Palworld: Legendary Weapons DPS Test | Tides of Terraria
all right time to complete the weapon DPS test with these new endgame weapons the overheat rifle the energy shotgun and the charge rifle and then I’m also adding these three weapons the regular Meowir the meteor launcher legendary which is from the arena on your first clear and then the legendary Mow Meow Mir which drops from Moonlord so starting off we have the overheat rifle now this one has a pretty funky mechanic where if you hold it overheats and you need to reload and do a little reload animation which greatly slows down DPS or I mean it slows it down but then you can also just sort of shoot for a while and then start tapping and then when you’re tapping it doesn’t overheat you can just keep on tapping forever that will also be a better DPS effect even if it’s shooting slower so you have like a good burst DPS and then you have a sustained shooting DPS then we have the energy shotgun works like all the other shotguns really there’s nothing super special here it’s just the effect where you click too fast it’s going to shoot slower so if you’re like spam clicking you get this sort of slow down effect so you kind of need to work on timing it right so you can shoot fast um so the DPS test here is with like the optimal clicking but as soon as you kind of probably in combat you’re not going to be clicking perfect with practice then it’s going to be a little bit worse um and the DPS for all these tests also includes the reload time so this shotgun does have good burst damage until you need to reload it pretty nice then we have the charge rifle the charge rifle can be a little bit uh tricky to use just because you’re kind of like aiming down sight i mean you could just do it while strafing and stuff without but you probably want to aim down sight and then uh you get have to move slowly so it’s a little bit awkward but it’s a pretty decent kind of sniper rifle weapon then we move on to these other weapons let’s take that one there so we have Meoware legendary Meowir so Meowir regular weapon was added all the way back in December i think it’s just pretty slow but the cats kind of bounce around and I did a test versus some tower bosses and it seems to be around three hits on average with both the Meow Mirrors so this one the legendary Meow is just faster so it depends a little bit most of the time you’re going to get three hits then sometimes they will bounce back and hit another time but sometimes you only get one hit so around three hits on average per swing the legendary one just gets a little bit more power while the normal one uh has 200 and then it also hits a lot faster the only downside really is the sound but overall the DPS isn’t really that great for them either one of them they just like some fun gimmicky weapons now we have the meteor launcher which is pretty cool as well the splash seems to be it’s it’s pretty much like the rocket launcher I would say uh I feel like they have like the same animation and then we have two different DPS’s here as well because we have this like shooting normally and reloading just like that nice and slow waiting for the animation then we also have the swap thing you can do where as soon as you see the ammo count when it jumps to one here you just swap and swap back it’s what I do with the multi-guided it’s what I do with the rocket launcher you can also do it what like all the weapons but some of them are just the gain is so marginal that I feel the risk of messing up swapping leads to lower DPS than just shooting it regularly so let’s take a look at these damage numbers okay so just tapping the overheat rifle seems to be by far the highest DPS so you probably want to use the overheat rifle uh just tapping on that along with the terrapisma as your secondary weapon that seems to be like the peak peak DPS right now uh then we have the charge rifle but as mentioned it’s a little bit like if a boss is targeting you you’re not going to get all those perfect shots off then the shotgun is actually very decent because you can sort of time the reload whenever you want so you shoot a bunch and then when the boss is targeting you that’s when you time your reloads becomes pretty neat h then just holding the overheat rifle so overall the overheat rifle a lot of burst if you’re just shooting and then letting it cool down same thing as the energy shotgun really you shoot while the boss is not targeting you then when you need to dodge or something uh you let it cool down the rocket launcher thing uh they seem to be very equal like the the new meteor launcher legendary and the rocket launcher legendary um the rocket launcher is just a little bit stronger like it has more power uh but the meteor launcher is pretty easy to get the legendary off so that’s a great starting point and then we have the Meow Mirrors which they they were not that good um they do have some uses for like clearing a lot of enemies with the bounce and stuff like that they’re decent for some stuff but they’re mostly there as like these little fun swords really they’re not super useful so overall uh just looking at pure DPS you probably want to be running that uh overheat rifle we got these but then the negative side is if we take a little bit of a look at the ammo costs you’re going to see that you need a lot of coralum for these weapons even if the overheat rifle is very strong in terms of DPS it’s extremely expensive in terms of coralore um so I’ll put the numbers here like how much power you’re getting per coralum and you will see that it’s almost like a tenth of what the charge rifle is giving you and quite a bit worse as well compared to the shotgun so you are going to be eating through your coral and luckily the arena does not use any sort of ammo so there’s no issues using it there it’s more for like farming bosses and stuff like that you’re going to have to go out and farm a lot of ore to use this weapon so still using the multi-guided is very budget friendly in the overworld and I’m still using the rocket launcher for a lot of stuff like clearing those Surroima bases and stuff like that which is uh one thing worth mentioning here is that I got both the overheat rifle and the energy shotgun from the new treasure maps the legendary treasure maps from the base raiding i did not buy these from the arena i got them just while actually breeding my arena teams and then lastly one thing as well that I’m not sure if I mentioned you will see the hallowed hood has this hallowed power summon right there in the bottom by the weight uh that’s a 20% buff to the terror prisma so these different helmets they buff the different weapons and it’s not like like let’s compare the stats here you got 455 defense it’s not a huge defense loss if you’re up there in like the thousands of defense h giving the terrapisma 20% more damage is probably worth it and that bonus has nothing to do with the tier of the hood you can use the green hood whichever one you you have there’s no added benefit to the buff it’s always 20% and I believe that that buff also scales with head shot so the terrorisma does some random head shot is probably closer to 25 or even 30 depending on percent bonus depending on what your boss you’re fighting so you could potentially just add this percentage to the terrisma uh DPS chart so these all these DPS numbers are without the buff helmets so you could add that to any one of these Terraria weapons from the new Terraria dungeon so that’s it for this DPS test enjoy the overheat rifle in the terisma and the arena I guess and then we have some other weapons for the budget friendly enjoyers good luck

What about legendary terraprisma with the hallowed helmet damage buff?
Meowmere and terra blade also has true melee damage, when the sword itself makes contact with the target
Meowmere’s sound is a bonus, not a downside :3
I still dont understand why the heat gun needs ammo when in the discription it says it dont need ammo😂. Would be nice if it had that overheat effect and so you realy need to control the heat.
Thanks Prof.
Just got the overheat grinding the arena man was it worth it
So it sounds like Terraprisma is the clear winner. It chews through durability (if you don't change the setting), however it only costs midgame materials to fix, while the rest of them require a lot more input. I'm not keen on running laps on my breeding base to make enough Coralum to support a 37% increase in DPS. especially now that we can buy the missile ammo at the caravan trader and don't even have to worry about Quartz or Pal Oil anymore.
don't sleep on the meowmere. It is completely free to use, has 20k durability and can be repaired for free. If you want budget friendly clears it's a great option.
As always i can count on you for reliable tests. So using Tera prisma and swapping to the overheat once the swords are out sounds the best plan. Just gotta get those legendary schematics :s least the overheat can be grinded for if my luck gets bad
does meow sword have a max hits what if you spawned the raid boss in a tiny room like people used to do with seed mine 😮
How sharp is the damage falloff from the new weapons? Explosives and plasma launcher don't have falloff so that's another factor to consider in the competition. (Asking since I still need the 1k coralium to make the weapon in the first place). I'm also curious how the meowmere performs in tight spaces against raid bosses, like that one setup with the grenade mk2's.
Why is Terra Blade still listed as having such terrible dps when it's just a stronger Excalibur? Hit the enemy with the actual melee swing like the excalibur, it does more damage.
Man's putting out all the goods! Great work, thank you for putting in the time amd making a straight forward easy to understand vid!
Side note, I really wish that overheat ammo was cheaper to make.😢
The terraprisma isn't free to repair. It's using it's durability directly as ammo. I'm not sure how much it costs to repair higher tier ones though
Interesting, so Vortex Beater is the best weapon that is built on pal ingots
My favorite combination is Terraprisma with Vortex Beater and the Hallowed Helmet, perfect DPS with low cost for repairs and Ammo 😀
No plasma cannon swap?
Why is mewmere so weak
Lol every time I used the meowmere I feel like people think a cat Is dieing or something
Once I get enough ammo I'm replacing everything I use with the overheat rifle. I'm very very happy with it. The charge rifle has worked very well for the new raid boss since it doesn't move much but it's honestly just too slow.
How does the damage compare if you have 2 overheat rifles and swap between them just before overheat rather than tapping? does it cool down automatically when not active?
Im still not getting votex beater from the dungeon n i ran it at least 10 times
As far as I've seen for the Coral weapons:
-The heat gun wins in damage, but eats through ammo,
-The shotgun is the most balanced cost wise but reqires close range.
-The charge is an alt to the plazma cannon with less reload time but longer time per shot.
For the Terraria weapons:
-The meow is ok, but its ability to distract non-attacking enemies is interesting.
-Prisma is the the best new weapon, but you need a few sitting in you inventory to maximize the benefit.
-Nightglow is fun, but has trouble hitting smaller targets.
-Terra blade and Excalibur are really good if you want to melee.
-Vortex I haven't really seen, but apparently it's good in single player arena.
Also what about testing with frostplume's reload speed improvement? (50% faster reloading)
Meteor Launcher is not bad since it is on a budget, as meteor ammo is easy to make.
I use Terraprisma+Vortex as my go to dps combination. The vortex explosions having hit stun can flinch lock enemies as they are shredded to death.
What about Frostplume's partner skill, Peacock Pounce
While fighting together, SnowPeafowl's icy aura sharpens your focus, improving reload speed. A defensive (Legend, Diamond Body, Swift, Bruly Body?) Frostplume with Gobfrins seems strong.
You can also dodge/roll to cancel reload animations.
I dont think Terraprisma should be in this list. All the weapons here will using Terraprisma. Its kinda got its own slot, with no other items competing in its slot. Everyone with every build use it against hard bosses.
