Why Terraria’s Golem Is So Hated. #terraria
why does everybody hate Gollum in Terraria this boss has been a laughingtock in the community ever since its introduction to the game for a couple reasons first of all the arena if you don’t use any glitches you’re forced into whatever arena the jungle temple happens to give you sometimes this is fine and you’ll get a massive arena with plenty of space other times though you’ll get an absurdly small arena making the fight with Gollum very irritating however I think the real reason Gollum is such a joke is a lot simpler he’s way too easy by the time you defeat Planter you already have access to incredible gear especially from the dungeon and what does all of that gear get used on first gollum thing is though Gollum is a very simple boss fight he doesn’t have that much health his attacks are super predictable and he doesn’t even do a lot of damage and that’s why he’s such a
Why is Golem so hated in Terraria? Let’s talk about it.

I really don't mind golem, it's fun to spawn him a bunch and shred him to get whatever drop you're looking for, the expert mode new attacks are plenty
Kinda like how the destroyer isn't that bad or at least able to be defeated reasonably with strategy
I’m so used to legendary mode Golem, I completely forgot how slow he is.
he mauls in 3ds
He’s boring
That’s my only reason
he a bum
okay assuming most people play expert or master why would you want him to be extra hard in that tiny arena? It's easy because it's balanced.
Single player Golem: Super push over
10+ Multiplayer server: OMG WHAT HAVE DONE!!
reddit terraria players love to say golem is easy and call you bad at the game if you disagree, until they get an absolutely minuscule arena where the head zone and body jump zone overlap so you have no safe zone and no-hitting becomes a pain
(it's probably still easy if you're not trying to no-hit, but thats not how i play)
What are we talking about? Who hates Golem? I love that dude (not because of the fight)
Edit: Turns out I'm incorrect about dungeon enemies updating after Golem, but it actually makes it worse because they might get stuck killing a bunch of the new enemies before realizing they've wasted their time, resulting in more confusion.
He honestly feels shoehorned in. Hell, t
you could argue that everything post-Plantera feels a bit shoehorned in, but Golem is by far the worst offender. When you beat Plantera, a line of text appears in chat, saying "screams echo from the dungeon". The issue is that this is somewhat misleading; the game tells you to go to the dungeon, but unless you haven't beaten Skeletron yet for whatever reason, you won't find anything there – the dungeon enemies will update, but that doesn't mean much when you're trying to make progress, even if the items you can get are helpful. Where you're SUPPOSED to go is the jungle temple, and only AFTER beating Golem do you need to go to the dungeon. Thankfully Plantera drops the key for the jungle temple, but even then you're getting mixed messages from the game, because one thing says jungle temple while another says dungeon.
And you can't just say "oh, they'll probably know that's not what it means", because anybody who's ever tried going into the dungeon without beating Skeletron first will know firsthand that it's protected by the dungeon guardians. And your death message will TELL you that it's called the dungeon guardian, meaning you'll quickly figure out "oh, that's called a dungeon guardian, that means this place must be a dungeon".
So when they get an item for one place but get told to go somewhere else, they'll need to make a choice, and if they choose wrong they'll be left VERY confused. "Why is there nothing here", "what does this key go to", "where am I supposed to go", "did I do something wrong", all those questions and more might race through somebody's head who doesn't already know the right answer.
His lasers and ricochet flame balls do a lot of damage over time. With a small golem arena you can have multiple ricochet balls bounce around doing enough damage to take you out easily. Some arenas can be so small you can only focus 1 arm and if you break his head off with 1 arm alive he gets dramatically harder to kill even with turtle armor.
I defeated plantera and like 20 mins later i beat golem with no potions
I think its more of a lore boss than a gameplay boss
I hate when as a mage I get chased by golem's detached body and die off
Fighting him as a mage in master mode can be annoying asf sometimes
My most recent play through of modded I lost to golem because the arena was absolutely garbage, it was like 20 blocks tall and golem could jump to the ceiling
If you have a small arena here what you can do.
build a room outside the temple right beside the golem's arena put a bed to set your spawn and build a arena there then when you summon golem Recall to the room you build to go on the arena and golem will follow you because somehow he can phases through walls
i don't really care about difficulty, his fight just isn't fun. you just stay above him the entire time while his fat ass takes up the entire bottom section of the arena, and you barely get to dodge anything because his projectiles are completely undodgeable half the time.
he's the terraria boss equivalent of youtube kids slop, he feels like he was engineered in a lab to make the player turn their brain off while fighting him.
Golem with a bad arena can actually be kinda challenging atleast in master mode
The jungle temple as a whole is a joke. You literally just run through it, kill the “boss” and never come back lol.
I'm either struggling or I annihilate him
The arena could be fixed to where they can do special c generations that guarantees a much bigger perfectly square exact arena for every world
Eternity mode golem is pretty fun
He scared tf outa me first playthrough
on mobile before the parity update i couldnt defeat him because of his eye lasers but now hes too easy
me and my friend accidentally beat him when he was trying to set up an arena
i'd say hes pretty easy
That’s why I like the random arenas because he’s so easy like 90% of the time that if you get a small arena he could actually be a bit of a challenge but with a big arena he’s cooked
idk but when i fought golem with my friend on expert i think, the golem was way harder and does much more damage than described
Try Golem in Infernum You will change your mind
after trying infernum calamity i havent touched vanilla terraria ever again
I know you need to get lucky, but I got vampire knifes straight after plantera, and sat in the same spot. Not. 1. Potion.
first of all, the picture showing the ass arena is before 1.2/3, they changed how arenas generate making them way more spacious every time.
call me a noob but ive died like 16 times to golem expert mode and yet to beat him in expert because of eyebeams doing over 100 damage to me in 1 hit
Me, who's so used to calamity expert golem: why is he so slow?
My first fight with golem was a proper challenge, I think most new players would feel the same
I've seen a video proposing an additional golem bossfight after initial golem, maybe that's a good idea for player seeking a harder challenge
Infernum make me over prepared for all boss
