Stardew Valley Let’s Play #71 – I forgot how much space flowers take
Welcome back, indie game fanatics, to our continuing let’s play of Stardew Valley. Uh we’re picking up right where we left off yesterday with Lewis introduced hello saying hello at the door. Um so we’re going to jump right into it. He has a very important task for me. Oh, what is it? It’s to look for your shorts. The governor is sending his wife and son to stay here in Pelican Town. Apparently, the child’s not well, and he’s hoping the country air will help. Poor kid. But what an opportunity to earn the governor’s approval. [Music] They’re arriving tomorrow and moving into Scarpin for the winter. I’m relying on you to make them feel comfortable. What do you need from me? Sure [Music] you’ll do pelican proud. Remember they arrive tomorrow. So I just have to like greet them. I can do that. Okay. Inventory space is going to be a problem here. So we’re going to go ahead and dump this stuff for now back into that chest. and we’ll collect it all back after we’re done collecting our crops because our inventory is going to be full. So, we’ll start with the pumpkins. We didn’t get any more giant pumpkins on the second day. That makes me sad. Day one, we get three. Day two, we get zero. Good thing I still had my axe with Okay. All right. Just wanted to grab the rest of the pumpkins real quick. They are going in the pickling station. Actually, no. The aridium quality ones are the ones we’ll hold on or sell straight as is. The rest we’ll put in here. Giggle fruit. Possen up to the mandre. This vegetable is known for causing a tickling sensation on the tongue. So harsh that it might just make you giggle. Interesting. All right. Um and then we’re going to get our pickled fire peppers out and thrown in here. All right. Now, let’s collect the rest of our field. So, the golden carrot, we’re actually going to see if I can seed that real quick. I’m curious. Can we seed golden carrots? No, you cannot seed maker them. interesting cuz clearly look at how much it’s worth in energy, health, and money. So, that really sucks that you can’t make a seed. You can’t uh seed them. They’re just like a rare crop. Now, if you can buy and turn them into something, buy them cheap and turn around and turn them into a nice profit, that’d be one thing. Uh-oh, look at that. We’re already out of inventory space. Just going to collect the rest of the crops, like cut them down, and then we’ll just walk through the field and collect them afterwards after I go open up more inventory space. All right, let’s go make some inventory space. I’ll probably have to go visit Robin to get another fridge, too. Whoop! All right, let’s gather what we can. Ain’t much. Yeah, we’re out of fridge space. All right, time to go buy some more uh bridges. Although I need space to do that. Go see Robin. Robin, where are you at? Why are you not Oh, that’s right. She’s still working on my other structure. We’re going to have to make a chest for now and throw them in a chest, but she’s still working on that uh project for me. Maybe I should just go pay like the extra 200k to make her finish it today. Um the pro the one that’s causing me the problem is the FIA cuz there’s like so many different color variations and then quality variations on top of the color variations. the that’s the problem with the flowers that the the game has is you end up with all these different uh variants of the same thing. Um so we’ll go ahead and craft a big chest and we’ll throw the rest of them in a big chest for now. Um put it right here. Whoop! Whoop! Yeah, flowers are ridiculous for inventory space reasons. Like this is just crazy. And then something I do want to seed is these fairy roses. Uh we do need to grow more of those. I believe fairy roses are how I get fairy dust. So yeah. Also, um I think I only need one bunch of amaranth for Marne Call the delight. One bunch of amaranth. So, we’ll grab a bunch of amaranth. And we have actually filled this freaking chest already. That’s crazy. Made a whole large chest and it filled it with uh Just that. All right. So, we’ve got everything collected here. I’m going to go visit Marne since I can’t deal with Robin right now because she’s busy working on my structure. Uh, the other thing I’m going to do, what’s up, Luna? Is we are going to look up the whole perch thing. What was that? All right, Cal Light is done. We’re almost there. We’ve got six people left to greet for introductions. Uh, Mayor Shorts. We did find his shorts. We already have them. We’re just not returning them. I need to keep increasing my friendship level with Silly. I’ve kind of lost track of that cuz it was taking so long. Um, and I kind of started working on other stuff, but we do still need to increase our friendship with Silly more. Uh, now we now that we have the fire peppers as a reliable gift. Um, once the uh the final batch them is ready here, we’re going to just start fire peppering everyone. Um, you still need a hot pepper for George. Strengthen your bonds with Sunbury Billy villagers to seedling flourish. We’ll work on that. Uh, one Choco Fruit. Haven’t seen one of those yet. Slay 10 pepper rexes. I need to do that. and we need to get friendship with Evelyn up. So, now that we’re done here, we’ll go visit Evelyn and then we’ll go slay some pepper rexes. Um, I should be able to do that in the Sunberry Mines if those count as Pepper Xes. I don’t know if they do or not. I think I tested and they didn’t even though they count in the adventurers guild as Pepper X’s, which is weird. Oh, there’s more seed. She has her own like flower seeds galore, including catnip. [Music] Interesting. I don’t think I ever paid egg fertilizer. Fertilizes eggs to ensure a rooster will hatch. What? So, there’s a rooster besides a chicken in this game with the mods. Um, I think we have to get pick up an egg fertilizer. Chewing stick. How do I get the chewing stick? I don’t know. So, we’ll put the egg fertilizer in the um new coupe when it’s built. We’ll make sure we get ourselves a rooster from one of our chicken eggs. Um all right, so off to Evelyn we go. I don’t think I have any quests to give anybody a pumpkin anymore. No. We did finish that. We’ll go say hi to Evelyn and gift her. And then we’ll go say hi to Silly and gift him. [Music] [Music] All right, two hearts with her now. Is it silly? Also, we need to go to the desert. We’ll go visit Silly and then we’ll head to the desert. We need eight void spirits. I might just go kill those today as well. And we need the pepper X’s. So, let’s go visit Silly. [Music] [Music] Thank you guys for the aquamarines. Uh, Silly. We are one heart off of being friends with Silly, I think, is what we need to do the next step on that quest. We definitely want to make sure we’re gifting Evelyn and Silly uh every day right now. Uh so, let’s head back to the farm to grab some resources and then we’re going to the desert. We got to turn in our jade today because it’s Sunday. And we’re going to bring along our rubies and diamonds for the um spicy eel dish as well as the uh triple shot espresso. Uh we’re also going to at that time turn in our omni geodess which I don’t know where they are right now. Where did my omni geodess go? Here they are. That’s right. All right, we put him away for now. Oh, we also need to visit Gunther still. Can do that today. Um, [Music] all right. So, we’ll go visit Gunther first. Uh, no. We should go to the desert first because we’ll get the artifact tro so which we can then have Clint break. [Music] All right. So, we are trading in staircases. [Music] shot espressos. Spicy eels. [Music] Gold bars get you gold carrot seeds. Well, now we have a reason to turn those in cuz gold carrot seeds are worth at least like I think it was like 1,500 somewhere around there. That’s worth way more than the gold bars, I’m pretty sure. [Music] And the value of the gold carrot as a food crop is ridiculous. Like a single gold carrot will fix up both your health and your energy, no matter how low it is. [Music] Anyways, [Music] all right. Eight more artifact troves. Let’s go visit uh Clint and then we’ll go visit Gunther. [Music] So, we got two aridium sprinklers and then a bunch of stuff we’ve already had before. unfortunate. I’m pretty sure the Yeah. Wicked vase, ancient staff, mushroom statue. We need silver mask, lapless necklace, and golden coins. We got the wicked vase, the ancient staff again, but nothing else new. Got to keep having to farm artifact troves. [Music] Hey, magic rock candy. Nice. Mhm. [Music] All right, let’s go home and sell off the artifacts. Strange doll. You got to take that to the mines. Since we’ve already turned one into the museum, you go down to floor 100. You take it and you chop it in there and you go, “Huh, that was weird. Must not have been the right one.” Oh well. I thought that’s what you did with it, but I’m wrong, I guess. Oh well. Uh, the other thing we need to do is go grab our aridium rod, and we need to head up to finish the quest with the witch. The witch. Let’s go ahead and do that. Meant to head to the farm. And I need more fridges. More than just one. There’s a lot of food items here that are like just spread across different chests still. Um, let’s get rid of those sunflowers for now. Pumpkins we’re selling as is. Uh, egg fertilizer will go in that one chest once we can get in there. My tools can go back in here for now. So, we got these two items to get rid of in a bit. Uh, where am I going now? We’re going to run to the beach, see if we can get any oysters. And we’ll grab our fishing rod anyways. I have bait somewhere. There’s some bait. have any traps. That’ll work for now. Um, I’m going to take the fishing rod to the train station. The cookies weren’t even part of the stuff in here. I’ll have to put in the chest out here. All right. Train station railroad. So, we need to finally go ahead and enter here. [Music] Oh, I didn’t mean to do that. I didn’t mean to do that. Meant to walk past it so I could go fishing. So, what I’m looking for is actually void mayo, but since we’re here, we might as well try catching some void fish. That’s a catfish. That’ll give us some fishing experience, too, while we’re at it. swamp leech. First time seeing that I know this isn’t everybody’s favorite activity. [Music] This fish in particular is being annoying, but we got it. That fish, purple algae. Void minnow. catfish. I think these bubble spots are just uh aesthetic because I don’t see it a game reacting to it at all. [Music] Well, we got our first void salmon. I’m just trying to get some mayo, guys. Give me Give me some mayo, please. Must be some algae. Nope. Void minnow. Oh, we got a chest. I’m a bit annoyed that it’s actually taking me this long to uh get the void mayo. Not supposed to be taking this long. It’s not the worst thing in the world for me cuz I need the fishing XP anyways, but at the same time, like I don’t want to spend a whole episode pretty much having you guys just watching me fish. Although, we haven’t done a fair bit of everything today in game. Don’t make me go get my fishing quality uh my fishing buff food. Got a bunch of different food though. Buff fishing. That void salmon just did not want to get caught. [Music] Plain old white algae. Minnow. Nope. Algae. It’s always the opposite of the one, I guess. Void mano and algae have very similar. Hey, there we go. There’s the void mayo. That’s what we’ve been looking for. There you go. Get out of my way. Hello. No. What are you doing here? How did you get past the goblin? I gave him some mayo. I’m just here for the ink, though. You really can’t get the staff these days. I’ll have to send a complaint to the agency. And what are you doing in my house? She never She waves her hand at you ineffectually. [Music] Bye. All right. So, we got the inks for the wizard. Now, these are all different things. So, ancient majesty seal of protection will be lifted, allowing monsters to appear on your farm at night. Make an offering of one strange bun. This one, I’m not sure what it does. [Music] Uh, I don’t know what that one does. So, these ones, like, it all depends. Um, I believe this is how you get rid of your kids is this one, the dark shrine of selfishness. Uh, it turns your children into bugs or into birds. Sorry, birds. And they fly off. I’m not sure about these middle two statues. I can’t recall. Um, yeah, we got to go see the wizard now. Rain is passing. [Music] I got what he asked, but doesn’t seem like uh it does anything. I think it’s going to be one of those ones where he sends me like a letter in the morning about it completing it. All right, so the other one we can do is hot pepper seeds. I’ll see if I can find a hot pepper seed. Otherwise, we got to wait till spring or summer. All right, we got to go Sunberry and see if killing those kill uh counts as killing pepper rexes. That’ll be our next stop today. We still got inventory space. intentionally going to the bottom floor and then we’ll work our way up from there. [Music] I heard the ding. I think it counts. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I am liking the sunberry mines for the um omni geodess specifically for farming those. This is pretty effective. [Music] Oh my god. Accidentally clicked off screen is what happened. [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh, hello. Hello. [Music] Why are there so many rubies right here? [Music] [Music] [Music] All right. How many are we up to? Talk to Freddy. Um, I think Freddy’s the one up in Ridgeide, right? I think so. We’re back up to 20 omni geodess, which is another three or four of these. Uh, let’s go. I didn’t mean to go up a level. I wanted to go uh to the entrance. [Music] I don’t think I can get to Freddy in time. Yeah, I doubt Freddy’s going to be ready for me right now. We’re going to head back to the farm for now. Clean up our inventory. It’s a lot of nice uh rubies and diamonds stocked back up. Uh as far as the fish go, they’re all going in here, including the purple algae. Okay, so that ended up being a little bit longer, but hey, we got uh a bunch of stuff done today. We didn’t go to the beach, though. I have time. Let’s run to the beach. I got to start collecting the um uh town. I gota remember to collect this too every once in a while. I don’t need the crabs anyways. I’m looking for oysters. I only see No oysters today. I don’t think I can get a lot on winter. I’ll have to see if I can buy some from Willie. That might be a possibility workaround for this uh this area. The other thing I’ll want to do is um I saw that they just had a fragment of the past. That’s the uh skeleton bone collecting quest. I’m going to go ahead and do that because after I do that, I can turn bones into fertilizer. And specifically, there’s a certain type of bone that I can turn into tree fertilizer. Uh, which in the long run would save a lot of money and be able to allow me to farm trees more effectively in the later game, if we even need to do that. I don’t think we need to do any tree farming, honestly, cuz the ways to make money were so numerous early game that money is not as big of an issue. But it is possible that later on I have an issue from lack of funds. I can’t reach my uh phone right now. Here we go. It’s getting cold out there. Make sure to wear warm clothes. Thanks, Mom. I want you catching a chill. I’ll knit you a scarf. That was funny. All right, it is now day one of winter next time, which is when I believe I have to go greet bust out the welcome wagon for Lewis. uh for the governor’s wife and son at the Escarp in. So, we’ll be sure to do that tomorrow. Um and yeah, that’s going to be something that we’ll spend some time doing. I’m just going to check here real quick, see if there was any minerals that we can check out for next time. It also seems like they can’t um process artifact troves or mystery boxes here. uh in the geode crushers. So, we’re going to have to take those to Clint. Uh we’ll get some more artifact troves from these omni geodess at the desert merchant and uh then we’ll have Clint break those open. Um I’ll remember to do that next time.
