Why you SHOULDN’T make Wood Armour in Terraria #terrariatips #terrariabeginner #terrariatutorial

When you spawn into Terraria for the first time and cut down a bunch of trees, most beginners tend to make some wood armor since that’s pretty much all they can make. This is a great thing actually, getting armor and defense cuz it’s really helpful in the game. The thing is, there’s actually armor that’s better than wood that’s available right away, and it isn’t even that difficult to get. All you have to do is head a little bit to the left or right and find the desert biome. Then just chop up a bunch of cacti and make cactus armor instead. Cactus armor provides the exact same stats as the wood armor, but it also has the thorn set effect. This reflects damage and knocks enemies back when they come into contact with you, which is really great for giving you more time and space to react in the early game, especially since your weapons now barely have any range or impact. Furthermore, wood is actually pretty important for a bunch of things. I know it’s easier to get more, but I still think it’s better if you don’t unnecessarily dump 75 wood into something that is clearly inferior or easily replaced. You can literally get cactus armor 20 seconds over to the side. Maybe the only benefit is if you want to spot their signature noob look.
