Tous Les Grappins de Terraria : Fonctionnement et Guide !

Today in Terraria, the grappling hook guide. We’re going to take a look at all the grappling hooks in the game, see how they work, their differences, how to obtain them, and two or three little techniques you can use them that can always be fun. This tutorial is part of a series of progression guides. We started with the wings. Today, it’s the grappling hooks. And then, we’ll move on to the different classes available in the game. We’re not going to leave anything to chance. I hope you find this video useful and I hope you enjoy watching it. First, a grappling hook. What is a grappling hook? It’s a rather special accessory that goes in your equipment, right next to your mounts. Especially when you have one equipped, using a simple shortcut, you can automatically activate it and swing the grappling hook to grab onto a wall. The most basic grapples in the game only have one hook, but the most advanced ones have several. In fact, we’re going to look at the different grapple categories right now. First up, we have the famous grapples with a single hook. So, to be honest, these are the most common grapples you’ll find at the beginning of the game, especially the basic grapple or the grapples made with gems. Their stats vary, but they ‘re generally among the worst, since that’s what you’ll find in Hardard Mode. If you grab onto a surface and then try to pull elsewhere, you’ll get detached from the surface in question. And that’s important to remember because that’s only the case with these grapples. Then, we have two individual grapples. So, an individual grapple is a grapple that has several hooks, except that you can’t have several activated at the same time. So, we’ll have a hook in a wall, we pull with the second one and as long as the second one is hooked somewhere, well, we attach ourselves to this second one. Finally, the third category is simultaneous grapples. In this category, we generally have grapples with three branches and even some that have even more. And there, the principle is simple. We can hang with all the branches at the same time and when we pull one more, well, it just takes out one of those that we had already placed. It is possible to obtain some in pre-hard mode, but most are hidden in hard mode. This means that they are generally better than the others since we obtain them later and therefore they have two better statistics. Grapple statistics, what do we mean by that? Well, first of all, there’s the range, that is, how far you can use it, the number of hooks, and how quickly you can use them, which can make a big difference. For example, the web piercer is relatively slow compared to Skeletron’s hand, which means it’s better to take the latter rather than the former in a boss fight. Now, let’s discover each grappling hook individually and how it’s unlocked. Let’s start with the grappling hook. The grappling hook. This grappling hook can be bought from the goblin tinker for two gold pieces, or it can be crafted with a hook and three chains. It’s crafted on an iron or lead anvil. You can get hooks from most of the skeletons you’ll find underground, except for those in the dungeon and the piranos. And the chain is made with a little bit of iron or lead with an anvil. Honestly, it’s better than nothing, but from there to make it, meh, it’s much better. For example, the squirrel grapple that you can buy from the zoologist for the modest sum of two gold coins. In addition to acting as a classic grapple that also allows you to hang on to trees, which is quite a nice feature. But the grapples that I prefer to start a game are really the grapples that you make with gems. So we have the amethyst grapple, topaz, sapphire, emerald, ruby, the amber grapple and the diamond grapple. They are all made with 15 of their respective gems which are obviously found in the undergrounds occasionally. So it can sometimes take time to make them, but the amethyst or topaz ones are generally made quite quickly. They have slightly different stats, that is to say that the diamond one is slightly better than the amethyst one, but they are all, roughly speaking, in a handkerchief. No matter which one you get, generally, it is a good idea to have one if you have not had one yet at this stage of the game. Perceile is a somewhat peculiar grapple that you get in spider nests, that is to say the caverns where there are a whole bunch of spiders, as well as webs and therefore you only find them in chests like these. And this grapple compared to the others, well, it has eight branches. It’s the one with the most branches. So after, it’s not as practical as it seems, but it’s still nice. Then we have Skeletron’s hand, which is obviously a drop from Skeletron, 12.24 % in classic mode and 33.33% in expert or master mode. It allows you to have a grapple with two branches, or should we say tomorrow in a what time? But tomorrow is a bit far away, so we’ll say today instead. Were we trying two branches? Alas. Alas, it is often surpassed before even arriving by the Frost Grapple, which is an occasional drop from the King of Frost with a 33% chance of obtaining it in classic mode and 50% in expert or master mode. And the Frost Grapple has three branches. It’s a little slow and not necessarily the best range, but a three-pronged grappling hook at the start of the game, we don’t say no. The hook, for its part, is a reward from the fisherman’s quest. It’s rare, you have a 1 in 60 chance of getting it from each fisherman’s quest, but it’s one of the two-pronged grappling hooks. Getting it at the start of the game isn’t so bad. The lizard whip is a grappling hook that’s misnamed since it’s a grappling hook, not a whip. What’s it doing here? No kidding. The worst part is that the French translation is accurate, and it’s also crafted near an anvil with 12 jungle sports and three vines. So the sports are occasionally found while walking around the underground jungle. The vines, when they only drop carnivorous man-eaters, are always in the underground jungle. This one, regardless of Taraya’s versions, remains one of my favorite grappling hooks. Easy to obtain, or at least simpler than others. Three branches, versatile, powerful, and long-lasting. There’s even a way to search the jungle before beating a boss to get it. When it’s Halloween, so from October 10th to November 1st or just after the pumpkin patch, you can get surprise bags by killing monsters. And when you open the surprise bags, you occasionally get the chance to get the hot grappling hook. A very special grappling hook, it only has one branch, but it’s faster than the others and takes you to your destination faster than the others. These speed advantages can be significant against bosses. The Christmas version is the candy cane grappling hook that you get in gifts. And the gifts are obtained by killing monsters during the Christmas period. So from December 15th to December 31st. It doesn’t have the same stats at all as the grappler boss. In fact, it’s much more banal so we don’t care unless we don’t have one at that time. Of course, starting in hard mode, we can notably obtain the double grapple. 16.67% chance of obtaining it by killing an imitation than a mimic in the underground. The double grapple is a little special. It’s one of the only two grapples that is an individual grapple. It has two branches but we only use one at a time. The advantage of that is that we stay in place while the second one is launched. The dissonance grapple is an occasional drop from the frozen queen with a 33.33% chance of obtaining it in classic mode and 50% chance in expert mode or master mode. For the moment, the grapple of dissonance is super interesting and since it is obtained quite early in hard mode, it can be cool to use it. It teleports us to where it lands, so it only has one branch, which means that we can always fall or move when we aim. But its instant teleportation makes it a great means of movement which is almost comparable to what we will have with the staff of discord. In the case where we have difficulty obtaining a staff of discord, I have a tutorial on it but it is true that a distance grapple can very well help out. In the meantime, the thorny grapple is an occasional drop from planter. We have a 10% chance regardless of the difficulty of obtaining it. We can see it as an improvement of the ligature whip, that is to say that it has more or less the same palette, more or less the same face and exactly the same number of tr branches but that it is simply faster and has a better range. In the undergrounds, depending on the biome, we sometimes find thematic imitations. We have ones for the sacred, ones for corruption and ones for karma. And we will always have between 25 and 20% chance of obtaining a grappling hook when we kill these imitations. The problem is that they are still quite tough. The imitation of the sacred gives the illuminating grappling hook. Uh the imitation of corruption gives the green wooden one which is a green grappling hook. Not green the earth glass of course he not the green the color what. Nor the green the texture. Anyway, it’s understood. And the tendon grappling hook, it’s a grappling hook that we can obtain on the imitation of karma. All three have exactly the same stats, the same properties, and the same number of branches. It’s just that they’re three different themes , and the Illuminating Grapple makes light. There are two other three-pronged grapples that are very similar to the previous one but are obtained much later. These are the Sinister Grapple, which you occasionally get by killing Terrifying Woods during the Pumpkin Moon, and the Christmas Grapple, which you occasionally get by killing Everscreams during the Frost Moon. Both have the same stats, meaning even better range than anything we’ve seen so far, pretty good speed , and three branches as well. Generally, when you can get them, you’re really getting close to the end of the game, and it’s true that the statistical differences they bring are always appreciable. So why not? A bit unusual, we have the Anti-Gravity Grapple. We have a 0.13% chance of getting one from most of the Martian invasion enemies. When we use it, we rotate around a point and if we place several branches and well the grapple finds the balance between the different branches and in fact we will be able to navigate in this way which in some cases can be very practical but I admit that I have a little trouble using it generally. The static grapple can be bought from the steamker for 50 gold pieces. Again, it is one of these grapples which has a really atypical mode of operation because that ultimately it will keep us in place on the same row but that then we will be able to progress gradually according to where the grapple lands. It is really very strange to use but that especially for construction or this kind of work a little more metolic, it has crazy uses when you think about it. It is also one of the only two individual grapples with the double grapple. Finally, the last of the grapples that can be obtained is the lunar grapple, which is made with an ancient manipulator and six fragments of each type. So astral, nebulous, vortex and solar. Whether in terms of speed, range or even number of branches, it is truly the best of the grapples without a doubt. With the four branches, we can obtain a certain form of precision that we do not have with those with three branches and at the same time, well, with its range and its speed, we’re still on a good grapple to fight bosses. As we did for the eles, here are my little recommendations on grapples at different phases of the game. This time, we paradoxically have fewer phases of the game. Finally, we first have the beginning of the préard mode. So obviously, no matter which grapple we find at that moment, we take it. But those to favor are still the lier whip, the bat-grapple, these two in particular, the chau-grapple for its speed of execution and the lier whip for these three branches. If you can’t get them, well, a gem grapple or even the frozen grapple to help out for quite a while. Then at the start of hard mode, well, we have two grapples that are particularly interesting. The illuminating grapple for these three branches and its stats are better than the liar’s whip in particular, as well as the dissonance grapple because it simply teleports us. Then before the lunatic adept, well, we’ll try to have obtained, for example, the sinister grapple or the Christmas grapple. And if not, if we don’t have them, the thorny grapple, which is also quite, uh, correct. Finally, after the Moonlord , well, then it’s up to us to see what we prefer to do. I would always obviously recommend the lunar grapple, but we have the three slightly unusual grapples, namely the dissonance grapple, the static grapple, or the antigravity grapple, which have rather specific scenarios where they can be interesting. To compare the ranges of the different grapples, I made this little table directly in the game. To make this table, it’s not complicated, I placed myself on this yellow platform. I determined that it was the zero block. Then, once I was well cohered in the corner, I had fun shooting with each grapple as straight as possible and then, I placed the corresponding grapple in a frame right on top directly where it arrived. So then, we have signs below, 10 blocks, 20 blocks, 30, 40, 50. And from there, it gave this little ranking. So in orange here we have all the grapples of the pre Hard mode which are found there with in particular the basic grapple and we can see the evolution of all the gem grapples right on the line over here the famous chief grapple which is really very powerful. I think that one day it will perhaps even be corrected. And finally we have some of the other grapples which come to walk around there for the pre hard mode. On the side of the hard mode well it’s not very complicated eh. Most of the grapples that we can obtain are all within a handkerchief in terms of range. So ultimately it doesn’t change much from that point of view. It’s really more their abilities that will make them more interesting or not. All that changes from the moment we get to the Lunar Grapple and the Sinister Grapple or the Festive Grapple, since these three reach the same distance but we still have four branches on the Lunar Grapple, which makes it the best. Finally, we have the Static Grapple which is the one with the longest range of all the grapples and that’s where we realize that it’s really designed for construction. Some grapples also make light. This is particularly the case with the Lunar Grapple. So each branch is a different color and there are cases where in addition to being stylish, it can be useful. The antigravity grapple has one of the best lights in the game. I love this color, I love this brightness, it’s magnificent. The illuminating grapple is no slouch in terms of pretty colors. However, it’s a little less bright. The Christmas grapple has really pretty garlands. Excellent compliment, by the way. A very pretty garland. And finally, the double grapple casts a tiny bit of light where it lands, and the light changes depending on the branch that lands. You can actually cross platforms by using your grapple on it. So, on a grapple with three or four branches, it’s not necessarily very fast, but on a grappling hook with a single branch, we already see the difference a little more as long as we manage to cross properly. It’s something useful when we’re in an arena, especially when fighting against an event. It can allow us to move a little faster as long as we aim well, which is not always my case, we’ll admit it. In addition, as soon as we cling to a surface, we reset the flight time of our boots, our wings or even the double jumps. This therefore allows us to have even more double jumps as long as we were able to cling to a wall or a platform. Moreover, as long as we remain clinging somewhere, the player becomes completely insensitive to any type of recoil, which can be useful in certain cases. On that, we’ve covered the subject. As usual, if you have any questions, suggestions or anything, don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments. Otherwise, a thumbs up is always appreciated. I hope you found this video helpful and I’ll see you next time.
