do heavy damage if used correctly

  5. I usually play melee, just for the tanking. If you get a melee and post plantera mage, you are kinda unstoppable. At least it was like this with my playthrough with a friend (who has never played Terraria before). I was literally shield stacking. I had Pladin Shield, Hero Shield and the Frozen shield. I just face tanked golem while my friend healed me. Post golem was even crazier. Then I just stacked defense, regen and damage reduction (even made a new world with corruption). It totaled out to 180+ defense and I could tank moonlord. Not the entire fight, but two solid minutes. I wish I knew what moonlord must have been thinking, seeing someone who just tanked three deathrays while being absolutely obliterated by my now summoner friend with eleven Terraprisms. I also had three, meaning he was just getting shredded.

  6. Mage is the weakest mostly because everyone else is stepping on their toes and the Mana system. Honestly, I'd like a post-game accessory that uses MP as shield, an accessory that reduces mp cost to 0, and a combination of both. This will make it the stronger than ranged and summoner post-game but ONLY post-game without buffing their damage directly
