Stardew Valley Let’s Play #61 – Ascending the volcano!
Welcome back, indie game fanatics, to our continuing let’s play of Stardew Valley. We’re going to be jumping right back in where we left off. Um, pretty sure we’re still cooking up batteries for the Ridge Village one. Yep. Need 30 battery packs for that. Uh, we still need to work on reducing the crab mess. We’ve only got 8 days left. I really should focus on that soon. I think once we’re done with the hotel bar back up, we’re going to go to the reducing crab menace and kind of focus on that a little bit. Um, I do need to get some more hardwood so we can fix up the giant stump and also we need to bring our watering can so we can access the volcano on Ginger Island. So, we got quite a few big projects we’re working on right now. Uh, Alex sent me a recipe for spinach soup. Very nice of them. When grandma tells me I need to eat more vitamins, I ask her to make this. I always add a few eggs at the end for extra protein, of course. Okay, [Music] Kitty. [Music] All right, so prioritizing today. What do we want to work on? What do we got to do? definitely need the batteries to finish up. Um, go ahead and start making sure we have the correct amounts in our inventory for that. We will finish that today. There’s our 50 copper bars. And I believe we already have more batteries in the chest in here. [Music] So, we just need two more batteries. Those will be ready in one in-game hour. [Music] I’m going to grab my watering can [Music] for later. Uh because of the time of the day, there’s not too much else I could do until we get a run at those batteries. But I am going to go ahead and cut down my other mahogany trees that we have grown and get them replanted. [Music] did not get back as many seeds as I was expecting there at all. Oh, there’s some more hardwood. [Music] basically just killing time till about 9:00. That’s when stuff in town mostly opens. Uh so until then, I figured we’d do some cleaning. [Music] [Music] All right, it’s 9:00. Let’s go and head back. [Music] I’ll grab this little bit of hardwood left. [Music] All right, just short of 80 hardwood harvested right there. [Music] And go back, clean up our inventory. [Music] Take the 100 hardwood to clean up the giant stump. Three seeds go in here. Moss in here. [Music] Should have the other batteries now. [Music] Yeah, we got the batteries we needed. [Music] All right. So, we got to go up to Ridge to turn in that mission. Uh, Hardwood’s going to be the stump south of the farm. We’ve got to go to Lewis’s house to turn in the prize ticket. And we got to visit Gunther for these. So, let’s tackle Ridgeide first because I don’t think I have a rail car to there yet. No. So, we got to go to the bus stop and then head up from here. Take the uh the sky right up there. Now, where am I bringing this quest? the hotel. [Music] What’s up, Lenny? I’m guessing this is where I get the quest for repairing their minecarts soon. Don’t go thinking about that being some form of child labor or something. That sweet young boy was on his way to Pelican Town. Anyways, I didn’t want to pass up the opportunity. I think it was Kimchi that came to visit me. [Music] A yes, about that important business. What’s up? See that mine cart over there? I was thinking of a small project for us. I mean, why the heck not? Think of it as a small challenge. Come on, let’s take a closer look. Yeah. So, it’s about fixing up the mine carts that connectide to Stardw Valley. [Music] Look here. This old minecart here hasn’t been used in such a long time. time. It was originally intended to be a quick travel method cases of emergency. Unfortunately, it didn’t come to that. So, it never really served for its purpose and was eventually abandoned. So, I’ve been thinking, let’s fix it up. How about I give you the honor of helping us restore this old system? Ah, such an honor. All right, cool. You’ve enlisted Robin’s help. Drop these supplies in the minecart box, and we’ll get it all fixed. All right, what do I need for it? 300 wood, 10 iron bars, five gold bars. The iron bars are annoying. All right, where do I get the hotel backup battery supplies dropped off? Let’s see. I don’t see anywhere down here about you, Richard. You know where I put this stuff. [Music] Ah, here it is. Got it. All right, we got a bunch of money for that and we’ll see tomorrow if we get anything else. All right, moving on. [Music] So, we leave side area. We’re going to head to this mine cart. We’re going to jump over to town. Hit up Lewis real quick. Also, what’s on this board? Fragment pieces. Calling amateur pelontologist bones. Biome balance. Uh, neither of those are particularly fun. [Music] All right. That’s why I wanted to visit here before we went to visiting there. Star drop tea and three tickets. Nice. [Music] All right. First to Clint and then to Gunther. We’re going to head over to Ginger Island and see how far we can get in the volcano with the time we got left today. I don’t think I can travel there this way. I got to take the boat, right? Yeah. Central Station underground shops. Alico Desert. All right, we’re going to be visiting back here soon cuz that is interesting. I didn’t know you can get there by boat. Oh, crabs. Can I kill them? Perhaps Lady Luck has blessed these wicked bones of mine or has her own designs for my or has her own designs for my fate. At any rate, I have no choice but to make a life for myself here. There’s fresh water in abundance, food to forage, and fertile soil to work. First, I’ll build a shelter. There are some pages missing. Oh, that’s uh silly. I’m only going to kill it cuz it had an item. It’s based off the star on its head, but all it had was the slime heart. So, I’m a bit disappointed. I’m shortcutting it up. Holy A lot of these things. Where’s the door, though? Diamond Hunter. All stones have a small chance to drop a diamond when mined by hand. Huh, that’s pretty cool. It specifically specifies when mined by hand, so that way you’re not just getting it when you’re bombing stone either. Uh, warp totem island recipe, dragon tooth, hardwood, and ginger. Ginger ale recipe. Forget those recipes. And then the clown shoes are six defense, five immunity, which are actually better than the space boots by quite a bit. The idea here is you can refill your watering can. All right, let’s see if we can get to the top. Uh, we’re going to rebuff up. Heal up. Here we go again. [Music] Oh, this one’s an even worse one. [Music] Um, lot of slimes. [Music] [Music] [Music] Adios. Ooh, I want to go over here. [Music] [Music] all the pineapple seeds and a diamond drop. Let me read this journal scrap real quick. Day six. I won’t go hungry here. The waters are full of edible, nay, delicious fish. I even caught a stingray in the caves by the southeast shore. I haven’t a clue what to do with it, though. The other day, I even fished up a couple of golden walnuts. They seem to be all over the island. The local parrots go crazy for them. There’s a chest over here. You’re annoying. Go away. Hey, mermaid boot. Five to defense, eight to hum. Damn. [Music] That’s way better than what I had. [Music] not enough cinder shards. [Music] I need at least 20 cinder shards to imbue with that. But now we can actually take our rings and bring our rings here to do stuff with them. What happened to my inventory slots? Oh, it’s cuz it picked back up the sap. All right, so we’ve managed to reach here, which was the thing I wanted to accomplish today, cuz now you can shortcut it. [Music] I’ll have to go back through to get more cinder shards and stuff, but the fact is now you can go this way to get to the top of the volcano without running through the whole thing again. Pick your head up. I want to kill you. Aha. How much is it for this again? Over a million. How much do I need for you? 10. I’ve got 11. There you go. Next zone unlocked. And now we’ve uncovered our We need 20 more to fix up the house. But we’ve actually made it here now. Um, can I use this to go back? Yes, I can. Can’t remember what these fruit are. Ginger Island sapo whatevers. [Music] Yes, I know it’s getting late. I’ll go home. Now, can I use this rail car to get back to Ginger Island is the question now that I’ve uncovered it. Island farm. Yes, I can. Okay, that means we can get back out here a lot easier now. magma cap. It’s a mushroom. Uh dragon teeth and cinder shards are both items that we need for Ginger Island. Uh mystery boxes. We got both uh arrow tubbers and pineapple seeds along with some ginger and some more of the ginger island fruit. And we’ve got our boots here. Okay, that was a pretty eventful day if I do say so myself. Didn’t sell anything, but that’s just cuz I didn’t go into the uh shed to collect the pumpkin. [Music] All [Applause] right. [Music] So, I think that’s going to be it for this one. Uh, we are now going to prioritize the killing crabs. We’ve got only one week left in game to finish it off for Dr. Jacob. Um, we fixed the tree stump. We’ve done the re ridgeside village um mission for the hotel. Um Sebastian does still want a pumpkin. I should probably go grab one and bring it to him. Didn’t I set one aside from him? I don’t remember. Check our chest real quick. But that’ll be next time. I’m just curious. Did I ever set one aside? If not, we need to go grab one. I did not. All right. So, next time, uh, we’ll have to remember that to bring Sebastian his pumpkin. It’ll be a lot easier now that we can see that mission again. It was hiding for a little bit there.
