I Spent 100 Days on a Deserted Island in Hardcore Minecraft… Here’s What Happened
Paradise, isn’t it? Not for me, it isn’t. This place has been my prison for the past 100 days. There’s a lot of dangerous stuff on this island, such as this mysterious plant. Day by day, it’s spreading all over the island, and you can’t get rid of it. If you touch it, like I did many, many times, you get horrible side effects. There’s also a ton of dangerous animals, which if you touch them, which I did many times, you get a also very bad side effects. Over the next 100 days, you’re going to see me escape this island and return back to Canada where I’m going to talk to my travel agent, figure out why I keep ending up in these situations. You know what? Let’s just cut right to the chase. It was day one. I wash ashore with no recollection of how I got here or the 8 hours I spent trying to get this mod pack to work. I immediately proceed to then get myself in a situation. Hey, little snake. How’s it going? Kind of not not happy with that rattle going or that. I’ve been playing for 44 seconds and there’s already business. There’s already this sort of stuff going on. What are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing? This is supposed to I I have precious time right now. I have no weapons. I I just got here. What are you doing? It’s shooting. What is going on here? Look at this thing. This plant right here is highly toxic. Look at this. If I touch this thing, terrible things will happen. Not another one. Why is there another one? Why is there another one? Okay, you know what? You walk through the plant. You’re going to demo the problem with this plant for me. Walk through it. Please walk through it. Please walk through this plant. Come on. Walk right through it. Oh, you don’t like it, do you? It stings. Yeah. This island is home to many dangerous animals. And venomous spiders are are not even the close to being the scariest thing out here. But before I could even think about the spiders, I had to get an idea of the layout of this island and figure out what my plan was going to be. I need to decide where I was going to build my shelter and uh just how to proceed with all the stuff that I had going on in front of me. This isn’t the first time I’ve been stranded on a deserted island. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. They’re sucking me out. No. Oh, oh, oh. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, no, no. I got so much. No. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my god. But it was a very long time ago and that island was completely different from this one. Regardless, the thing that made staying on that island hard was running out of things to do. But that won’t be the case this time because my one and only goal is to get off this island. But it’s not as simple as it sounds because I’ve made a couple rules for myself. I can’t just build a regular Minecraft boat and sail away. Let’s just say it’s not strong enough for the water or something. I’m not going to build a floating base. Not going to build anything in the water. Not going to build an underground base. I’m not going to do anything that would make this whole scenario pointless to do in the first place. Everyone always suggests to build floating bases to get away from the problem that I’m facing. And I always respond by saying I could also just remove the mod and then and then I don’t have to deal. That’s my point with this. All right. The goal is to get off the island and survive whatever is out here with me. But before I can make a raft, I need somewhere safe to spend the nights, a shelter. and I want it to look like something that I’d actually build while stranded on a deserted island. Okay, so fortunately I was given two items prior to arriving to this island. A bed and night vision. Look at this. Look at that. Hey, I’m really glad I was equipped with night vision. That’s perfect for for me right now. It’s exactly what I need to survive. Looks cool, though. What is that? What is that? What is that? What is that? What is that? It’s a fly. Okay. Going to sleep out on the beach tonight with my with the piranhas. After what I could only consider to be one of the roughest starts I’ve had in a 100 days video before, uh, I knew this was going to be a lot tougher than I thought. So, no screwing around with this one. I had to get to work. I needed tools. But since I was using the no tree punching mod, I needed to do it the hard way by getting flint. Unfortunately, some piranhas made that uh more difficult than it needed to be. Oh, flint right here. Perfect. Okay. Oh. Oh. Oh, okay. Didn’t know you would be here on the island. That’s good, too. And this thing. Ah, I need the flint. I can’t get flint until uh I can get it right here. Ah, the piranas are driving me insane. But I got raw flint, then banged it on rock until I got shards. Then I used samboo and one of those shards to make a knife. Using the knife, I got plant fibers, which I used to make string. And then I used that string to make a flint axe. I got some wood and I made a crafting table and slept. I’ve been out here for 3 days now and I wanted to see how much the vine had spread in that time. So I went back to the side of the island where I had first seen the vine when I got out here. And uh look at this. Two skeletons wrapped up in the vine. You know what these guys are? My two previous attempts at trying to do this ended in a very similar fate. So, if you think this is just a plant, just a regular old Minecraft plant, I’m telling you, this thing is thing is no joke. That rattlesnake is just doesn’t even care. I guess it’s like evolved to not feel the venom. Is there any food around here? Oh, there it goes. See that? Oh, never mind. [Music] Oh, it is spreading. That That is spreading. That plant is spreading. Yay. Oh, the r It took the rattlesnake. Can I have that? Yeah. What is this? Ooh, I can make a maraca. That’s cool. Can I do anything with this? This is cool. I like that. Totally out of food now, though. So, it spawned a new one. Okay, that plant is going to be a huge problem. Same with this. Look at this. It’s it’s that was not there. That is spread outwards. Yeah. See that? [Music] It’s spreading fast. The vine is spreading. It’s very slow right now. Extremely slow. I can I can basically ignore it. But this thing will very quickly get out of control. This is a deadly plant. I had tested the vine by slightly touching it, which was a mistake because I was now very hungry. So when I should have been getting more tools, I now needed a fish. After getting some food in me, I c I kept wanting to progress towards getting a pickaxe. And the next step was to uh make hardened wood. And you did that by burning wood. So to do that, I needed to make a little fire and then toss in the wood. That got me a wooden pickaxe and then a stone pickaxe. Then I made a hoe and I set up a farm. I made some land here for the farm. And I spent the rest of the day fishing. There there’s no way I’m running into any food problems this time. Not not spending days and days and days worrying about food. But with food taken care of, the next problem that I was facing uh was the heat. It It was getting hot on this island, and I was going to need to find a way to protect myself from it. I got to do this in real life a lot, too. I burn like crazy. Getting off script already. Anyways, this heat was going to just fry me to a crisp out here if I didn’t find a way to lower it or something. I’m getting my cursor is moving by itself. You see that? Look at this. That’s not me moving. That is me. That is me. Something’s happening to me right now. Am I getting sick from something? My vision’s getting blurry. You hear that? I’m getting Look at this. Am I Oh, look at my heating. I’m getting too hot. I’m overheating. But luckily, before I needed to really address the problem, it started raining, which cooled me off. Yeah, for now. But this is something that I can’t really ignore that much longer cuz once it stops raining and I want to do more, it’s just going to get it’s going to be too hot. So, I mistakenly decided to fish when I should have been trying to solve the heat problem. One of the ways I could cool off was with a water skin. It’s like a sack of water that I can carry around and splash myself with whenever I get too hot. But to make it, I was going to need leather. And without cows on the island, I was going to need to get creative. Next to where my shelter was was the swamp. And in the swamp, I had seen a bison. I looked at that thing and thought, “Ooh, that looks like a man who’s got a lot of leather. And I’m a man who needs leather. So, looks like that man is going to start giving me the leather that he has one way or another.” The only problem was was that without any weapons, uh, there was no way that I could take this thing down. So, I kept walking around the island looking to see what other animals might be out here. And I came across an anteater. Now, you might think it’s just a regular anteater, but you I can’t make that. These things have killed me before in an unreleased video. I got I got murder slaughtered by one of these things. So, I I didn’t want to go hand to hand with this. Just as I was coming up with a plan to take this thing down, I got distracted by a chameleon. Chameleon. Wait, I can do something with it. Hey, I love this guy. What do you like? What do you like to eat? What do you like to eat? You like seeds? Okay, this guy I love. I love chameleons. I was about to I wasn’t about to do anything. You like moss? Please stay around here. Okay. There’s a way I can do stuff with you. So, for now, unfortunately, you’re going to stay in a box until I figure out how to do that. Okay. I didn’t want to fight any of these animals directly on. I wanted to hit them with something ranged. And without having a bow, my next best guess was to make some sort of thrown weapon. And I figured a spear would be perfect for that. So, the plan was to make a spear, approach the anteater, whip the spear at it, and hope that uh it would drop leather. But, as it turns out, you you can’t throw a spear. I I thought spear is like the thrown weapon, but apparently it isn’t. So, change of plans. The new plan was equally as stupid. Uh, and I don’t know why I thought this was going to be a good idea, but I took the spear and thought that I could jab the the buffalo and provoke it so that it would chase me and I would then lure it into the river. This is a legitimate idea I had. Lure it into the river and have the piranhas eat it for me and then I would grab the leather. That I don’t know what was going through my mind with that one. In this video, you’re going to see me make some uh questionable decisions about survival. And I just want to say I think I’m stupid. Okay, I think I sometimes not the whole thing is not working up there. You know what I mean? Watching back some of these clips, I can’t help but think what what was going on up there, if anything. But I’m going to tell you, go ahead and leave comments and let me know how I can get better cuz this is sometimes I just I need to figure it out. You know what I mean? Don’t try the piranhas. So, we’re going to have to come up with a new plan. Probably going to have to wait till I get a bow. I’m just going to climb these trees until I’m safe. Absolutely cannot fall. That went terribly. The next day, I came back and finished them off and I got zero leather. Got to remember that cuz I guarantee in the future I’m going to look at one of these things and think that I can get leather from it. Really got to drill that into my mind. So instead, I fished for for a little bit until I could think of a new plan. I figured that the problem was the sun and I just needed to stay out of it. And a great way of doing that was to make a shelter. So I cut down some trees. I removed a big rock and I dug out some dirt to make room for a simple shelter that I could make here on the side of the beach. I did the same the following day. But as I was making the space for the shelter, I began to put down cobblestone to act as a retaining wall. And that’s when I ran into another problem. You see, in this mod pack, my shelter requires upkeep. So any blocks I place down will decay and destroy themselves over time if I don’t feed the shelter new blocks. You might have you might be familiar with this mechanic. It’s pretty similar to rust. But anyways, as I was placing down these cobblestones, I realized they were breaking and that if I wanted to build a shelter, I was going to need a place to put all of these resources that I needed to feed it to stop it from decaying. And the item in which you put those resources in is called an upkeep cupboard. But to make an upkeep cupboard, I was going to need iron and some other stuff. So once again, my priorities shifted. I was going to need iron. So I started digging a hole in the ground. But my mining trip was cut short because I got very thirsty doing that. It’s thirsty work for a man digging out all these holes. So I came up to the surface and I drank rain water. Rain water is good. It works. It’s clean. You don’t have to filter it. It’s ready to go. But the only problem is that you can only drink it when it’s raining. And in the future, if I want to go further, if I want to get deeper underground, I’m going to need some way of drinking water on the go, which is going to be a water bottle. So I made some water bottles and went to bed. The next day, I made a new pickaxe and went mining. And it didn’t take long before I found an opening and started getting some iron. Things were going well until I saw Hey, look at that, another large spider. So, I decided to get out of the cave and I got up to the surface thinking everything was good. And as it turns out, it wasn’t great up there either. It was just just spider after spider on this island. Ah, there’s another one right there. These spiders are freaking me out. What do you even do with it? With it? I need walls cuz I can’t I can’t be living with these spiders. It’s like got me on edge cuz I don’t know. Like I’m hearing the stuff move and it just The piranhas are in the water here, too. Where are they? Why there? Why do you have of all the places you can go, why there? I just need to I need to get to chase me. Come on. Oh, it’s so fast. It’s so fast. Oh, I don’t want to be swimming out in this water like this, especially when I saw those sharks. But look at that. Come over here. Now I’m cold, actually. There’s a shark right there. Oh, man. Just swim. Just swim. Just swim. Just swim. Don’t flop around like a seal. Don’t flop around like a seal. I don’t think it’s coming for me. Hopefully, he eats that spider. I’m cold somehow. I guess cuz I’m in the ocean at night. just get home and sleep. It’s been too crazy today. Way too crazy. At least my one of my things has grown. Well, my iron smelted down. I got more seeds for the farm. I planted them, then made the cupboard, and boom, look at this. I can now make a shelter without it falling apart. Just as long as I feed it supplies. The amount of supplies it requires is related to the size of your base. So, the bigger I make my shelter and the more supplies that I need to feed the cupboard in order to keep the shelter going. So, I needed to find a nice line between shelter that’s going to protect me, but also isn’t going to require me to work full-time at keeping it standing. But before I could start building, I got heat stroke again. I don’t know if I showed that before, but apparently that happens. You see my screen start shaking and moving around. So, I needed to cool off in the ocean. So, I jumped in kind of forgetting about all the piranhas. And sure enough, these things just start swarming me again. But there was a silver lining to all this because I found out that I can use their teeth to make arrows and a lot of arrows. One tooth equals like 16 arrows. So, I spent the rest of the day hunting piranhas because if I had arrows, I could start taking care of some of the stuff like spiders and some of the larger animals out here that would help me. On the morning of day 10, I woke up to the words, “You hear something moving?” And uh I’m going to tell you, I kind of kind of wish I hadn’t because uh this little message is alerting me that the vine is spreading faster now. So I went to check it out and sure enough it was. I I couldn’t really spend too much time here though because the giant spiders chase me out of the area. And the problem with getting chased out of an area uh on an island, especially an island such as this, is that the island isn’t very big. So it’s not like I have very far to run from the spiders. And anywhere I did run, there was a strong chance I was going to run into more spiders. And at that I had nowhere to run too cuz I had no base. So this was just a a bad situation to be in all around. But it reminded me that I really I how badly I needed to build a shelter. So I spent the rest of the day cutting down trees and getting ready to build finally. But when night came, instead of heading to bed, I had other plans. Plans that would help me endure the heat on this island. And that was uh this is something I’ve been excited to do. Hog hunting. At night, wild hogs came out. And I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to hunt them with the night vision goggles that I started out with. There’s some right there. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. Here we go. Oh, here we go. Oh. Oh. Oh. I don’t know if I’m ready for this. A regular a per a reg a a person of regular Minecraft skill, this would be no problem for, but when you have a person of my brain, I don’t know. might not be ready for this hoglin hunt. It’s also just kind of scary. I need a bow. I can’t do it with a scythe. Are you kidding me? I’m I am not I am not who I think I am. Right click to throw. I’m trying it. Oh no, I can do multiple. Okay. Okay. Okay. We’re good. I don’t know why I didn’t do this to begin with. All right. The hunt is back on. Right there. Right there. Okay. Here we go. I missed. Oh, I hit it. I can’t I just can’t see cuz the night vision. Hey, you’re stuck. Okay, there we go. Hoglin hide times three. Perfect. Perfect. And I get two leather from one of these. Hoglin tunic. All right, keep going. I got to be careful of spiders. I just realized. Right there. Right there. Here we go. I can’t see. I cannot see the daggers flying. There we go. It’s so easy. Any leather? No leather. Just a bunch of meat. Come on. I’m just stopping to try to listen for them. Right there. The fact that I had trouble with this at the beginning is crazy. Come on. What is that? What do you draw? What do you got for me? Another hide. Another hide. How much do I got? Five. Yes. Is that the sun coming up, too? Sun’s coming up. Beautiful. I hunted all night and in the morning I had enough to make a hoglin helmet. And take a look at this. I I it truly looked like a man who had been stuck on a deserted island with his helmet. You might be wondering what’s the point of this thing. Well, it gives me heat protection. Every piece of hoglin armor I have, the safer I am from the heat. So, getting a full set is another priority I had out here. I needed to stay safe from the heat. And uh the only way to do it was to hunt more hoglands. So, every night my plan was to go out and see if I could take down one or two until I had a full set of hoglin armor. But hunting these things with the spear or whatever it was that I was using wasn’t I think I was using a scythe at this point. It was not the greatest way of doing it. And I really really wanted ranged weapons. So I figured I would get in a little raft or a boat, I guess, and sail around the island and look for more piranhas. I wasn’t finding any at first, just sharks. And uh I there was no way I was going to get close to a shark. But after sailing for a bit, I found some. There’s a fish right there. Oh, it’s a piranha. Okay, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good. Well, not not necessarily that good, but wonder if I can fight it. Oh, that’s a lot of them. That’s way too many for me to just fight. Okay, that’s like five of them there. They follow me to the shore. Yeah, here we go. Okay, good. Ah, see you guys keep you keep giving me the land advantage. Come here. Like you I don’t know what you’re doing, but yeah, get in the boat. Keep getting Yeah, get Ow. You’re a fit. Look at all that stuff that just came out of these things. I got five teeth from that. Five scales, too. You know what you can do with these? I can make a scuba suit. Fin. I need a fin of some sort. I got the teeth and started heading home at sunset. And on my way back, I found something truly incredible. There’s a crab right there. Beautiful little crab. I wonder if I can eat that. Got to take advant The whole thing about food. I always end up starving. So, whenever I see stuff like this, I got to just Hey, hey, hey. Hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Come here. There we go. Okay, that was way crazier than I thought it would be. Probably I probably burnt more energy chasing that crab than the meat’s going to give me. Don’t chase it, Sean. Don’t chase it. Don’t. It’s just more right. It’s more meat. There we go. Night crabs. Listen, when you’re in a survival situation, you got to you got to take the meat you can get. I need all the meat I can get my mouth on. Okay, day 12. Finally started working on the shelter again. I didn’t really have much of a plan. So, I pretty much just I don’t know, just tried things out to see what I liked. Again, my the whole thing that I was trying to do here with this shelter was build something realistic looking. I put that in quotations. All right. I I wanted something that looked like was you’d actually find on a deserted island. I ran into a problem where most of the wood on the island was wood blocks and not logs. So when I cut down a tree, I’d get wood that I couldn’t use to make the things that I wanted to use to build. I wanted to build these like wall wooden walls. And to make them, you needed wooden logs. And because the wood that I was getting was not logs, it wasn’t going to work. So I started planting saplings, which kind of kills two birds with one stone. Once my shelter is built, it’s going to require a lot of wood for upkeep. And if I wasn’t regularly planting saplings, I would burn through all of the wood on this island so fast. So, I needed to replant these trees. But also, the wood I was going to get from the sapling planted trees I could use to make my shelter. And as for the wood that I had now, I could just convert it into planks, which I could then feed for the to the cupboard. So, this was a slow process, but it was going to work. While I was out there getting wood, I ran into some more hoglins, and uh I figured, hey, you know what? Let’s take these things down. All right. Hey, or wild boar. Are you scared of me? Oh. Okay. Oh, second one. Okay. Bad situation to be in for me. Okay. There we go. Oh. I’m playing with fire right now. There we go. Okay, that’s scary. I was I was feeling not so good there. Three more. Okay, I got to get home. There’s another one right there. Okay, but I have enough health now. Oh, there’s a big spider, too. Just going to that hoglin. That’s That hoglin’s getting away. The piranha teeth were great because they would get me a lot of arrows, but without feathers, there was no arrows. And so far on the island, I think I’d only seen one chicken, which was good because it meant that there was chickens out here and they were capable of spawning. Uh, but I wasn’t currently wasn’t seeing that many of them. I had previously made a little chicken cage. So, when I did come across one, I’d have a little pen ready to go. So, I spent the day searching for one, and I finally found one. I didn’t find a chicken yesterday, but I did see those chickens before. So, they are on the island. Oh, right. Right here. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I have seeds. I got five seeds. Hey, come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. A lot of stuff out here that I don’t want to be like right there. These little legs. Come on, chicken. Please, chicken. I’m I’m not even looking at you. I’m looking at the top left of my screen right now. Come on. I’m looking at the middle of my screen right now. Please, chicken. Chicken. Please. Yeah. Yeah. This is like genuinely one of the worst things. Thank Thankfully. I don’t I don’t got that fear of spiders like some people do. Well, I mean, right now I do. Okay, let’s take him for a trip over here cuz I haven’t been here in a while. Oh, it’s still spreading. Of course, it’s still spreading. It’s going to continue to spread. Yeah. Come through the Come through the plant. Just walk through this normal plant. Yay. And then and then walk on some spikes. He’s way too close for comfort. He’s way too close for comfort. He keeps walking in my spike drop. Oh my. He’s so close. I feel like a genuine sense of like tingling on my I’m like shaking in real life. Oh, okay. Maybe I do got that weird spider thing. I hate I hate the spiders. I need these spikes up all around my base. These wooden spikes. They’re perfect. Just get home. Go to bed. I didn’t know it yet, but spiders were going to be the uh the least of my concern on this island. Yay, day 15. I was a man with one thing and one thing only on my mind. Getting a chicken and getting him into the pen. So, I went out, found the man, and lured him back in. Now that I had a chicken, I could use one of the mods that I was most excited about in this mod pack. Take a look at this chicken armor. Look at this. I’m worried that thing’s gonna eat. Here you go. Look at this. The chicken’s got the iron armor. Can I ride it? And I have Didn’t I get a name? I got a name tag. I got a name tag. Oh, I can’t use I need to get an anvil. Look at that. Beautiful. I had a friend out here now. And this man was like the only thing on this island not trying to kill me. Hey, that’s good. I love that. I think I named this guy a Hansel. Beautiful, beautiful man. I was I was so happy. Okay, I trusted this man with my life. This man would never hurt me. Anyways, I finally started building a shelter. I wanted it to look like some like kind of rickety driftwood thing that I just scraped together. So, I’m using wood walls to build the frame. The only problem is uh they take a lot of logs and until the saplings I planted grew, I wouldn’t have a lot of actual logs. So, that night I went hog hunting again. Look at this. Look at Look at what my character looks like right now. It’s crazy. You know what’s I I really like this night vision. I think it’s very cool, but it’s just kind of scary. Oh, wa wa wa. And not to mention, it looked looked really good, too. I was very happy with how it was all looking. I also found another chicken in the morning, so it was a very good morning. Hey. And at this point, I kind of knew the overall shape I was going for. It was going to look very, very simple, just extremely simple shelter. So, I spent the day experimenting with blocks that I could use to try to make it look a bit more interesting. And uh I was very happy with these campfire logs that I could put down. This like really made it look like a what I was going for, which is very rare when I’m building stuff in Minecraft. I kept working on it into day 18. I then lit a campfire to just I don’t know, keep me company. It’s kind of dark out here if you don’t have something like that going. 18 days alone on an island gets a gets a man’s mind going. And the fire the fire just calms the mind. Why? Why do I have this written in the script? No one wants to. Anyway, speaking of fire, uh I wanted to see if I could burn the vine. And as it turns out, uh you cannot burn the vine. So, I was back to building for me. Uh and this time, everything was just coming along nicely, which is so rare for me. But all of this cutting and building and hacking down trees and digging, it was taking a tool uh I want to say taking a toll on my tools. Taking a toll on my tools. Taking a toll on my mind, too, because apparently can’t read. Hey, focus. Focus. It’s getting off going can going to go off script so far here. I needed to fix my tools which required me going into the mine. And since I had this night vision, I was looking for any chance I could to use it. I loved using it and I thought, okay, let’s throw in the night vision, go down in the mine, do some mining. That’s was good. But you know what? It kind of kind of realized when I was down there with it on that it was actually kind of started starting to scare me a little bit wearing this stuff down here. I don’t I don’t know how to fight this. Look at this giant head. It’s like biting me. [Music] Come on. I heard out there. Okay. Oh, I don’t want to be in here anymore. Look at that. Okay. Okay. Okay, that just uh concerned me a little bit. Like knocked it knocked over leaves. To be honest, I don’t have a clue what I’m going to do about that vine. And I’m speaking presently because as I’m doing this voice over, I’m not done yet. The vine is a huge problem for me in the future. You’re going to see it’s a massive problem. But for now, I wanted to just keep working on my shelter. So, I added some leaves to the roof and then uh I hatched an egg. Yay. There we go. Tube. That’s what I was waiting for. Beautiful. Yeah. I wanted this shelter to have different types of wood. I didn’t want it just to be one texture. here. I wanted to kind of look like I I had thrown together different logs or something. I don’t know. So, I added some jungle wood that I used for I just mixed a different type of wood in. All right. The two type of woods that I had and uh it made a very slight difference. To be honest, probably wasn’t worth the effort I put into getting these logs. But, I don’t know. Anyways, the base needed to actually protect me. And the best way of it protecting me was to do what I always do, and that’s build a bunch of walls around it. I know people are probably getting sick of seeing me build walls around my shelter. But here’s the here’s a problem I always have with with these builds. I don’t know what else to do. All right, if so, if anyone has any suggestions of how I can make my base safe that doesn’t involve some sort of wall and isn’t a floating base or an underground base, give me a suggestion cuz I have I always just end up building walls. There’s got to be something else I can do besides walls cuz it is I feel like I’m a man who builds walls. It’s my full like honestly truly feels like my full-time profession. If people ask me what I do for work. Oh, I build walls in Minecraft. What are you talking about? No, I I build walls. That’s what I do. I build What am I talk What am I talking about right now? As time goes on, more and more creatures are going to start spawning on this island, and it’s going to get I mean, I’m I I I’m enduring it currently, and it just gets out of control. Okay. And speaking of spawning, I was getting anxious about the vine, so I went to check on it the next day. Look at it. I stepped it. I stepped in it. Stepped in it. Just does so much damage. Freaks me out. At least it’s spreading that way. It hasn’t started spreading this way yet. It’s uh it’s really spreading. 24 days in and it really really seemed like something that I should be trying to solve right now. But uh here I am working on the working on the wall again. Okay, day 25. Day 25 was a wonderful day and you’re going to see why. I was working on the wall. That was the plan, just to get the wall built. Uh, but I got distracted when my uh, 2-year-old daughter came to visit me while I was playing. This thing was stressing me out. It’s a constant reminder that I have to get off the island. But since it was night and there was hoglins out, I wanted to take advantage of that. And I hunted more and it went just went so poorly. I spent day 27 working on the wall more. And if you’re wondering why I’m working on it, it just it just there’s so much wood that it requires and these saplings are growing so slowly. So I just kept planting more and more saplings. And when nighttime came around, I needed to get more hoglins and this time my brain was not working at all. Okay, come on both you. Yeah. You don’t want to walk in that. It confuses you, doesn’t it? You don’t know to step in it or not? I’ll tell you right now. Step in it. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yet again, the hoglin has outsmarted me. But you know what? How about some cooked meat? I need some meat. Hey. Okay. That that is not the meat that I wanted cooked. That I am so dumb. What is wrong with me? Like, what what was that fight? Time to go to bed. I I thought I was going to die there. That would have been my That would have been easily my worst death ever. Okay, let’s move on from that. After that little uh incident, I I decided I would try not to hunt hoglands until I had a bow and arrow. The following day, it rained and rained and rained more. I wasn’t really sure what to do with my time, but I needed Andesite. Andesite was going to let me build a lot of the machines that I would use to uh build the boat. So, this was uh pretty crucial that I got some anesight. So, I decided to go mining. But as I climbed deeper into the mine, I noticed something terrible had happened. It flooded. Every underground tunnel was now filled with water. Any chance I had or plan that I was considering where I would go underground in case the vine took over the entire island uh was now out the window because there I couldn’t. The the caves are full of water. And this also meant that if I wanted to do any more mining, I was going to have to make a diving suit. To make a diving suit, I needed piranhas for their fish scales. So, I set out into the ocean and had a very close call with a shark. [Music] I I don’t know why that man didn’t just snap me in half there, but uh anyway, I was out here all day searching and killing piranhas. At night, I found these beautiful giant coral reefs. Uh but they were swarmed with sharks and uh I was getting a little bit I don’t know. Would you want to swim around on this side? Cuz I I don’t know. Swimming around with big creatures kind of was freaking me out. So, I called it there and went back to the shore and went to bed. In the morning, I woke up again to another message. You hear something moving. Oh no. Oh no. I forgot about the vine. How can I forget about the vine? I got to be careful when walk. Look how far up it is. This entire section of the island has been covered. Oh, it’s moving right there. Growing right in front of my eyes. The vine was growing way too fast and I still had no plans how to deal with it. So, as per usual, uh I left the area and just forgot about it. He tried to put it out of my mind. For the next few days, my focus was entirely on getting this diving suit made so that I could go back into the caves. And the most crucial part of a diving suit is an air tank. And to make an air tank, I was going to need to not only construct it, but also fill it with air that I could then breathe underwater. But to get air into the air tank, I was going to need a machine that would do that for me. So, I crafted three water wheels, um, which I then place down. And this might seem like a waste of time because I’m just putting air into a tank, but I’ll be able to use these water wheels to power other machines that I will then use to make the boat. So, this kind of was a this water wheel thing was going to help me in a few ways. And while I was doing all this, my base was still chugging away at wood. It took 56 pieces of wood a day now. 56 pieces of wood just to keep this place intact. So, multiple times I had to just stop what I was doing and go out and get wood just to keep my base from falling apart. And while I was out there, I once again hunted more hoglands. The following day, I was back to work on this water wheel machine. Done this thing so many times and yet my brain just once it’s built, the memory of how to do it just goes away for some reason. Like, look at this. You can see I was struggling with these wheels trying to figure out how to make it work the way that it needed to. Watch this. This was brutal. Anyways, all you needed was a gearbox. So, I put this gearbox down and built a little platform for my tank. Placed it underneath the gearbox and thought to myself, “Well, hope this works. We’ll check back tomorrow and see if there’s air in the tank. Day 34. Jeez. Been out here 34 days. 34 long days in the sun. You know, makes man makes man start thinking about how messy he is. So, I started organizing my inventory, which is I think the first time I’ve ever done this in Minecraft. But look at this. Now, my I got little chests dedicated for specific things. One’s food, one was usable materials, one was building materials. I I you know I should really start doing this going forward because this made things way easier for me instead of just throwing stuff in every random chest. But anyways, after I got this all organized, I went over and checked the tank and it looked like it was sucking up air, which I assumed to be a good thing. I had no idea how long this was going to take, if this was like a fast thing or if it was going to take a couple days, but I figured I’d just let it go for a little bit longer. In the meantime, I started digging up sand because I knew that at some point I was going to need a bunch of glass for something as I always do. Uh then I chopped down some more trees. I planted some saplings. And I really wanted to look up if there was some lumber mill thing that I could make to make this whole wood gathering thing a little bit easier cuz this was starting to take up a lot of time every day going out chopping wood, giving it to my base. The next day things started to get a little bit nutty. Okay. Uh let’s go check the tank cuz I I need to get down there. And I also got to figure out how I’m going to make a raft. It was in the ‘9s. of a toucan. It’s like tiny and I remember what it looked like. I don’t know if it was from McDonald’s or where it was from, but I loved this thing. I loved it. So, all I could do is just feed him an egg and let him go off and live in the island. Can’t afford a man like this. Hopefully, he’ll just fly back and I can say hi and he can live free on the island and not fly into that vine. I then made the rest of my scuba suit and I picked up my back tank, which was now full. And uh I headed out to the ocean to see if this whole thing that I was setting up was going to work or not. Yeah, 14 minutes. Look at this. So, I can run on the on the ground. That’s great. Look at this. This does a lot of things cuz now I can also head out to the ocean out there and find useful stuff. Yeah. Okay, that is one of the first and most important steps in me getting off this island. Hey, look at that. Works. My man who can now breathe underwater for I believe 15 minutes at a time. that is going to be extremely useful for both things that I need to get outside of the island and when I have to go cave diving, which ends up being one of the most terrifying things I have ever done. And that’s exactly what I was about to find out on day 38. Unbeknownst or whatever the word for that is to me, I was sitting here throwing gear on. I put on my scuba suit, then I threw on night vision, and I started heading down to the flooded caves. again completely unaware of the experience that I was crafting here. Okay, the problem with this is that I don’t know what ore is what. What is this? This is red stone. Keeps going deeper. What is that? Okay. Okay. Okay. [Music] Okay. What you I see something like that when you’re in a cave with night vision on. Get me out of this cave. Get me out of this cave right now. I of all the things I was expecting, I was not expecting whatever that was swimming around down here. Do I have any underwater weapons? Can I throw a javelin underwater? No, I can’t. That is a little bit terrifying for me. I got to prep myself mentally for something like that. That is cave diving with night vision and giant beasts. Okay, what was that thing? That was absolutely brutal. I managed to get one diamond, which I suppose is good, but I’m definitely going to need more. And I absolutely need a ton more iron for all the stuff that I needed to build, like a mechanical crafter and a mixer and a bunch of other machines. However, that was going to require more cave diving. And uh yeah, that’s it’s not good down there. So, for now, I wanted to stay on the surface and uh get some bamboo because I was going to need that as well. But as I was getting the bamboo, which was in the swamp near my base, uh those things started to spit at me. I’m going to plant. Ow. What is What is What is What is Ow. What is [Music] Okay. Okay. That’s you, you know how significantly bad this is? Think about this. I’m already That vine is spreading significantly and it’s eating up chunks of the island that will no longer be habitable. And now I just lost another significant portion of the island because of the water rising. This was horrible. And of course, the elephant in the room is that there’s a very elephant in the room. There’s going to be an elephant in the jungle here soon. I don’t know if that guy’s What? Stay on script. Stay on script. I know everyone’s going to probably just assume that you can just build above the vine and you’ll be safe or that you could build your base on the water and make it like a little floating cabin or or whatever, but I don’t want to do either of those things. I think I mentioned this already, but I don’t like doing stuff like that cuz I feel like it defeats the whole purpose of this and that I could very easily just also remove the mod and then the vine would disappear. So, I will not be doing that. I’ll be trying my best to avoid the vine in a I don’t know. Okay, the vine. You’re just trying to I don’t know. Feel like a stubborn old man. I’m not moving my house. I was here first. It’s my my official explanation. Anyways, I needed to get the get more bamboo to build the boat frame or whatever. So, I went back to the swamp and uh it’s looking extra swampy now. I was going to need a ton of bamboo and so uh I needed to figure out where I could replant it. And just as I was thinking about this, minding my own business out here, I was interrupted yet again. And things really started to spiral out of control. There’s a crocodile again, which is going to be a problem for me. Is there a mosquito? There’s a mosquito in that tree. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. [Music] What is that? I mean, it’s my fault. There’s more crocodiles. Look at the What? There’s a a crocodile just ate something over there. Alligator crocodile. I don’t know which one it is. It’s getting tagged by these things. Don’t come up. Please, please, please. You’ve eaten enough. You’ve consumed enough. I can’t I can’t handle these things right now. And within literally two minutes of day 41, I was attacked again, but by a different animal. An animal that I thought would be friendly. What’s this now? There’s a turtle here. Hey, how’s it going? I started digging into my chicken supply, cooking some chicken cuz uh the amount of things that were causing damage to me out here was starting to get a little bit alarming. That plus the vine that was spreading and the water level rising was all you think this island was feeling more and more inhospitable. All right, didn’t seem like there was going to be an island for that much longer with the way things were going. I decided to conduct a little experiment. I needed somewhere to plant my bamboo. So, I planted it along the perimeter of the vine, thinking that maybe it would stop it from growing. Absolutely no clue if this would work, but it was worth a shot. Something’s getting hurt out there. Ow. A monkey. Oh, there’s two monkeys. I’m not even I’m not even looking at that right now. [Music] That [Music] that monkey just throw a rock at me. Okay, that monkey threw a rock at me. What is it’s getting real hard to work out here with all these animals biting me and spitting and throwing rocks at me just becoming Nutty Island. It’s the official name for it now. Nutty Island. 100 days on Nutty State. Focus. But while this was all going on, the bamboo was growing, which was good. So, I got some of that. I cut down some more wood. I planted some saplings and I called it a day. I was putting this off and dreading doing this, but it was finally time that I needed to go back into the flooded caves and do some more cave diving. So, I grabbed my tank, which I’ve been refilling with air this whole time. And, uh, somewhere along the way, I got pummeled by a bear. There’s a There’s a bear, right? I forgot about the bear. Where’s my javelin? Not this again. I’m not I’m not playing the game. I’m not playing this bear game again. Why is there a bear on an island? A small island. Told you I’m not playing Animal Kingdom. Okay, that goes there goes all my javelins. Come on, bear. Hey, bear. There we go. Way easier than last time. You know, look how it’s filled in even more. Here we go. I love going down here in the dark. It’s nice. Better than throwing that on and going swimming. I’m kind of dumb. My iron pickaxe is nearly broken. Nope. Nope. Nope. Okay, time to find a different route. Time to find the exit. Swim out of here. It took me a while, but I finally found my way out of there. What an absolute brutal time. I came up with nothing. It ends up being just a completely pointless trip. I went to check on my bamboo, and I was very pleased with how quickly it grew and how much I got per plant. For just two, I got 21, which was great. But my little experiment kind of didn’t work. The vine just right around the bamboo. I have no clue why I thought that might even work. I really needed to go back underground. But there was a bit of a problem. You see, the island that was built for this video was built before I added some of the mods that I was using in this video. So, some of the resources that I needed weren’t in any of these caves. And I also just pulled the curtain back a little bit here. Couldn’t get the flooding quite right. As a result, I may or may not have had to copy my player data to an entirely different world where I flooded the caves and it had all the resources I needed and then pasted my player data in that world. And look at this. I’m in the caves now. Don’t even for a second look at my XP bar. All right, don’t don’t peek at that. Just keep your eyes off that. The plan is here to get all the stuff I need from the caves on this, let’s call it, parallel universe world and then copy my player data back to the original island. Uh yeah, don’t just don’t think about it too much. Okay. Can’t really explain how much I hate this. What is that? Zinc. I’m going to need zinc. It’s swimming. It’s swimming. There’s something swimming right there. What is it? Is it friendly? Nope. Got to swim in the cracks. I can’t like I can’t con convey how scary this is. Like I want to believe this is gold. When I got up to the surface, I wanted to fix the water wheel so that I could fill these air tanks quicker so that I could go back into the mine more frequently. Right now, it was taking way too long to fill the tank. And from my initial look into this whole thing, I understood that the faster the wheels spins, the faster you can fill your tank. So, my mission was to basically just rebuild the the whatever it was that I had set up with these cog wheels to make it spin faster. And after a quick little YouTube search on how to kind of properly do this, mind you, I’ve done this before. I just removed it from my brain for some reason. I was able to get it spinning way faster. And look, just look at this beautiful thing. This thing will fill the tank way quicker now. And the other idea I had was why am I only using one air tank? I I can make as many air tanks as I want and fill them all up and then I can go cave diving for way longer and go way deeper. So, I made a few more air tanks. I think two more. And uh yeah, look at this. Now I had three air tanks. Okay, day 46. I was feeling very good. I could now go way further into the mines and not have to worry about running out of air and suffocating down there. But that was only half the battle because there’s creatures down there that I needed to fight back with. And uh the weapons I currently was using just didn’t work too well underwater. So I started looking up what I need to make a trident, a beautiful, beautiful water weapon. And I needed prismarine shards, which I could get from seashells and shark teeth. So my first priority was to find seashells. And there was none on this beach, but I thought that maybe on the other side of the island I could find some. So, I went out and uh couldn’t believe how close the vine had gotten. Look at the vine. I was planting trees here a few days ago. Look at this. It has spread so far. Look at that. There’s a buffalo in the middle. How is that guy alive? This whole island’s going to be converted. Oh, yeah. There we go. Look. Look. He’s going nuts. You shouldn’t have walked into the vine. You’re out of your mind. Yeah. Don’t be coming for me. What are you doing? What are you doing? Why you thought it was coming straight for me? I mean, I’m going to take your beef. It’s a lot of beef just to ignore. Okay, I need to find these shells. I’m going to walk the beach here. I think there might be some in the water, too. There’s not really much left here. The next day, I wanted to go back and get more shells. Uh so, I grabbed my diving suit, two tanks, and jumped in the ocean. While I was exploring the coral reef, I found shells. And this is even better than the shells, sea pickles. Sea pickles are awesome because you can can use them to light up stuff. For example, if you’re going in like a very scary cave uh that’s been flooded and you don’t really want to go down there cuz it’s dark and really scares you, you can bring a sea pickle with you if you of course if you remember to bring it with you. Or you could just pick up the sea pickle and then put it in a random chest back at your base and never touch it again. One of those two outcomes is the one that’s going to happen for me. And I’m sure you can guess what that one is. Uh but anyways, while I was down, I grabbed a few sea pickles and uh found some sharks. Now, if you remember, I was also going to need shark teeth to make the trident. And uh yeah, I just uh I found a shark that looked like it was something that maybe I could fight and kill. And uh yeah, did not go well. It’s a little shark. Hey, I need I need a I need something from a from a shark. So, you look small. It’s I’m taking damage. Why? Okay, I’m like taking Oh, bleeding. I’m bleeding in here. Okay, I need a thing called a dent. I need a shark tooth. That little shark just did so much damage to me. I need to find a way to get sharks and teeth. I had been completely neglecting the upkeep on my base. So, I spent the morning of day 48 getting wood so that it wouldn’t crumble apart. And with my daily chores taken care of, it was back to figuring out how I was going to kill a shark and get its teeth. The plan was to trap it, or rather trap me, in a small little crack where it can’t bite me, and then I just like poke it to death. So, I got in my boat, sailed back over to where the coral reef was, jumped out of the boat, sailed down, found a shark, and found a little spot that I could like dig into the coral reef with. And uh yeah, this went again. This went as well as you think it would go. Oh, there’s two of them right there. Look at the teeth. There’s three. There’s a big one. There’s a giant one back there that is coming this way. Look at the mouth on that one. Okay. Okay, there we go. Swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim, swim. Where did it go? I don’t know where it went. My javelins. Let’s get that before I lose them. That is just downright terrifying, though. Like that. I just don’t want to be anywhere near that. It’s getting darker. I should not be hunting these things. Let’s uh stay away from that. That is just the thing of nightmares right there. Of course, it’s between me and the island. Where’s my boat? I don’t want to. It’s the boat’s right there and it’s right there. Okay, so apparently the way I get the shark teeth, I can’t really think right now cuz I’m just staring at that thing. That’s just downright horrifying to be honest. The way I can get the shark teeth is by giving a bucket of chum or something like that to the shark. Uh, not by hunting it. There’s absolutely no need to be hunting sharks. So, I got to figure out how to get the Is it just a fish bucket? I got I got to look that up. Apparently, all I needed for this fish bucket was uh two types of fish and bone meal. So, uh I made a composter. I threw in a bunch of saplings. I made some bone meal. And then I combined it with that some cod that I got and some salmon and uh there it was a bucket of fish guts. So then I took that bucket, got back in my boat and jumped down to the coral reef again and hoping that this time I came back with some shark teeth. Okay, sharks. I got a nice big nasty bucket. Oh, there’s one right there. Okay, how’s it going? You guys like this? I uh Look at this. Look at this. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Here you go. What are you going to do? Nothing. Are you kidding me? Honestly, I cannot believe that worked. I was about to spend way too much time either trying to fish a shark up to the shore or try to box one in underwater or the there was a lot of bad plans forming in my brain. So thankfully this whole fish bucket thing worked. I could not have been happier. Now all I needed to do was make the prismarine shards and then I’d finally have a trident which would ideally keep me safe down in the caves. Are you kidding me? I can just craft these into that. I don’t need a whole I’m sitting here think I need to make a machine. And look at this. I got him. I got him. So that plus this. So one, two, three. Three dents. And using the dent. There we go. Trident baby. Throw it. Pick it up. Underwater weapon. Tomorrow I go back into the the spooky spooky underwater cavern and I get more resources for the machines I’m going to need to make. I should really look into that. I just know I’m going to need a lot of machines, which means a lot of zinc, a lot of iron, probably a lot of random things. I should figure out what exactly everything is and then go. Oh no, it’s day 50 and I completely I forgot about the vine. I always forget there’s honey coming out of that tree. That’s not important now. Oh no. Oh no. How much did it spread? Oh no. At least it hasn’t crossed this yet. Those bamboos are Oh, it’s right here. It’s right It’s right here. It’s right here. The vine had basically reached my base. Luckily, it was just one little bush, but this thing was going to start growing very fast. I really needed to get it together, though, and start thinking about a plan to deal with the vine before it got out of hand. I still thought it was best to focus my attention on the machines, though. I needed to build my boat because if I had my boat, I could just leave and not have to deal with this at all. Just sail off and let the let the vines do whatever they need to do on the island. So, I spent the day preparing to go back into the caves. But before going to bed, just wanted to take one last little peek at the vine. There’s the vine right there. Right there. Oh. Oh. Okay. Emu and monkey. Emu and monkey. Okay. The monkey. There’s emus. What are you doing? This thing is tweaking. Ow. What is hitting me now? What is hitting me? All right, I see you. Thought you something else. You want something? There you go. In the morning, I grabbed my bed and headed underground. I was once again minding my own business, trying to get as much iron and other ores as possible. And then I had another encounter. What is that? Okay, time to go back up. Time to go back up. Time to go back up. Not going down there. Stand up on this side. It can’t. It doesn’t It doesn’t connect, does it? It connects. Okay. It’s somewhere in here with me. I couldn’t stand the idea that massive fish were just swimming around these caves with me and they could pop out at any moment. I had to be on high alert at all times. I needed some more ores though, so I thought I made a little air pocket, threw up some torches, and went to sleep in the caves. I kept exploring, and lucky for me, I finally found some diamonds, a bunch of zinc, and some other stuff that I was going to need. I couldn’t be happy for long though because these monster fish, these these cave monsters very close to river monsters uh would not leave me alone. The sounds down here is just it I don’t like that it’s now playing like sea creature sounds. There’s a lot of shiny stuff down here. What is that? Just getting just really hard for me to be down here right now. Go go go go go go. I can’t handle it. Look at that. It is just getting so hard for me to be down here right now. My air tank’s about to run out. I got I got to change tanks. I have my trident now. What am I doing? It sees me. It sees me. Yeah, it’s Shut in the hole. Get in the hole. And please don’t let it figure out that it look at this. Look at this. Are you kidding me? Okay. There’s no way. There’s no way that I can take something like this down. You hear it? Why? It’s not worth it. It’s not worth it. I got to find a different way to get off this island. What do I do in this situation? The trident’s gone. Don’t I’m I’m not even thinking about the trident. I can’t handle it. I can’t handle this. I cannot do this. I was forced once again to hide out in a little air pocket for the night. Love being in these little things. Tiny little tiny little air pockets underground, surrounded by giant sea creatures in a cave. For some reason, I I’d been down here for 3 days at this point. Threw my trident away, which I had spent a bunch of time making. Just thinking I need to get out of here. It’s Is it still here? It’s still here. It’s still here. I’m dead. My only hope is to like swim across and hopefully find a cave. Or wait a minute. I think Yeah, they’re actually attracted to me talking in game. So, I need to maybe not talk and then go. Don’t. That’s stupid. That’s I don’t know why I thought that would work. I don’t know why I thought that would work. I just need Do I just wait till it swims away? The other thing I can do is if I hit the surface, I can like That’s the top of the cave there. If I get up to there, I can mine up and then like seal myself into some sort of room. On my way out, I got as much zinc and iron as possible, hoping that it would be enough that I wouldn’t have to come down here again. And after three brutal days, I made it back to my base and went to sleep. I spent day 55 getting re situated at my base. I went out to get more wood and for the upkeep so everything wouldn’t fall apart. And while I was out get to check on my bamboo, I was in for another rude awakening. The vine was encroaching even more. Like look at that. Where does it start? It’s going up there. [Music] It’s going that way. Okay. It’s It’s close, but it’s not I mean, it’s really close. It’s going to be here soon. I got to figure out whether I need to prioritize the boat or that. I needed to get working on the machines, which would craft the scaffolding for my ship. The first step was to make a mechanical press, which requires a block of iron and anesite casing. Luckily, I already had a ton of iron, so I made an casing. And boom. Look at this mechanical press. You’ve seen me do this a couple times now. I’m a man with a press on the mind. Next, I needed to make a mechanical crafter. These are the two things that I need right now. Let’s focus on the brass casing. To make brass casing, I need brass ingot. To make a brass ingot, you need to mix together copper and zinc with a whisk, a mechanical mixer, and a basin. The basin is made this way. So, let’s make the basin. There we go. Now, we need a mechanical whisk. A whis whisker, which is a cog wheel and it’s like casing and a whisk. And a whisk is made that way. I need iron sheets though to make iron sheets. I need the press which I have and iron. I need a lot of iron. It’s I’m starting to realize just how much iron I need. I have 24. That might be enough. We’ll find out. Where’s the rest of my andesite? Here it is. Okay, we need to make more andesite casings or more andesite. Okay, that gets us a lot right there. Let’s go make some iron sheets. We’ll take our mechanical press and put it right here. Now that thing is operational. Yeah, there we go. One iron sheet. So, how many do we need for the whisk? Okay, then I need a cog wheel. I’m assuming a small cog wheel. Piece of wood. There we go. And now bring it all together. We got our mechanical mixer, baby. There it is. Put it right there. And underneath that’s where I can put the the super heater once I have that, which is going to be the annoying thing to get, but that will work. Okay. What is that? Oh, it’s a toucan. How’s it going? Just going for a little jump. That’s good. Oh, wo wo wo wo. You like it, eh? Wa wa wa. Okay, have fun. The next piece of the puzzle, I think we’re we’re going to smelt, but we need to make brass. The next part of the machines that I was going to need to make was a blaze burner. And if you know anything about create, you’ll know that the blaze burner, as the name implies, requires you to get a blaze. Because I didn’t want to involve the Nether at all in this mod pack, I spent a considerable amount of time learning how to modify data packs and recipes in game. Uh just so that I could make the blaze burner without the need for getting a blaze. I think I made it so that you could put a campfire in in it. And I would be showing you all that footage right now. Uh, but the the recording got corrupted, which is really frustrating because I spent a ton of time learning how to make a data pack so that I could show myself making the blaze burner in game with the modified recipe. But I can’t even show that cuz the recording is corrupted. So, hey, look, I got a blaze burner now. Good. If you’re wondering why I was making a blaze burner, it was so I could mix the copper and zinc so that I could make brass. And using brass, I could make the mechanical crafters, which I would use to make the frame for the boat. So that’s why I was doing all this. Hey, day 59. And it was it was a good day. And after I sorted that out, I wanted to head back to the swamp because there was an area that I hadn’t been before and I thought maybe there might be some string in the trees there. The boat that I was currently building was going to require manual propulsion in the form of me using a paddle. And I don’t know about you, but the idea of paddling across an ocean or at least a large body of water uh doesn’t seem it’s just a little bit it’s not going to work. All right, I want to build a bigger boat than this one that ideally uses sails, wind power for propulsion. So, that’s going to require me to strip this thing down. This is all a complicated way of saying I didn’t really know what I was building here. And I looked up a guide for how to build the ship. And I’m just now trying to find a way to explain it in a way that makes sense contextually in the video. And uh I ran out of iron, which I was going to need for a second or so. So, I had to go back into the mine and I absolutely dreaded this, but it had to be done. So, I made a diamond pickaxe and went back into the depths. I can’t believe I’m back here. Get the boots off. So I started looking around for some sheep. And uh I wasn’t really wasn’t really finding anything. I think I found like a carcass of one or something. I can’t remember. But my guess is that the vine was taking these things out. The sheep had clearly become scarce. So I realized that if I did find sheep, I was going to want to get as much wool from them as possible, which meant not killing them, but rather shearing them. So I went back to the base, made some shears, and went back out looking. Look at this crocodile in the creek. Stay away from that. This thing right here is going to smash me into the crocodile’s mouth or the vine. That’s what I’m talking about. That’s what exactly what I’m worried about. There’s two of them. He’s chasing me. And sheep were one of the things that I uh absolutely needed to get off the island. So, with a couple little edits to make them very rare, but still give them a chance to spawn, I can now start looking for sheep again. And the first place I went to go look for some sheep was in this flat mountain kind of cliff face. It was the highest spot on the island and uh was kind of clear from the vine. So, I started looking here for some sheep. And look at this. Found some. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I forgot the attack. Okay. Okay. Relax. We’re just going to do a little snip. Okay. I’ve got to get killed by a sheep. There’s two of them. I don’t have any food. I don’t have food to heal. I’m going to have to kill one of these sheep. It’s kill or be killed with these sheep. Oh, I don’t want to kill it. I need to cook it. Don’t Don’t bite me. Don’t bite me right now. Don’t bite me. Here. I need I need cooked food. There we go. See that? That was a That was a mega brain move right there. Did I just kill your friend? You could have eaten this. Please don’t tell me it’s wheat that you eat. I could have farmed him. I could have farmed him, but I killed the other one. The following day, when I checked out my upkeep cupboard to see how my resource stash was doing and if my base was going to start falling apart, I noticed that uh there wasn’t really much in there. So, I had to go out and get more wood to stop my base from deteriorating. After that was taken care of, I got back on my boat to search for more sheep. And I found one and a few pieces of string. Look at this. Oh. Oh, I’m getting stuck in it. Just alligator. There’s a snake somewhere. Okay. I just knowingly walked through it to get away from that alligator. Ah. Oh, there’s another one right there. Get me off of this island. I want to go home. There’s so many of them. I need food again. What a what a terrible day. When I got back to my base, I really needed food. I had no other option at this point but to kill my chickens. I I really didn’t want to kill Hansel because this man had been with me since pretty much the beginning. But unfortunately, Hansel had to go down just like the rest of them. And I felt bad. But let’s be honest here. These guys were pecking me and I needed food. So I I only got five chicken from that slaughter. That’s barely going to I shouldn’t have killed all the chicken. What is wrong with me? There goes my renewable food. I am I see why people get angry in the comments to be honest. There we go. Got one baby one. You need to grow up and hatch some eggs and not peck me. All right. On day 72, I made a huge decision. I was going to let my base wither away. Maybe this would come back to haunt me, but right now, I couldn’t be wasting time trying to just feed it wood. I don’t really need it at this point. So, this thing’s just going to start chipping away. I desperately needed food and wool to get off this island, and I did not want to worry about the state of my base. I found another sheep, snipped it, and then came back up with a new plan that would hopefully solve my wool situation. have to start I’m going to start another farm over here or something cuz I need food badly. I could spend some time and try to set up a sheep farm and wrangle other sheep down off the mountain down here to be with this one and then I could breed them. But there’s two problems with me doing that. The first is I don’t know how I’m going to get the sheep down with all of this stuff here. I mean, I could build some sort of bridge or whatever, but that takes time. And the second thing is is this stuff’s going to cover this whole area really fast uh and kill the sheeps. And the third thing is is I just don’t know how much wool I need. I might not need that much wool. So I could do all that and then just snip them once and then not need any more wool. So I think it’s best just to make a farm if I even have Do I have a hoe on me? Probably not. I decided to do a little fishing in the meantime, and I noticed that the vine was growing faster than I had ever seen it grow. What did I just hear like stomping in the grass? Oh, it’s the vine spreading. See that? It just It’s getting rid of the grass. That’s what’s happening. It’s just slowly spreading towards me right now. There there it goes. See, they’re moving the grass. Yep, there goes. Hey, getting closer. It’s good. Doesn’t freak me out at all. Here we go again. Another day. Another trying to get as much wool as possible. No, don’t steal my I need that fish. I was looking for the shears. For some reason, I cannot see shears. right there. Come back down here. That thing that’s these seagulls are driving me insane. It’s like closing down parts of the island completely. It’s all over the cliff face. This wasn’t here like 2 days ago. You have not grown wool in a while. You need to It’s Come on. I was here all day yesterday. What is it that you need for the wool? You need you need to start growing it quick cuz this stuff is across the valley. It’s coming for you. You’re like in the last little bastion here. We’re going to I’m going to make a hoe here. Don’t nip me. I try to make a little garden for you. Don’t nip me. Stop niffing me. I know health. Like, do you see I was or two days ago I was standing there and looking out at this like there’s just a skeleton right in the middle there. Look, it’s spread. It’s like it’s spreading so fast now all of a sudden that I’m losing ground at an alarming rate. You stay away from me. I got nothing for you. Anyone? That’s all I got for you. Jab. Oh, level 30. The only problem with this little technique is that it could spread onto me like that. Not doing it. Not worth it. Not worth the risk. I don’t have the food to continually heal these poison injuries I’m getting. Look at that. I almost just dropped into there. I’m going insane on this island. Okay. Okay. See, it’s time to slow down. This is so much more I’m sure people were leaving comments telling me to do that, but that is shocking that it took me that long. I had enough stuff for the ore or or lock and the scaffolding of this bigger boat that I was making, which was the sloop. Uh, but I was still going to need more wool for the sails. And I was not going to need just a little bit of wool. I was going to need a lot of wool. 24 to be exact. I was also going to need four cleats and an anchor. It was It was a lot more stuff that I was going to need to build this moat. I made the cleats for my ship and went back to check on the sheep. Please. That guy sh Look at him. He’s shaking. He’s shaking. I’m scared, too. This vine is growing out of control. I’m losing my mind here. I can’t even get mad. That’s my fault. I’m like walking up to an animal that I like, why? Why? I have no food on me again. I see why people get frustrated watching me. I’m going to go down and I’m going to fish. The vine is growing. So, he’s not going to survive. I need 24 wool. All right, that’s what happened. I needed food badly, so I spent some time here fishing, cooking my fish, and then watching my back because didn’t want another mosquito getting me. By day 76, I was at 16 wool. And I at this point, I really just needed wool and iron and then I could get off the island. Off this horrible, terrible, deadly island. These guys cannot come anywhere near me. I got to keep my eye. The sheep’s back up. Okay. Oh, the vine’s moving though. Okay. Okay. Where is Look, that thing that thing’s dying in there. Where? I For some reason, I cannot see shears ever. Okay. Don’t bite me. Don’t bite me. Want to bring you over here with this thing. I’m just going to grab Don’t. Rattlesnakes, just stay back from that thing. I got three wool from that one, though. That was good. I’m getting closer. Maybe maybe this is doable. But this the every day that goes by like the V like this whole shelf is going to be gone very soon. You need to you need to eat and eat fast. Where’s the sheep? Climb one of these trees. Oh, I get some more watermelon while I’m up here. Watermelon is such a crucial food right now. There’s a sheep right there. I got to I I’m going to have to cross like this. There’s an alligator in the vine, too. They’re They’re all There’s a mosquito there. Okay. Where’s that sheep? Don’t Don’t be a bad boy. Okay. Yes. Yes. Yes. There’s tons of grass here. It hasn’t reached my base yet, but it’s going to. I’ve stepped in that one like 30 times. That one’s like my own entire fault. Okay, I’m just going to fish today because I’m running out of food. I have watermelon, but I want some food. And that will give the sheep more time to regenerate. I just need one more wool and like four more iron. So, I was fishing for a while. When I go back to my base to unload my inventory, I noticed something. Wait a minute. Wait, light gray wool. I’ve been sitting here fishing and I have the wool. That’s 24 wool right there. Or hopefully it hopefully that’s fine that it’s gray, but I have gray and white wool. I need three more of these. I need three more. Three more. I can’t I sometime I can under I’ve said this before, but I understand why people may be getting frustrated while they’re watching me. Sometimes I have exactly what I need in my inventory and I just don’t even know it. And in this case, I had a piece of wool right here. This beautiful, beautiful piece of gray wool sitting in my inventory the whole time. So, with all the wool taken care of, the only thing I needed now was a few more pieces of scaffolding and uh I think some more iron, and then I was set. In the morning of day 78, I prepared to go back to the mines. And this time it would absolutely would be the final the absolutely final time that I go down in there. So I went down quickly grabbed the iron, grabbed it, grabbed what I needed and got out as fast as I could. No, no funny business this time. No monster fish, just me and my iron. And uh I was very pleased about this. Let’s build the anchor. I think that’s enough. Please tell me I didn’t count wrong. Please tell me I didn’t count wrong. Please tell me that I understand basic counting and there’s a piece of iron somewhere that I have that I’ve just Wow. Once again, the smartest man in the world. I quickly went back to the caves for actually the last time. got the remaining iron I needed and came back up. Hey, 80. It’s moving. Well, I I genuinely don’t know where else it’s There’s basically nothing left of the island. I’ve got there’s there’s like two or three pockets. It’s just going to spread like crazy today. And I don’t know what’s going to happen after that. Let’s make this anchor. I’m going home. There we go. Now I got my anchor. Need a spot for the build. The next step was to get oak stripped logs. So, I went out to cut down some trees until nighttime. And uh just didn’t want to be out there at night, especially this late with my limited supply of food. It’s kind of got a little bit spooky. Getting these trees cut down. I need a lot of wood. I’m here. I mean, it’s kind of scary. I hear a crocod like there’s a crocodile right there. [Music] Whoa, there’s one right there, too. He’s freaking me out. Toucon. [Music] I remember what you like. Not enough sheep as well. The vine was all over the place at this point. It was like coating the island and it was getting kind of hard to get around without stepping in it. But let’s be honest here. I even if there was only a small part of the island, I’d still find a way to step in it. But I continued to get wood and I stripped the logs until I went to bed. My one and only goal for today. Don’t die. I’ve died on day 82 in a few of these videos. So I just I’m going to be extra careful today. Get just get my logs on here. 16 wool. Oh, please. Please tell me that my Oh, wait. Yeah, please tell me that that you can accept gray wool. Get the sail built. Look at that. What’s next? Eight wool here. No problem. On one hand, I’m terrified of dying on day 82 because I always die on day 82. But on the other hand, if I wait too long, the vine’s gonna might kill the sheep that’s up there. I just have to go. So, I set off. I was paranoid that I was going to die. Day 82 in the most cursed of days. But I had no choice. The vine was spreading so fast it could have easily taken out all the remaining sheep at this point or very well likely just eliminated any place that they might be able to spawn. So, if I wanted to escape this island, I had to risk dying on day 82 once again. It’s freaking me out. There’s string right there. Look at that. Another piece of string. Another piece of string right here. That’s good. That’s very, very good. Another piece of string right here. The vine’s right here. I was about to say the vine I don’t have to worry about the vine around here, but look at that. It’s all right here. Yeah, it’s all It’s all through here. It grew down the mountain. The other side of the island where there were other sheep. But at this point, with how fast the vine was spreading and how much ground it was getting each day, I I wasn’t exactly optimistic that that there would be any area left that it hadn’t taken yet on that side of the island. It’s everywhere. Look, it’s all It’s everywhere. It’s across the entire It’s It’s everywhere. My only hope is that this little patch right here Oh, man. Look at that. It’s it it’s this whole coast. Remember my Okay, there’s some right here that hasn’t spread yet. Remember there’s a sheep in the field over there. That sheep is literally my only hope at getting off of this island. My bridge. You know how good it feels to be on day 83 when a man thought he was going to die on day 82 once again? or at least have to face the realization that he wasn’t getting off the island on day 82. And then to wake up on day 83 and know that it’s a beautiful sunrise with a nearly built boat and only a few final things to do to it. This was amazing. So, I made more oak fences. I finished the railing, threw my anchor down, and then realized I needed leads. You might be wondering, where am I going to get leads? How am I going to How’s a man like me going to get leads? You know what? I was wondering the exact same thing. That was until I realized that with one of the mods here, I could make leads with uh string and leather. Boom. Look at that. Four leads. Then I check to see how much I actually needed. And uh eight. I need four more leads. That means I got to get more leather. Oh, come on. Come on. I thought I was going home. The vine is right there. Half the island is coated. Tonight, I’ll just go out. I’ll hunt some more hoglins. I don’t know where I’m going to find them because there’s basically no safe places on the island anymore. Or there’s those giant tusk creatures, right? Like there’s one right there. Okay, let’s just try to kill that thing. Let’s like I don’t know. I can’t have it I can’t have it gouge me again. So, I needed something that I could throw at it. And without wanting to use any of the leather or string, my only real option was to utilize some of these old handles that I had made a while ago and uh some copper that I had. And using the two of those, I was able to make tomahawks. little tomahawk that I could use. So, I made a couple of those and I set out for one final hunt. Oh, right there. Right there. Right there. Right there. Right there. Okay. This tomahawk. Here we go. It just bounced off it. Please tell me there’s that was just me missing. That was not Yeah. Come on. Come on. Let’s go. Come on. Yeah. I I don’t want The last thing in the world is I want this boat to touch that vine and get the spores on it and then I bring them back to Canada. And the shark is freaking me out, too. Let’s just let’s just let’s just for the sake of the video pretend that I learned how to use the boat and I sailed it back to Canada. And I definitely didn’t get stuck sailing back into the island. Hey, there it is. 85 days on the island. And let’s just say I sailed for a smooth 15 to get back to Canada. Or who knows what happened to me for those 15 final days out at sea. Maybe I I don’t know. I was contemplating going back to the island and playing 15 more days, but I felt like, well, the vine was just going to take over and then I’d have to leave anyways. Maybe you could build a water moat around the house and add drip stone blocks with drip stone under them so while mobs are stuck in the water (since most of the mobs in this mod slowed down in water) you can break the drip stone blocks and drop drip stone on them.
You should make a 100-days series playing a modpack called Fight or Blight. It's really fun and super complicated
