How Valid Are Negative Terraria Reviews? #terraria

How valid are Terraria’s negative reviews? Let’s go over a few of them and see if they actually have good points or not. Couldn’t find a way to save and quit. There is no settings button. It’s stupid. I want to like this game, but because of this one issue, I can’t. This is not even an opinion. This is just factually wrong. It is kind of weird to have to press escape to save and quit, but it’s there. Could easily look it up and then find that out. These stupid vultures won’t leave me alone. I hate them. They chase me across the map. You know what? This is pretty fair. I got to agree with this guy. I’m not a huge fan of vultures either. This game is low-key pretty boring. Finish everything and now there is nothing left to do. The bosses are bland and kind of easy. Finish the game, tried hardcore and for the worthy, but it was still too easy. Listen, of course the game’s going to get a little bit boring after you play it for over a thousand hours, but at that point, just move on to a different game or go and get some mods. There are lots of fair reasons to criticize Terraria, but I don’t think a lack of content is one of

  1. I couldn’t find the pause button when I first played on PC. But that’s because I had my bar at the bottom open, and it was covering the pause button.

  2. I played terraria and didnt really like it, the progression is weird, i hate the evil biomes, building is hard as hell, playing this game with no wiki is impossible

But hey who am i to judge

  3. Terraria has almost 7x the content of Minecraft, and that's with a limited world size, not to mention they add more content even after they declared a "final update" multiple times, plus they actually listen to their players and take suggestions. I only got bored of it after over 4000+ hours because it was the only game I ever played, if I'd gone back and forth between even one more game I'd probably have at least over 6000 hours by now. Even though I'm burned out on it for now, it's an 11/10 game easily (also vultures are not that hard, just get a wooden sword or if possible, a cactus sword, or a bow with flaming arrows, or even grenades work great. Experimenting helps a lot.)

  4. If you enjoyed terraria for a 1000hours, you loved it until satisfaction. This person is very odd to leave a bad review on a game they loved

  5. A valid criticism is the fact you can’t progress in the game the first time without the wiki or guides because the game doesn’t tell you what you need to do at all

  6. The first one is actually a problem i had. When i started the game for the first time, my taskbar stayed up and the settings button was hidden behind it

  7. Ok, terraria seems fun, but I have a history with friends that would play only terraria, oh it’s time for a conversation? ITS ABOUT TERRARIA, oh he wants me to come over, sure why not, guess what I get to sit through, that’s right, it’s 4 hours of terraria split screen, this bro literally is incapable of simply liking a game, it will become all he talks about for around 4 months before he moves on to the next one, pretty sure his current one is a roblox game called dig

  8. I will give them some merit on the save and exit thing. For some reason terraria doesn't allow you to access the pause menu with a button (like the esc key) or at least not on default anyway, it is quite strange having to open your inventory first then go to settings.

  9. I feel like the last point is not fair to make.

It is true that once you kill moonlord the game basically ends which the reviewer suggests, and terraria's strength is your progression from one boss to another and testing that proression on the next boss. The game is flawed in that you can't really progress forever thus when you reach the end, the game stops.

Suggesting that mods fixes that feels misplaced since the same thing can be said on any game. And devaluing the review by bringing up that they've played it for hours, that just means that they've exhausted all or almost all of what the game is.

Ragebait or not I legitimately think that is probably the only flaw terraria has.

  10. "It is kinda dumb that you have to push escape and then save and quit" this being the industry standard, im sure the customer is going to find many titles they dont enjoy
